Great place right along the creeper trail so it is easy to return your bicycles. They were very accommodating for us. Called ahead to ask if we could bring our 30lb Boston Terrier and they said yes, but we had to supply our own wagon. They made sure the wagon attached appropriately as it was our first time using it because we borrowed it.Great experience with these guys. Will definitely rent from them again in the future.

Great service and great location along the VA creeper trail. Our shuttle driver was very kind and informative. The bikes were in good working condition and we did not experience any mechanical issues on the trail. We were given a cruiser style bike, as were most in our party, although they have a few mountain bikes available as well. The bike had a comfy seat and riding position, but we would have appreciated a front shock for a few of the slightly rougher portions of the trail. The shop was busy but they worked us through quickly. Parking was limited and required a little patience but we were assisted in finding a spot on location. The store had a good variety of clothing, gear, and other stuff and was fun to browse while waiting.

Check in was quick and efficient. We brought our own bikes and they were very attentive and thorough putting them on the trailer. We did call the day before to make a reservation but they also take walk-ins. Van driver was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Van was clean and it was a comfortable ride up to Whitetop Mountain. Highly recommended!

Great experience. Older gent who drove us up the 30 minute shuttle was a sweetie. If you want a gel seat it’s an extra $5. Bike was great for a rental. Trail is so beautiful. Several bathrooms along the way. Great way to see some truly beautiful nature.

Welcoming and helpful staff. Good idea to call ahead for a reservation for the shuttle up to Whitetop Station. 17 easy miles back down to the shop and a simply drop off outside. Inside has bike rental and repair, souvenirs, tees, hiking items and even trail shoes. The AT/Creeper Trail runs right outside its doors. The bikes were in excellent working condition. Big seats. You can get padded cover for an extra change if you think you'll need it. Glad we chose this outfitter out of the several found in Damascus.

We took our shuttle from Sundog to White top. They took great care of the bikes and were very kind and gracious. Definitely would go there again. People were great.

You can really tell they've done this before! I was with a group of almost 25, a BSA troop that was planning the lazy portion of the creeper trail.There's a straight shot to the bike fitting area with a clearance rack to look through while you're waiting. The wait wasn't long as the fit all of us with our bikes in short order and directed us to the vans. They loaded the bikes in less time than I imagined possible then drive us safely to the summit.They unloaded the bikes and sent us with kits for flats. All of the bikes were in good working order with good tires and only one had issues with the brakes. Those brakes had a long pull but worked safely. It was an adjustment issue, not a mechanical one that I'm sure has been addressed. This shop is at the bottom of the hill but I'm top of their bikes.The merch in the shop is reasonably priced and at checkout they honestly treat you like a local.I honestly can't say enough good things about them.

Sundog is the place to go for biking the Creeper Trail.We showed up a half hour ahead of time and they got us set up on bikes 1,2,3. We had some time to browse the store, but then we were off on the shuttle to the top of the trail. While you are in the shuttle with others, mask wearing is strictly enforced. The shuttle driver was wonderful and gave us a bunch of tips on riding the trail and on where to stop.The trail itself is beautiful, and 90% of the ride is coasting down hill. Plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures and really enjoy the scenery. The last couple of miles into Damascus are a little flat, but nothing too bad.Overall, biking the Creeper trail is a wonderful way to spend a Day, and Sundog is the company you want to do it with. And at $36 a person for shuttle and bike rental, it is totally budget friendly.

Nice and informative drivers for the shuttle. Drive up the mountain is almost as thrilling as the cruise down the mountain. You will get rollercoaster curves hit with the precision and handling of seasoned drivers. As 45 mph begins to feel like a white- knuckling experience. No worries! You're in good hands.People at the shop are super nice and engaging. Well organized, cheerful with the influx of us fall tourists. We enjoyed the experience with these folks. Be nice to your outfitter!

We rented bikes from another company but when we started down after being dropped off at the top, we had an issue with one of our bikes. Unfortunately, the company we rented from had already left and we had no cell service. Caleb from Sundog stopped to help us when he saw we were having trouble. When it was determined our bike couldn’t be fixed, Caleb let us use a bike that he had on his shuttle and even took the broken bike and dropped it off. He stopped when others passed by so his kindness was really appreciated!

We stopped here and rented bikes and paid for a lift to the top of the Virginia Creeper trail. I found the prices to be reasonable ~$35 per person. The staff were very friendly and even provided us with a first aid kit to use when our son skinned his elbow on the way down. There are other bike rental shops in town ... but I think we will stick with these guys for our next trip down the trail.

Look no further for a bike outfitter and shuttle on the VCT. You found the best in Damascus and Abington, hands down. The kind staff is knowledgeable and dedicated to customer service. The only shuttle operation open year-round, they took me in as a walk-in on a slow November day and gave me a shuttle to Whitetop and retrieved me 34 miles later at the trail’s end in Abington. The staff is fantastic and want you to spend a little time on the mountain.

I drove up here from North Carolina to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail on my mountain bike. I had never been on the trail and didn't know what to expect. The staff took their time and explained various options for the shuttle service and different ways to experience the trail. Very nice people here!! Come into town without a reservation. (Didn’t know i needed one). Called around looking for a shuttle and everyone was booked solid for the next few days!! Jackie out of the kindness of her heart said she would do what she could. About a half an hr. Later she called and said they had some cancelations.I own my on business and I have to say I really appreciate when even though your booked solid people still care about you and want you to be taken care of. Keep up the good work Sundog I’ll be back!!

We always use this place and enjoy it! We also find it affordable. Would definitely suggest them. They have a lot of bikes to upkeep and do pretty well with it! Sometimes they seem to need little things here and there but it is nature of the game. We also enjoyed our last driver, she did excellent on the windy roads.

To ride down the Virginia Creeper is one of my favorite things to do in the Appalachian Mountains. Sundog outfitters is terrific! They run their vans on time and keep their bikes in great shape. I’ve gone three times and will definitely do it again with the family.

I didn’t have a clue what to expect or what we were doing but they made it easy and we had a great time biking down the VA Creeper trail. We had five adults and six kids under the age of 8 so we couldn’t have been their easiest customers ever. But they were friendly and helpful the whole time. Their shop was super cute and I was tempted to buy so many things. In the end we just bought some stickers for the kids to put on their bikes as a reward for completing the trail. I would definitely use them again!
