Literally the best wine tasting experience ever! My mother reserved 2 igloos and they let us stay for 4 and a half hours! We were buying wine bottles and clearly my uncle had a great time. The igloos were nice, the inside had blankets, a blue tooth speaker, and heater. Our waiter Matt was friendly and funny. My family and I definitely made some memories!

An absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable--Dederick was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The tasting room, loft area and expansive patio with breathtaking views were awesome and very relaxing. The wines were all good quality. We preferred the whites over red, especially the Chardonnay- they offer 3 versions- oaked, unoaked and barrel fermented! We brought bottles of all three home. Reds were primarily bordeax style blends, each with unique characteristics.It's rare to find a place that exceeds expectations on all fronts like this. Delaplane Cellars was very lovely overall! There are a few downsides to my review, but I will cover the positives first. Beautiful place with extremely kind and helpful staff - shoutout to Matt, the ambassador of wine (I think?) who came by as often as they could to provide us with information on the wines we were tasting. In addition to that, the campus is gorgeous and very easily accessible. Everything was very clean and just overall a good vibe. Most importantly, the actual wines were delicious! So was the Fall Harvest charcuterie board we got.A downside is that when we came in there wasn’t a clear line or way to immediately get service. One of the waitresses did mention that they were a bit understaffed though and experiencing higher traffic than usual, and we appreciated their awareness of the issue. Small irritation, easily rectified.Now to the big one! Something to be extremely mindful of is that the outside is plagued by stink bugs right now. Like they were literally everywhere. I couldn’t get super great pictures of them because I was mostly just trying to get them away but there are a few down below. I spent basically all of my time there intermittently swatting the little pests out of my hair and face, and off of my clothes. They also had gotten to the inside a bit because of the door constantly opening and closing, but seemed less active in there. We spoke with someone on staff and they mentioned that these bugs are only around during the Fall and very recently got pretty bad. Hopefully they are able to get this under control, but it’s just something that I think is important to know as it will impact your experience. But all in all, lovely winery that I would revisit, just in a different season!

Delaplane cellars offers an elegant tasting experience with comfortable leather seating indoors,two levels of outdoor decks, fire pits outdoors and gorgeous sunset views. We tried the wine tasting before deciding on a bottle to pair with the Virginia Sampler - three cheeses, sausage, marcona almonds and pistachios, olives and olive oil plus an outstanding fig chutney to accompany a fresh baked baguette. The sampler truly can substitute for a lunch. All of the wines we sampled were outstanding - their French oak aged Chardonnay was the standout among the whites for us. Just enough oak to smooth out the edges without being over oaked. (We are not fans of the 80s style heavily oaked Chardonnay - this is definitely not that). All of the reds were outstanding- we settled on a bottle of Adjacency to accompany our charcuterie sampler board. Service is excellent, our server checked on us multiple times and even brought out more olives and chutney. There is live music on the weekend. Parking is on the grassy slope below the tasting room although there is a drop off area in front if necessary. There’s an uphill walk to the main entry.

Insta: dmv_reelsWow just amazing view from this place. I loved their cheese board. You can also bring your own food. It was my first time visiting VA winery and wine was ok. Not the best but the ambiance and the scenery were just on point. When you wanna sit inside, make sure to reserve on the first floor because we got seated on the second floor and we didn't have ANY outdoor view. Not dog friendly.

An absolutely wonderful place to go for delicious wines! Matt was very warm and welcoming and EXTREMELY informative about wines!! He is quite literally the wine ambassador! The place was nice and clean and spacious! The views were absolutely divine!!! The weather cooperated today but even ifnit didn't, there are see through tents in the patio to allow people to sit outside, despite the weather!! The food was delicious especially the freshly baked to order baguette the was served from the oven to table!!! Overall, an absolutely awesome place to go and spend some time! Will definitely go back, especially when the weather is warmer!!

Melanie is the reason why my family and I continue to come to this winery. She is truly the best manager ever. She’s so sweet and goes beyond the extra mile to take care of my family. Richard and Jeremy are also particularly amazing people at this winery. Some of the best memories I share with my family have been because of them. This review doesn’t do justice to the experience they provide for us.

Came here to visit for my birthday and this place is wonderful. The scenery is beautiful and the employees were kind. They have 3 different types of charcuterie boards. I went on a Friday around 2pm. The had a lice guitarist too!

My friends and I visited Delaplane Cellars for Juneteenth weekend and it was a beautiful experience. The staff is friendly, attentive and accommodating. They made us feel so welcomed. Special shout out to Matt who schooled us on the wines and periodically checked in with us. One of my friends and her partner had to bring their child and although they couldn’t chill on the deck or in the tasting room, they still had a good time being in the picnic area which delivers picturesque views as well. And for those with children, you can purchase a bottle and bring it down to the picnic area. I live in D.C. and will definitely make that drive to visit this winery again.

On a Friday, In July I visited this location at the start of a yoga retreat and this was our final winery on the way. I remember the grounds being immaculate and the winery itself being quite beautiful. A staff of 2 or 3 ladies present, however, were not that friendly. The wine tasting bar was pretty extensive and the wine offering was plenty and the platter of warm bread and cheese was amazing! The terrace view overlooking their growing fields is completely stunning. They have a members only area upstairs and a separate dining room which is breathtaking. The feel is open with plenty of bay windows The aesthetic is lovely! I would return.

What a special experience. We had a reservation and when we walked in we were greeted by the manager, Jeremy. I was treated to a fun, customized tasting while we waited in the rest of our party. As we enjoyed some light live music outside sipping some delicious wine, we felt like the only patrons due to the level of service, and yet they were quite full. Incredible wine, incredible service, beautiful location.

Highly highly recommend Delaplane Cellars. The location, scenery and setting are divine. The building itself it a newer build and is very elegant. The wine is so tasty. The service and staff are amazing. Our group spent a day in the private tasting room and with wine-maker Rick in the barrel room. It was quite a treat and simply-put a perfect day. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! Can't wait to go back!

The 4 stars is for the ambiance and the food. The wine is ok, but Virginia still doesn't measure up against many other regions. The tasting flight included 2 whites and 2 reds. One of the whites was very nice. The Chardonnay was ok. The reds left a lot to be desired. Seems VA does white wines much better than reds.The cheese and salami plate was excellent. The bread that came with it looked amazing, and it was warm and fresh, but lacked taste. The plate paired well with the wines and the addition of the olives and pickled items, and the hot plum chutney, was delightful.Best of all was just sitting there with a beautiful view, tranquil, and soaking it all in. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a quaint and quiet vineyard that can provide you with a relaxing experience. As for wine qualities they are more like 6,7 and 8 out of 10. Location is a brilliant with one of the best views. prices here are fair.

The wine is great. There seems to be something for everyone. I typically am picky about my wine but enjoyed both some white and red wine selections. Our guided tasting by Sheri was informative and fun. She is both knowledgeable and friendly and made us feel welcome. We had some pizza from a local food truck that was delicious. They offer many events and live music if you like that atmosphere. On the other hand, they offer more quiet and relaxing spaces to enjoy your wine (without children) or if you're looking for a place to hang out and relax or work. We will definitely be back.

I will say, I have been to a lot of Virginia Wineries, but this winery really treated us so well. The service was extremely friendly, accommodating and went above and beyond. They treated us like kings. They went out of their way to surround us with heaters so we stayed warm outside and gave us blankets and delicious hot specialty wine drinks. The wine was fabulous. Not to mention the incredible breathtaking views. A huge thank you to Jeremy, who was fantastic and put up with our shenanigans. And also Emily who was so friendly as we entered. Will definitely be back! ❤️🍷

We visited at the very beginning of October and unfortunately it was raining so we weren’t able to sit outside! The indoor tasting room space is nice but we were seated by a huge number of stink bugs! Really impacted our ability to enjoy the tasting unfortunately and wish they had notified us before hand about the bugs and offered a discounted rate. Wine and charcuterie was fine but we just weren’t able to enjoy it.

From the wines to the exceptionally attentive staff, we had a blast! Special shout out to our waiter, Jeremy! He was very knowledgeable, providing great bottle recommendations.Food is limited to a cheese board and bread (which is amazing) but you can also bring your own picnic basket of goodies.It was pretty windy on our visit which kept us on our toes to prevent items blowing away, but we expect to be back in the Summer to fully appreciate the grounds and the views.

We had the most beautiful day here. The view was magnificent, the wine was fabulous, the tasting experience was accessible, and our server (Christie) not only guided us through the experience, but also taught me how my new iPhone camera works! We had a very good experience at Delaplane Cellars. Granted it felt a little weird as everyone stared at us walking from our cars up the hill to the winery (people visiting not the staff lol). Yes, parking could be a little better but what do you expect from rolling hills??? Am I right???The wines here are pretty good and the service, staff and food were top notch! If you get a chance to converse with the staff I suggest you do so. The are pretty knowledgeable and make great conversations.As for Delaplane's location the building is immaculately clean and has beautiful sites and views from the deck. Well worth a visit and a re-visit!

Out of every winery in Virginia we’ve ever been to this was the best experience! Everyone was SO nice, welcoming and accommodating. They made it clear that they were so happy to have us and the charcuterie board was excellent. The wine was great too! We’ll be back 🤩
