I moved to Danville 2 years ago. Midtown Market keeps my family eating the freshest local produce, fish, poultry and beef ! I go every week as they get fresh salmon on Tuesdays and Fridays. They grind beef for ground chuck daily. The chickens are small like I like which means they’re not pumped up with hormones that makes the breast as big as your head. The salmon is by far the BEST I’ve had since Ukrops sold out in Richmond. I’m originally from California and love locally sourced, fresh food. I don’t want produce from Mexico, Peru not even Florida if I don’t have too. Bill, Shotsy, Tammy and Jan are friendly, helpful. Btw, fish when fresh has no odor. Purchased salmon from Sam’s and other stores . . . It all smells FISHY ! Not my MIDTOWN ! Cooking their cubed steak right now. I had stopped buying this cut of meat as the grocery store chains don’t butcher their meat. It’s sent to the store already cut. Theirs is tough and no flavor !

Absolutely amazing !!! We bought supplies for camping while passing through town and already don’t want to eat everything up. Amazing steak and meat and the staff are all amazing proud people. Great vegetable selection we got some tomatoes that were like our grandparents used to grow to go with our steaks. Wish we could replicate this place back home!! THIS is how it’s done !!!!! A++++

Best chicken Salad and other items in our town. The meat department have really nice cuts of meat and the prices are affordable. Store small on the outside but big on the inside. If you very visit, I'm sure you'll make this one place you'll keep coming back to

What a market used to be. Limited selection due to lack of space, but they offer things you can't get at large retail grocery stores...fresh local produce, special cakes, high quality milk, gourmet chicken salad, etc. And the store deserves 5 stars for its meats and butcher services alone.

This place has been around for 100 years at the current location. When you walk in the place - you go back in time it seems - with a feeling of nostalgia. Midtown is know for several things that are all good to eat - including the famous chicken salad. I drove from Charlotte - and it was worth the trip.

Great all the time! They do get busy, due to the size, however it's the customer service that alleviates the wait! Great meat department and ready to answer any questions you may have.

I went to buy chicken salad and came with 2 bags of goodies. I wanted the coconut cake so bad! Everything they have is delicious. Got some beautiful tomatoes. Cashier very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Best homemade chicken salad I've ever had, both types are good but ones with cranberries I love most especially adding diced onion to it. They carry Boar's Head Deli Meat and have the best prices in Danville & Roanoke Va on it. Other fresh meats & poultry at reasonable prices as well. All employees are very friendly. Love Midtown and sure you will as well. Small store with Huge Charm & Appeal, you won't regret going.

The best homemade chicken salad ever! Love the ham salad too, but they rarely have any. Friendly staff in a neighborhood grocery store that has been around as long as I can remember. If you're passing through you have to stop and check them out!

I am new to the area and was told I had to go try some of their Famous Chicken Salad. Soo good! The people that work there are so nice, fresh vegetables, nice selection at the meat counter, and had some homemade cookies (that I believe were made locally) for sale. Those were good too! I will definitely be coming back!

Always a pleasure to visit this iconic market. Over 100 years it has been in business in Danville. Best chicken salad in the world! Also one of the best places in town for a good steak and other fresh meats.
