I can't imagine how Gary, Jerry, and the staff could have been nicer. They provided a couple bike rentals and shuttle service for 6 of us. One of the rentals was for my 81-year old mom who completed the trip. They're an EXCELLENT organization. I highly recommend them.

Super great and accommodating folks! I highly recommend you make reservations ahead of time. We left from Charlotte on a Friday morning and caught the Whitetop noon shuttle and rode the Virginia Creep trail down. We got done around 4, including stopping at the cafe and historical stops along the way. We camped over at Beartree! The group at Shuttle Shack is so polite and excited for you to have the best time. If you are prone to motion sickness, take Dramamine ahead of time - they're gentle on the drive but the road itself is windy, so there's only so much you can do there. The ride was awesome and we were back the next day for the shuttle to Abingdon, where we rode our bikes back to Damascus to finish out the trail. Our driver Ralph rocked - he was great to talk to on the way over, and when we got back and realized a BMX trailer had parked without permission and blocked my car in, both Ralph and the Shuttle Shack team worked to get my car out while apologizing profusely (even though it totally wasn't their fault!) Overall an awesome experience, I would highly recommend the Shuttle Shack to anyone looking to have a great and stress free time on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Thank you guys 😊

Whether you want to race down the trail or stop and enjoy every overlook, doing this trail will suit your fancy. Beautiful scenery, quiet trail, bathrooms along the way. Our bikes were comfy and stable, easy to use. Comfy vans get you to the top of the trail. Perfect trip for introverts as you can lag behind and enjoy your own private time, or stay with the group and hang out.

They can fit you for a bike rental and transfer you to White Top Station. I always love to support small businesses. You will be pleased with their service.

Every fall we try to get to Damascus, VA to ride our bikes on the 17 mile Virginia Creeper Trail. This fall the colors were amazing, but the day we went was threatened with rain. We typically go up and stop in Damascus to load our bikes on a trailer and get shuttled up to Whitetop, VA for the downhill ride. This year we selected the Shuttle Shack. It’s location is perfect and they were able to book us early (at 8:30 AM). They also rent bikes, but we brought our own. The staff was über friendly and helpful. The ride up takes about 30 minutes. They unload your bikes up there as well. Don’t forget to give your driver a tip!

We rented 4 bikes on a Friday and were given 20% off without even asking! The lady running the shop was very nice. We showed up early so they got us on an earlier shuttle. The driver was very safe and nice. The bikes were very nice! We loved our rental bikes and will definitely be back again.

We have used the Shuttle Shack for the past several years. We absolutely love these guys. They are very knowledgeable about the trail and surrounding area. They are always very accommodating and make us feel like family. We recommend them to all friends because we know they will be well cared for. I first posted this review 8 yrs ago. We still feel the same today.

The good part was the comfy bike seats, timely shuttle departure and the fact that the bikes got us down the mountain. The not so good was that my 6 foot companion was given a medium frame bike (way too small),both bikes had gear problems and the worst was that owner insisted that the bikes were in great shape and were well maintained even though we told him that our gears continually slipped.

Wonderful experience! Family owned and operated. Comfortable vans driving up the mountain, beware the road is winding, my daughter was getting car sick, but she made it! They took good care of our bikes. Can not wait to go back and try the entire trail.

Great experience! On time, Safe ride up, available parking, let us hose off after rain, and when we left forgot our helmets they cleaned them for us and stored overnight! Great customer service and super friendly all around! Worth it!

The Shuttle Shack is great! The staff was very nice, friendly and easy to talk to. They were very helpful too in airing up a couple tires on our personal bikes to make sure we would have a great ride. We enjoyed the trail very much and when we return sometime in the future, we will most definitely use Shuttle Shack again, as well as, recommend them to everyone else!

The Shuttle Shack staff are the best. The driver was very professional and courteous. Shuttles we used before in Damascus were kinda wild driving up the mountain. We had to really hold on to our seats in the shuttle van, but with Shuttle Shack we actually enjoyed the ride to White Top. There were 11 in our group and we had a great time. I would like to add that their rates were the best in town. I called different ones and dropped in on some of the shuttle services. Shuttle Shack had everyone beat. Great price and great service.

Great shuttle service. Owners are very friendly, knowledgeable and offer wonderful friendly customer service. The shuttle driver had a great sense of humor, knowledge of the area, and very quick and helpful getting everyone bikes to them at the drop off point. I would recommend if you are going to ride the trail use Shuttle Shack as they are the best around.

Due to weather, we decided to ride the VA Creeper Trail a day early and the Shuttle Shack was able to accommodate us. We rode our bikes from our B&B and upon arrival they assisted us in making sure our bikes had enough air in tires. Very friendly and desiring to help us get to White Top Mountain. We enjoyed great conversation with Rusty on the way up. What great folks at the Shuttle Shack.

We drove 4 hours to ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail. We pulled up to the Shuttle Shack around 12:30 and was told that they weren’t taking any more shuttles up for the rest of the day since they were “slow”. Even if their website says the welcome walk-ins, make reservations to in sure you get to go. Apparently they didn’t want our money so we went a spent it at the next bike shop in town.

Helpful and friendly shuttle service to whitetop. Our child gets motion sickness in cars on curvy roads. They made sure we got a front seat and the driver did a great job smoothly navigating all the curves. No motion sickness! Thanks and we will be back on our next trip.

My partner and I showed up on a weekday and signed up for the noon shuttle. They were incredibly sweet and accommodating and ended up getting us (and a few others) up to Whitetop early! I was so impressed with their customer service and hospitality. Wonderful folks!

Wonderful experience! The bikes were very sturdy and in great condition. The staff was very friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. The price was very reasonable.
