Although the name may make you think of a store that primarily sells cheese, this store has so much more food to offer. Bulk items, including things like flour, spices, candy, nuts and dried fruits are repackaged for sale. This list of foods is not exhaustive. The only drawback is that the prices seem a bit high for bulk sales. Nonetheless, I highly recommend taking a trip to The Cheese Place for much more than cheese.

Quality products. There are several types of cheeses, crackers, jars of jams, butter, jellies, special spoons, spices, candies, honey, beans, teas, pasta, flour, baked goods, nuts, dried fruit, cheese balls, etc. They have homemade pimento cheese and cheese balls too if that is something you like. The slogan is “the sure to please place” and it does please because I bought several items. Prices are fair. I enjoyed walking around this store in the Dayton Market. I will go back again, if I am in the area. The cashier was helpful and very friendly as well.

Impressive selection of locally made items and baker’s goods. They’re also well-priced! 👩‍🍳 Tip: Here, you can being your own containers to refill on raw honey, oil and vinegar.But my favorite part of this gem 💎 of an establishment is the soup & sandwich shop!! 🥣 🥪 The ladies behind the counter were gracious servers and the food was excellent!

My wife and I visited this store and what a gem it is. They have a great selection of cheeses,spices, canned (jarred) vegetables, meats , old fashioned candy,snacks ect. The folks here are very friendly. Stop in and visit, I'm sure you will love it, we did.

The chocolate candies are so delicious! We visit Massanutten resort every year for Thanksgiving and for the last few years, we have always stopped in the cheese place to grab a variety of cheeses, spices/seasonings, and chocolate treats! Of my favorite chocolate treats are the chocolate mint squares (they give Andes candies a run for their money) and their peanut butter cups. We always grab a bunch of treats when we visit but I wish we could order online to make up for the months we go without these spectacular creations! Highly recommend a visit here. You won't regret it!

I love this place. I've never been so impressed by options for cheese, but now they have so much more! The meats, candy, mixes, drinks, nuts, jams, seasonings, etc. I'm having trouble naming it all because they do everything so well! I visit every time I'm in Harrisonburg.The one thing the Cheese place needs to work on is their rewards system. Pay more than $60 to get $10 off on the next $20? Not worth it at all and will not keep customers coming back.

Best homemade pimento cheese in the valley! As well as great things for baking and cute little candies that are seasonal! Perfect place to build your own charcuterie board as well. If you like honey they sell it by the pound and you can bring yourown container and the same with olive oil!

I love, love this place. The young ladies here are so kind and helpful. Delicious cheese, soup, deli meats, honey, jams, and bulk everything! Keep your jars and refill with the succulent honey 🍯! Yummy!

Cute cheese shop located in Dayton Market, a community farmers’ market! The Cheese Shop has a great selection of cheeses, including unique cheese like garlic cheese or bruschetta cheddar. Cheeses are available by weight and sliced to order. Highly recommend stopping in Dayton Market for a great selection of cheeses and baked goods from other vendors!
