If you go during the day it is great, but evenings are normally young people who don't even speak to you. Normally they are talking and laughing with each other. I try not to go after 6pm or weekends for that reason.

This is one of the nicest, cleanest and most organized Food Lions I have been to in a long time. Kudos to the employees for taking good care of their store. Selection was great and even the plants are well cared for.

Food Lion is no longer my first choice when it comes to grocery shopping. Even with it being just right down the road. I would rather drive an extra 10 miles and go to Walmart. Food Lion has gotten outrageous with their prices!! Marking a food item up and then taking a few cents off for using your mvp isn’t a sale. It’s a sham!! Everyone knows inflation isn’t down beyond what the government and the media may report but a lot of the prices in Food Lion is out right crazy!! A half gallon of Food Lion chocolate milk is $3.49; whereas a gallon of Maola chocolate milk is $5.99. You use to be able to purchase Food Lion products cheaper than name brand. But who is going to pay almost $7 for two half gallons when you can get an entire gallon of name brand for cheaper! Food Lion also stopped selling their brand ice cream; forcing consumers that want a frozen treat to have to fork over more money! I use to be able to buy a buggy full of groceries at Food Lion for around $100 but now that same food is costing me almost $175. So instead of having to go without. I now just drive all the way to Walmart. Where that same $175 groceries I was buying at Food Lion, now only cost me right around $80 - $110 depending on if I have to buy name brand or Walmart brand.

Great customer service is a plus at this Food Lion location. The staff is always eager to assist anytime they're needed. This store is always clean and that makes shopping a great experience.The prices are about average , however I think they have a great selection of items to choose from. I really love the Deli. It's nothing like having them slice fresh bologna or roast beef. I especially like the fact I can get a personal cake anyway I like it at my neighborhood Food Lion.

Everything is organized pretty well for my taste. Everytime I go, I do find myself picking up at least 5 dollars worth of stuff I didn't intend to, but the loyalty program definitely makes up for it. Clean all throughout every time I shop, and constant presence of workers shelfing and cleaning up.

Had everything we needed, good prices and the young guy that rung us up was very polite when he greeted us but was talking to another employee the whole time he rang us up before telling us to have a good day. I work in the deli at The tightsqeeze food lion and had it specifically told to me several times to focus on the customer when they're in front of us. Other than that, everything was great.

Very nice grocery store in Danville. Better than the one at Ballou Park. Very clean, well-lit, organized, neat, easy-to-find items, friendly staff, and quick check-out! The fruit and produce was fresh, the packaged items we needed were nearly placed on shelves and didn't feel "dirty" when we picked them up. At check-out, the cashier was friendly, helpful, and fast. Definitely a great location to shop!

There are quite a few reasons Food Lion has been rated as the eigth-worst chain in the US. The produce is old and of third quality. It goes bad within a day or two and looks to be the culls no other chain (except maybe Ralph's [THE worst rated chain in the US]) would present for sale.The international section is very limited and consists of mostly American products that are nothing like the real foods. There's no kosher section at all. Food Lion is essentially a larger version of a neighborhood stop-and-rob.I pass three Food Lions to go shop at Harris Teeter. I'll pass those three plus a Publix and a Harris Teeter to get to Wegman's.If you need quality or healthful, you won't find it at Food Lion.

Food Lions in Danville are consistently out of many things with empty shelves. The employees are not helpful at all. Most of them will watch you look at a shelf for a long period of time trying to find anything and not ask you if you need help others will avoid you or walk away when you ask for help

I enjoyed my trip to food lion but they were out of food lion brand Napoleon ice cream in gallon bucket I came all the way over there just for that and I got sum money orders

This place, at one point, was the friendly neighborhood one stop shop. I felt a homely warmth when purchasing foods here; a trusting bond was once held with what was at one point in time, considered by me, a true caring business. They cared about their customers and not just the dollar signs. Now, I see what a corporate mess they have become. It's honestly sad to see such a trusting bond disappear at the drop of a hat. They've renovated, that's great. The prices for the products you receive, great ratio as it's always been. They've got better trained individuals working for them, awesome. The problem stems from them truly not seeing and helping someone with their everyday issues. What about hot food? Thought that was a regular thing, too? Nope, the company overall varies in many ways from store to store but, they are indifferent in the inner workings. I'm obliged to say that if one finds themselves needing to shop for anything in any foodlion in Danville.. this is not the one to do it. The customer service is the absolute poorest. I'll conclude with if I could give this negative five stars that would, in factuality, be the best rating I could give it.

One of the better locations here. It is neatly kept in store and also restrooms, the physical location is right off the highway and also has multiple restaurants nearby for both dine in, carry out, and fast service.

I came to Foodlion in SouthWyck and went to customer service there were three lanes open and I patiently waited one cashier by the name of Christy came over to see if they had cigars for a customer she was waiting on she did not acknowledge me nor did she say someone would be with me shortly this was very unprofessional after she finished with the customer she came over and I let her know what she did she apologized but it wasn’t sincere it’s bad enough we’re in a pandemic we need to be showing love instead of being rude please address this for the next customer who comes along and may have to go through what I went through

This is a good, basic grocery store. I can generally find what I need, though sometimes I must go to different Food Lions to get some items as the stock is partly based on demographics.
