Every time I go in there, there are tons of inventory carts flooding the store where you can’t even walk in some directions or see what’s on the shelves behind them. Lined up in rows down the aisles, packed full of inventory that needs to be put out. Since all of the inventory is packed up in boxes and loaded onto those carts, they’re always “out of stock” on the shelves! This store manager CLEARLY does not know how to operate a retail business. They need to hire at least 1-2 workers to ONLY be putting out inventory each day. I shouldn’t have to hunt down one of the only two employees in the entire store so I can check out. This DG (North Main St in Danville, VA) is only a couple of minutes from my house but I’ll definitely be going out of my way from now on the visit another one. I’ve gotten tired of zigzagging through this store just to find an empty shelf.

This is one of the cleanest Dollar General Stores I have ever been in..Shelves neat,no carts of stuff sitting in the aisles.

The store was completely trashed. Carts full of product blocking most of the aisles and shelves near empty. One cashier and 15 people in line. Not once did she call for help or was in any hurry. I know its not her fault but they desperately need some help.

I came in at 6pm there was a plus size white young lady and a plus size black lady with light brown hair I go to the register the young plus size lady sees me standing there and continues to work on the box she’s I stocking I have to yell two times before I get a response from her she yells one minute and the black lady comes from around the corner using profanity and the white lady laughs they are rude and unprofessional it was better when Latrice and Mrs Belinda worked at this one the people you all are hiring now have horrible customer service skills

I have always loved dollar general stores. My home store is on South Main across from Southwick Plaza in Danville VA. All employees have been great especially Belinda (I hope I spelled it right). She’s very friendly and talkative. I love that in a person. I went to my store today and had the experience that put the icing on that ugly cake that was baking. I already had experienced bad customer service that morning then this happens. I went to my store to pick up a few things and happened to see a large empty box in the aisle. I wanted that box to put away some stuff at home. I looked along the aisle and saw the manager, she was on a cell home, I was going to ask could I have a box. Since she was tied up on a call I proceeded to get a couple more items, saw Belinda and asked if I could have the box. She said “I guess so” so I went to check out. As Belinda was checking me out, the manager makes the remark “you know you must ask for the boxes”. I told her I asked for it. She looks at Belinda then me and says “only the manager can give permission to get a box”. I’m standing there thinking this manager just belittled an employee and me at the same time. I felt sorry for Belinda and I controlled my emotions and left. That was an unnecessary power trip demonstration.

i went to this store and the African American lady worker had a nasty nasty nasty attitude when we first arrive there was no hey how you doing or nothing just attitude ….she had a big attitude and was rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing!!! why come to work if you’re having a bad day and even if you are having a bad day why take it out on customers?

There's an abundance of home essentials, snacks, and light hardware. However, you won't be finding many frozen goods or dairy products. Solid store that will get you in and out in a hurry.

Cashier had two customers who was arguing over a price. Instead of calling for help, she continued to let the lady argue. Four customers left the store from staying in line too long. Finally after 15 minutes another cashier can to help.

Stay Away!The store is never stocked! Instead of closing for a few days to stock the place, they continue to allow shoppers to walk by boxes of stock while they hunt for products on empty shelves. This has been a problem for years and no one has addressed it. They never have Goody Powders or other OTC medicines or regular average products for daily use. Trust me when I say the place always has empty shelves, boxes everywhere and 1 cashier on a Saturday afternoon with 20 customers in line. This is the worst DG in the city. Stay Away!

I went to the one on South Main. These two loud women were arguing with the cash person over the price of something she was buying. I personally saw 4 different people put down their items and leave the store. It was 20 minutes before another cashier came up to help. There were 8 people in line waiting to be checked out. All of the customers were not happy.

This store has really gone downhill.It's impossible to shop due to all of the carts of stock in the aisles.The last time I went, the staff were hanging out in the parking lot and asked as I was entering the store if I was going to be a minute or would I be going straight to the register. I was literally completely alone in the store until they decided to come back inside.

I love Dollar General but this one we didn't know if they were open or closed the lights weren't on on the outside of the building it was dark but they were open thank goodness

Its dollar general....the one on 41 is so full of stock carts full of stuff that you have a problem getting around but I still love this store
