Went to adopt a dog. Couldn't find one that was compatible with our family, because we were not allowed to walk through the kennel. We had to describe what we were looking for and they would bring them out. No possibility of a chance meeting. Found a cat that greatly appealed to us, but we're told we could not adopt, because she was turned over to a rescue group in New York. There was no negotiation on this and the shelter agent would not provide the name of the group, so I could contact them myself. It was almost as if they didn't want to actually adopt out to us at all. We will no longer support this organization with our patronage, an will instead seek out organizations that demonstrate a true desire to adopt out their pets seeking a home.

My girlfriend and I adopted a female Carolina Dog named Ennes. She has been a blessing. We named her Princess. She's so sweet and caring. I recommend this shelter if your looking for a good friend. Clean atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you all for all your hard work and dedication to helping animals.

I tried to get my son's dog a place their to be adopted by another family. My son had passed away may 24 suddenly. I was told twice they had no room over two months. I was told dog was my responsibility. What are they their for?

This is the only shelter I've been to that is clean and doesn't stink! They really pamper the animals here....have adopted two of my pups from this place. Great experience! If you are looking for a new pet, PLEASE come here! Adopt, don't shop!

This place is the most difficult place to adopt an animal. The best place is Richmond SPCA. The people at the SPCA are more courteous and faster. Prince George makes you think you are adopting a child, even though you take excellent care of your animal. I don't care if my animals come from, but they shouldn't complain about having too many animals when they won't let you adopt. I don't care, because now I have 10 cats and adopting more! 🙂

We had such a wonderful experience with them. They were so kind and informative while adopting our new puppy. We are so happy with the entirity of the adoption and now we have a wonderful pup to add to the family.

Animal control officer making false accusations and treating to file charges because of her personal opinion, even though my animals are in excellent condition. The office has been harassing my daughter and coming on my private property without permission, the law is that even an animal control officer must have a warrant to come on the property. This can not be tolerated.

We adopted our "Holly", then known as "Sweet Pea", 5 years ago. She was barely a year old and came to her gate and cried every time we visited. She is a stunning hound who now lives the life of a "princess". She is such a joy and fills our life with warm snuggles and lots of laughter. The adoption process was thorough and proper. When we were looking for a new pooch this was the brightest and cleanest facility. ADOPT a pet, DON'T ENCOURAGE PUPPY MILLS.

The lady was rude. Just flat out rude. I brought my kitten with me to see if I could find her a friend while I'm at work and she wouldn't leave me alone, telling me I shouldn't have brought her and scaring me with she could get sick and die. She's well and healthy and that woman can just be quiet.

The adoption process is really easy and reasonable. So far so good, I will be picking up my new dog there in a few days. The fee to adopt a pet is also very reasonable.

Found a rescue dog there, "Dilly-Dilly", that has turned out to be an absolutely GREAT dog ! The staff there are great and act VERY much in the interests of the animals they care for. When I get another rescue animal, I'll watch there First, and then look elsewhere.

the guy who answered was very polite & would have loved to help but since i was calling about a fox, my call had to be referred to game & inland fisheries. he had made a call to them but said he was going to try again due to many more concern people calling his office

David Johannsmeier and Kim Gray of 5517 Heritage rd are back to hoarding and killing cats. When the new kittens are born, older one's get killed off. This was a problem in 2017. At least 25 cats were taken away. At least 25 were buried around the property. These cats are "trained" by spraying them with Glade air freshener and Raid bug spray. (According to neighbors) Also according to neighbors, one mother cat had a difficult birth and was left dying slowly on the bathroom floor with a kitten hanging out for about a week and both mother and kitten died. They still think it's funny to get the Jack Russell high on marijuana. The neighbors in 5513 seem to know and notice the most.
