I used to go to take my animals here for all their needs but in 2021 I had to make the hard decision for my dog of 15 yrs to cross the rainbow bridge. I made the appointment and rescheduled once.So on that day I took him there first they wanted me to put him in the gas chamber! I said no way! Then Dr. Garrett came in stuck a needle in him and just killed him nothing to make him sleepy just killed him! I was distraught to say the least. That replays over and over in my mind to this very day. Why wait this long to say anything? It has consumed my mind and I just didn't wanna talk about it. He was a good dog to my whole family and didn't deserve to die that way.I seen it all and his last moment on earth was pain. I just say shame on you all. I wouldnt ever take any animals to this place. I would ahev gave a 0 bit it didn't have a option.

Hate to leave even a 1 star but had to to do review. Tried to have my cat's flea tick and worm meds refilled thru an online company. When they called for verification they refused to approve one "because they sell it at the vet's office.I called Fisher Hollow, Jessica confirmed. They will not approve outside purchases bcuz they sell it. They would not even write out a prescription, "the doctor doesn't even have a prescription pad"I asked over and over and tried to reason with Jessica.I felt I was being strong armed I said, being they won't allow me to go freely to purchase where I get the best price I can find, as a consumer.Jessica still said no way, no call to approve and no written script.THIS IS THEIR PATIENT!! He's been their before. I have NEVER ever heard of this practice, not even willing to write a script or approve over the phone.Jessica didn't want to hear it and got continually short and more rude, eventually telling me to just come in and pick up my pet's records and go elsewhere. When I called the online company back, they told me that the vet's office hung up on them!!!!!!WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS IS THIS??? THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS AT ALL.It's unbelievable that their payment business logo states:Very adorable and friendly,....... so so so untrue.Hiring rude people, strong-arming, incapable doctor to write scrips and not caring to just tell me to just pick up me cat's records!!!I should have known to be aware, as my last yearly appointment he only given shots. I!! had to request he do a physical exam.He appeared put out, but did cursory heart and ear check. No abs, no temp, no teeth ck, no eyes, no skin...Nothing!!... and I paid $40 for just listening to heart and look in ears.I should have gone elsewhere after that. I will now go to VCA who has an excellent rep and I've had my other cats there.I ONLY went to Fisher Hollow, as the previous owner used them.I don't know how they call themselves vet's who are "adorable andfriendly" . They are neither! They should say: Rude and UncaringI WISH I had read the reviews first before trusting themZERO recommendation from me, ...customers beware!, Esp when it comes to your loved pets.BEWARE!!!!!!!!! GO ELSEWHEREP.s. they also don't answer their phones, you have to wait until THEY feel up to returning calls. Mine was not an emerg, but...what if it was!!!!!!! OMG, I shudder to think!!

Fisher Hollow Veterinary Clinic is ABSOLUTELY TOPS in my book. During our vacation in Damascus our diabetic dog was almost out of insulin. We contacted that VERY expensive vet clinic near the Abingdon Walmart store for assistance. We asked them if they would honor a faxed prescription from our vet back home in South Carolina for insulin. They REFUSED our request and required us to bring our dog in before selling us insulin. The wanted to charge us $99, plus the cost of insulin. They are MONEY GRUBBING HEARTLESS bandits. The WONDERFUL folks at Fisher Hollow willing and enthusiastically granted our request and provided us with our critically need insulin. They are HEROES!

I have been using Fisher since 2006 they have always taken excellent care of my babies even the 110 lb baby who doesn't like going the vet lol. If you have never used Fisher give them a try. Not only do they love and take care of your babies their prices & staff are great.

I took my puppies to have their tails docked and dew claws removed. All 6 puppies did well and the job was professionally completed. The staff was friendly but the customers were a nightmare. They kept trying to look in my box and asking nosey questions. My puppies were two days old and should not be handled very much and total strangers thought they could hold my puppies who were susceptible to becoming sick very easily. I did not come to the clinic to socialize with the neighborhood. I came to the clinic to get service for my puppies who were away from their mother so I wanted to get them home quickly. The clinic was wonderful and did their job effectively and I was happy with the vet and staff but felt as if my privacy had been violated by the customers. I wish more people would mind their own business and take care of their own animals instead of being concerned about mine.

At first I had a great impression of this vet clinic. The front desk staff are always polite, perhaps a bit distracted because of the volume of clients but always polite nonetheless. If you want an appointment the same day or even a call back this vet shouldn’t be your first option. You always have to leave a voicemail and sometimes it’s a couple of days before the call is returned and then you have to set up an appointment which is also typically a couple of days out. As far as updating regular vaccinations, picking up flea meds or dewormer, or taking an animal in for a spay/neuter, they’re a great option. However, if your pet has more specific or long-term issues that need care and maintenance, RUN. I had already taken several animals to them to be neutered and that went very smoothly. Problems initially rose with our first dog, he had hip dysplasia and poor knees and the male vet literally held his hands up and backed away from him like he had the plague. Charged an office visit but wouldn’t even discuss his needs so his surgeries were done elsewhere. However, it wouldn’t have sat right with me to have a surgery performed by someone who was unfamiliar so that was fine, but very confusing as that’s a common concern for his breed and the knee surgery wasn’t extensive. Next, we took our other dog in for excessive drinking, cloudy eyes, and bathroom issues, and just as suspected he was diabetic. He was started on Insulin but not nearly enough units daily for his weight which I looked up afterwards (which is incredibly easy to find), so I scheduled another appointment to have his sugar rechecked and sure enough it was still through the roof and we had to go up on the number of units. I was also instructed incorrectly on how to administer the insulin which was causing the dog bleeding and pain, and again, after multiple visits had to just use Google to figure out how to do it correctly in a way that wasn’t dangerous or uncomfortable for him. The same male vet also told me that I only needed about 25 syringes a YEAR, and to just swap out a single-use syringe once every two weeks. After the third day the tip of the syringe was literally curled and my dog screamed and I decided to just forgo any and all advice that had been given to me by them thus far as I felt my animal was being regarded as livestock. The same dog is on a prescription for Prozac for PTSD, which they’ve refilled for me several times (it was prescribed by a different vet initially). I called five times over the last month to schedule a visit for my rescue cat who has been experiencing major anxiety at night, finally had my call returned today, and I was informed to take him elsewhere because that vet “does not believe animals can experience psychological distress or issues like anxiety”. Are you kidding? How many animals come through there each day that are clearly more nervous than others? Are their brains not also organs susceptible to illness? I brought up the fact that they had been refilling my dog’s Prozac and the receptionist stated that he’ll manage it if it’s preexisting but he won’t visit with an animal for a wellness visit if that’s suspected. I was told to try Keywood in Abingdon so I called them immediately, got an appointment the same day, and a script for anxiety medication for my little feller so he’ll hopefully suffer less if the trial run for it goes smoothly. Again, Fisher is great for very low-level routine maintenance, but I would not trust them with your furry companions if you’re concerned with their long-term overall quality of life. Between the medical misinformation and what I was told today regarding animal mental health I no longer trust them for all of my vet needs. I’ll reiterate that the staff are very polite but that really means nothing when you consider what services you’re paying for and who it’s for, and the answer to that isn’t superb customer care and social skills nor is it me that’s being treated. I’ll just take them to Keywood from now on.

Wonderful staff. With smiles on their face and open arms ready to take care of what ever little critter you may need seen. We had a rabbit dog get sick with parvo even though it had had its vaccines. Didn't think he wld make it. We took him to fisher hollow last Wednesday and his is home now as good as ever. Wld recommend them over any animal clinic I have been to in my yrs of being a pet owner.

LuLu hadn't been back since she was paralyzed last year! And we t in on a stretcher. Yesterday she walked in on her own to get her shots and they were happy to see her walking again. Although she got honorary and didn't want to go back and get her shots , I think she thought she would have to stay again. So they came out to her. So they are awesome 😎.

Dr.Garrett and his staff have taken care of all of our babies for years and we've always received topnotch, kind, compassionate care and treated very well! It's hard to get a call answered but they're super busy and I just leave a message and they will call back. We wouldn't dream of taking our babies anywhere else!

Used to be great place. Calked to get my 14 year old beagle in and they didnt even have her on record he is the one who spayed been going for around 13 years never left him owing a dime. Receptionist put daughters bill under my name which was not much he refused to see my dog 0because of that. The frontoffice needs to stay off phones and pay attention andhave better manners manners. Will never recomend this place again. Matt is losin g lot of good customers. He also getting bad attitude along with front staff.

I love the people at Fisher Hollow. They are so friendly and caring to each one of my fur babies. The only con if I must say, is trying to call out there, they are always very very busy and hard to get through to. But are always really good to call you back. I wouldn't trust my babies to anyone but Matt and the girls at Fisher Hollow.

Awesome place to take ur fur babies! All the ppl working there r very nice, polite, friendly and r gr8 with the different kinds of animals they handle everyday. They actually care about the animals and what their doing! Not like most vet's where it's all about the money Fisher Hollow Vet is best place to take any pet u have. Reasonable price don't over charge it really is all about the fur babies!

Dr. Garrett is a wonderful vet and a very kind person. He went above and beyond to help my cat when he was sick and he was very kind to my family when our cat passed away. When we brought our new cat to Dr. Garrett for a checkup, he answered every question we had and took excellent care of him. Dr. Garrett is knowledgeable, kind, and his prices are very reasonable. The rest of the staff were also very friendly, especially the receptionist. I highly recommend this vet clinic!

These people are my hero they rescued a dog that I thought had to be put down because of parvo the dog is doing much better they are also keeping an eye on and unusual lump under the skin and the left rear thigh but I have great confidence in them and they are very popular and always busy you must make an appointment to see the doc and even then you will definitely wait maybe up to an hour but that's the price of having a good doc and staff

Dr. Garrett and his staff are great. They work very well with your animals even the more difficult ones. Wait times can be long and getting them on the phone can be difficult, but they usually call back by the end of the day if you leave a voicemail. However, if it is an emergency I would call an animal hospital. Otherwise, great vet!

If your cat has any kind of serious issues, do not take them here. My cat has chronic GI issues and Dr Garrett barely gave us the time of day. Barely spoke to me or asked any questions about my cat. Didn't take his temp or weight! How do you not take a sick cat's weight? Gave us an antibiotic and said to call back if he didn't get better. I will NOT be bringing him back here as there was no concern or care given.

I have been to lots of vets around the country and this place is one of the best. Definitely the best I have been to. They're no b.s. and actually treat your pet rather than try to get extra money for unnecessary services. I really appreciate it and would recommend to any pet owner within an hour or so drive.
