Section hiking through Damascus we stopped at Damascus Outfitters to upgrade my backpack. They carry a large selection of packs and with the help of Brad I found exactly what I needed. He was quite knowledgeable and full of good info about things to do in the local area. Also bought a few pieces of outdoor attire that was on sale.Conveniently located on the AT as you walk down main street. Great selection of outdoor gear and clothing. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Had a great time shopping for both camping supplies for thunderstorms, and trinkets for gifts. The staff was polite, friendly, and answered any of my questions. Everyone was knowledgeable about gear, and there's a nice selection of footwear, packs, clothes, and some meal supplies. Recommend for any hiker, camper, traveler, or someone wanting souvenirs from Damascus.

Best store in Damascus, not to mention best outfitters. Employees are very friendly and helpful and have great tips for riding the Virginia Creeper Trail. We came back and bought two shirts and some stickers after riding the trail.

Very well stocked store with lots of useful and fun merchandise! Reasonable prices too. Unfortunately, the customer service wasn’t quite all there. Employee seemed annoyed to answer questions and wasn’t very friendly. Other than that, it’s a neat store worth checking out if your nearby.

I absolutely love this place! They have the best hiking gear and carry the trail running shoes I like at a great price. It's worth the 40 minuted drive. The staff is so helpful. I also love bringing guests and shopping here for gifts. I don't know how they pack everything into this store, but they do it well.

Last year I visited Damascus Outfitters and purchased a necklace which became my favorite to wear. Unfortunately I lost it and recently contacted the store to see if I could order a new one. With the help of Sweet Melissa, she was able to order and ship to me a new one. She was incredible to work with and so helpful. This is my favorite place to shop while in Damascus. Can’t wait to go back.

We have visited this establishment many times over the past few years, used them multiple times to shuttle us to Whitetop to ride the creeper. We recently went to look for a decal that I had purchased several years ago and it needed to be replaced. We wound up purchasing $72.80 worth of merchandise and am VERY unhappy to say when I checked my bank statement it showed I was charged $75.14. I am assuming it was because I used my debit card to pay (which should NOT be charged the same rate as a credit card). No, it’s not a lot of money, but that’s not the point. I should have been informed about the fee prior to purchase and I would have happily paid in cash. I will not use them next time I am in the area and need a lift to Whitetop. Very disappointed.
