Best breakfast ever. So much food it barely fit on our table. Let’s see…chicken biscuits, tons of gravy, more biscuits, eggs cooked to order, hash brown casserole, grits, country fried potatoes, more chicken, more gravy. For under $10 per person. The night before, we enjoyed good old-fashioned double cheeseburgers, also at a bargain price. Great service all around. This place is jaw-droppingly, five-star amazing.

A "hole in the wall" kind of place... I can where it might get busy but we had no problem getting a table. 1st time here... waitress very friendly and indicated we could still get the lunch specials for dinner. We both order a special (he had the burger, I had a sandwich with turkey) + an order of onion rings. One of the best onion rings we have had. Meals serve right away and food was delicious. Definitely a place we will eat at again.

Great old-school locals’ diner. Nothing fancy, but good food, good service, and fair prices. I had both dinner and breakfast here. Grilled cabbage side was recommended by a local and was surprisingly good. Breakfast was amazing (I got “The Hogg”). Both waitresses I had were great, and the manager was really friendly and keeping things moving. I’ll definitely be back on my next visit to Damascus!

The food is absolutely fantastic!! What a little gem in this mountain town. We ate here 3 different times during our stay, the breakfast did not disappoint and the lunch was just as satisfying. The sourdough bread is out of this world!! It’s is so good; everything we tried was great. The waitstaff is attentive and just great vibes throughout.

Hubby and I didn't want to cook, so the diner was our choice for dinner. The special (chicken breast, roasted brussel sprouts, garlic cream sauce and mushrooms) was divine! The sauce was a very light garlic flavor, but a perfect compliment to the brussel sprouts. I had the shrimp, fried with fried cabbage. It was perfect. The shrimp were very lightly breaded, and had great flavor. The cabbage was not overcooked and tasted delicious. Loved their coffee too.

For being the only breakfast place in town, I expected a little better. The coffee was really good but the service was poor, the food was very bland and not cooked well. My wife and I both had their hash brown casserole and not only did it taste too much like sour cream but the potatoes in it weren't cooked. It was quite pricy for sub par food as well. This place is a one and done for me.

Stopped in on bikes, they have a bike rack outside and tables for 2 to eat. Ordered Alaskan whitefish dinner with 3 sides. Fish was excellent French fries were probably cooked 10 minutes before they were served. Green beans were good bit needed pepper. 1st time in my life I ordered collared greens and they were inedible because they asked if I wanted vinegar, no except the waitress failed to say they're already drowned in it. Nice atmosphere but definitely ask questions about food when ordering.

Just a wonderful experience for breakfast. Inside dinning is available but limited to about 8 tables. Only in town for a couple of days but made sure to eat there for both.Didn’t get to check out there supper offerings because of Halloween, and the town ramping up for some great trick-o-treating.Breakfast consisted of massive slabs of crispy bacon, the most tender biscuits I’ve had, some of the wife’s favorite grits, and a hash brown casserole that should be on everyone’s order. My over easy eggs were just that, and my sausage was fried perfectly and had a nice spice to it. The sourdough bread on morning two was fabulous under my fried egg sandwich with cheese. The wife’s breakfast burrito was nicely toasted and cheesy, the salsa was the perfect pairing. My only recommendation would be to work on your gravy receipt. If it’s a mix or canned, throw it out. If not ask around. All southern mamas have a good one to try.Still a 5 star diner. Can’t wait to return next year!

Food was great, service was super friendly- my significant other and I stopped through on our way from TN. Portion sizes are great for the price- food seasoned well-my mimosa was refreshing, and we could not get over how friendly everyone is. Stop by if you are in the area.

We found this little diner tucked away on a side street. The staff was friendly, the service was quick and the food was delicious! If you visit Damascus or are passing through you should stop and have a meal. You won’t be disappointed.

Every single person that worked there was on it. Busy busy. Tables seem to flip pretty quick. Their food was delicious and their portions are on the fuller side which I love. When in Abingdon we rather go here than the mill. Food tastes better, service is faster. There is no view, but the waitstaff is very friendly.Their side cabbage was different than I expected in the very best possible way. Fish was lightly breaded like I like, mashed potatoes on point. Bravo to all at Damascus Diner.

This place was amazing. I spent the day biking and was looking for somewhere local to eat when this was recommended to me. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I looked at their reviews for anything to avoid and apparently it all was good! I had the pork tenderloin, collard greens, cabbage and mashed potatoes and it was awesome!

Y’all…… In town for 4 days and it was the only place we ate. Seriously. Reasonably sized menu and everything wasn’t always available which is legitimate with the way things are right now. Locals check. Travelers check. Nice people working there check. Location check. Parking check. Hours check. Prices CHECK. We would be out riding or hiking and I would be thinking of what to get for lunch or dinner. AMPLE portions with enough for leftovers.

We were hungry after doing the VA Creeper and found this little gem. The food I would classify as down home cooking. Salads, sandwiches, and plates....quite a few options. I chose the hamburger steak with grilled onions. The side salad was standard, but so fresh. The food was great. The service was low key, but professional. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, but bright and cheerful. I’ll definitely go again if in the area.

Another delicious meal at the Damascus Diner. We had the meatloaf dinner and hamburger steak dinner. Great place to eat and service is always wonderful.
