You get what you pay for. I bought the cheapest ticket in the area and that's what I got. It's a 2 floor hotel with no elevator, so you're carrying everything. There was hair in the bed sheets, which were paper thin. The mattress is hard as a rock. Hair, soap scum, and mold in the shower. Toilet looked like it had never been scrubbed. Staff was friendly. The room was non-smoking yet stunk like pot. Multiple gas stations and restaurants nearby. About a quarter mile from the highway. Fridge and freezer worked well, albeit looked like it never got cleaned.

We stayed on April 1. We arrived @ 8:30 & checked out next morning @ 8:30 it was $80+ (Room 245) You have to take stairs since there's no elevators. The bed was hard & the top cover doesn't stay on (it slides off the bed lol), the toilet looked like it hasn't been scrubbed (ever). I took a shower & the water soaked the floor. When you go to flush, you have to reach way down cz the back is so low (it's funky looking). We had ordered Frank's Pizza from rite down the road & had a picnic on the bed (delicious, by the way). They do have complimentary breakfast (muffins, oat bars, etc... The employees were very friendly.

On March 13th I called Hotel 8 reservation line and booked this hotel from March 14th-March 21st. I explained to the representative that I recently sold my home (that was local) but had been living with my daughter until this in Lynchburg. I did explain my ID was a local address but the representative said no problem that would be just fine. Also, I expressed I had two service animals and they also said no problem no extra charge for earthier. I then checked in on March 14th with a nice front desk lady. All she said that I may get a charge of $20 per day for the additional pet because it was considered an emotional support animal. My husband which was standing right there stated if that is the case he would take one of my dogs so I wouldn’t be charged extra. She then advised me she would let me know the next day once she followed up with the manager. I also ask her if I had to extend my stay would it be a problem she said no not at all. After that I checked in all seemed ok. I did noticed that the hairdryer did not work, the fridge did not work and ended up ruin all my food. The toilet was different to flush it would run constantly. The heating and air element made my allergies so severe and I could not get it to a correct comfortable temperature. I report this the next day they said to unplug the fridge and re-plug it up. Which the fridge was plugged into the microwave?? I did that the fridge itself work but the freeze did not. Again continue to have issues. So March 13th I called to extend my stay one more day because I did find a home. I called that morning the front desk lady I believe her name was Sandra I ask to extend my stay a day and she said no at first. I advised her that I was told it wouldn’t be a problem she then said hold on.. then said yeh I can extend it for the day I thanked her and she hung up on me. Later that evening I went up to the front desk to sign the paperwork and noticed my day wasn’t extended. The older lady kept telling I don’t know what to do tell you and that she couldn’t do anything then called the manager from her phone so I could speak to her as the manager seemed deathly ill and hung up on me. I was told by the older lady and also a man up front to call in the am. I ended up calling the reservation line to make sure I was ok for one day so I wouldn’t be scrambling the next day to move. I spoke to the reservation and they booked it and said everything was ok. I do have a confirmation number for that. So then i proceed to finally lay my head to rest. I start getting text at 3am from the manager basically saying I couldn’t extend my stay and have to get out. She also said that I will be charge a local deposit fee of $125 and an additional $20 a night for all the nights I stayed. I then told her again of all the issues of the hotel and that none of this was explained to me and I thought that the $20 wasn’t going to be charged because I was never notified afterwards. I will send the screenshots of our conversation. Also she cancelled my reservation without my notice. I spoke the to gentleman up front and he was very kind and explained if he could fixed all the issues he would be he didn’t have any authority that he was just filling in. I had to move at 4am and find another hotel to stay at. I’m disputing all charges as my reservation got cancelled and I was kicked out in the middle of the night. To the hotel was not as excepted and the service was horrible other than the lady that checked me in and the gentleman that couldn’t do anything. Please let me know if you need anymore additional information. Also the internet and TV service keep going in and out for all my stay and the internet was very slow I couldn’t get it connected to work for job related purposes.

Gorgeous place for it's age. Furniture could use some updating. Slight odor but I don't know why as it is a non smoking and pet free facility. Great location next to I-81.Rooms: Furniture could use updating.Noteworthy details: Entire facility non smoking and no pets allowed.

Very descent for the price. As others said, there is still a smell of smoke, even in the rooms. We took a small travel air purifier with us, and the smell was gone in 3 hours.Walkability: There are restaurants in walking distance.

2 star hotel on the official ratings but everything about our stay was 5 stars. We were greeted by Anne and her friend who could not do enough for us to make sure our stay was good.It was a last minute decision to stop over night and worked out good with a Mexican restaurant next door for dinner(also good food and service). The room was large and the bathroom was all clean and tidy. Tv worked fine and a very quite room as the girls said it would be.Excellent valve for money and a good nights sleep. Many thanks mike (over from England)

Decided to take a trip down to Georgia didn’t wanna drive the whole way so found this place about halfway point to Georgia from Philadelphia five hours 57 minute drive in a small town called Danville within Roanoke was skeptical at first, but I went by the reviews and we were there, right what a great place well-maintained quiet Nice rooms and accommodations. The room was spotless well stocked with oh your usual items, coffee, shampoo, soap, plenty of towels, plenty of pillows, comfortable beds, nice size television. I might add. They first serve breakfast at 6 AM and finishes around nine to grab and go. This is just off the highway. along with a string of other hotels and motels, there is a nice bar and restaurant, right next-door and beautiful scenery to boot mountains everywhere. Well it’s not a big town. We do have places that deliver food if you’d like Domino’s Papa John’s you can actually get groceries which I did from Instacart they deliver right to the door. The bathroom was exceptional as far as bathrooms go great toilet. Oh, that’s not an issue for some people but a few hotels that I’ve been in have toilets that are a little bit substandard almost residential, but this one is clase great seat, silent flushing, excellent shower and pressure and good Wi-Fi signal. Highly recommend this place value is unbeatable.Rooms: Rooms are nice sized clean well stocked with the usual amenities. Shampoo soap, conditioner, coffee. In addition they have a microwave and nice size mini fridge. Great size TV about 40 inches. I believe many channels good Wi-Fi signal that’s a plus getting comfortable. Plenty of pillows bathroom excellent nice toilet I’ve seen a few that have been less than desirable with this one’s great day. Good shower with good water pressure room is spotless.Safety: Very quiet area first thing I ask when I come in is there any problems and they said they haven’t had anyFood & drinks: This is just off an exit from in major highway. I believe there’s a small town not too far from here but you can get your usual, fast foods and deliveries, Domino’s, Papa John’s, etc. and can also get groceries delivered Instacart if necessary.Noteworthy details: Quick and easy check in literally three minutes. I had my key was in my room within five very helpful lady at the front desk and she was super nice.

Nice room very friendly and accommodating staff. Good price. Wished the ice maker was working.Safety: I was a woman traveling alone and the woman at the front desk went out of her way to make sure I had a room close to the lobby and vending machines. She went out of her way to reassure me about the safety of the area and places I could go by myself to eat without worrying, all without me asking. I felt very comfortable and safe.

Place is ok. Pretty modern but not the cleanest. Several areas need attention. There is lots of rust In the bathroom on the shower head and around the toilet. The bed skirts were stained. Overall not horrible but not the best either. Normally wouldn’t be bad for a cheap hotel but it wasn’t all that cheap either.

This hotel has a good price and is right off the highway but feels safe. The water was warm and had good pressure. My main issue here is that my non smoking room smelled strongly of smoke, so much so that our items that were inside still smell since leaving the hotel. Do not use if you are sensitive to smells.

Let’s start with the positive. Good price. Friendly staff. Warm water shower. Good TV, fridge and microwave. Carpet was clean enough to walk barefoot. The negative: a persistent smell of smoke throughout the halls and room. No breakfast unless you call a Nutrigrain bar a great start to your day:) Overall, for the price, you win. If you want to enjoy your stay, $50 extra somewhere else is definitely a good idea.

It gets the job done for the price paid. For a two star hotel, it's typical. However, having said that, our hotel was very spacious and clean, water pressure was good and hot water lasted long. The bathroom had no ventilation and hallways smelled of heavy cigarettes.Breakfast was coffee, yogurt, and granola bars.We had a comfortable rest sleep.

I want to evaluate this hotel relative to its sub-$70 peers. Apart from not being "dazzling new" and "modern chic," everything was well maintained, clean, and worked. All staff members were courteous and professional. And we got a receipt when we walked out without even asking for one. In my experience, the typical rural Virginia hotel at this quality level costs 30-50% more. At the "two star hotel" level, they offer a better quality-cost trade-off.
