Been shopping here for years and has severely declined in the last year or so, some of the staff is rude, act as if your in their way. The seafood department staff is lazy at best, if they are even open at all, three of last 6 Saturday’s at 11:00am closed/ empty. The meat shelves have empty holes everywhere, usually on items they advertise as being on sale, or their digital deal scam. Some of the checkout staff will argue with you over items that are clearly marked on sale. I will award 1 star because the pharmacy does a great job. The meat/seafood and store managers need to be replaced immediately. There are two Krogers in Blacksburg Va. the college students refer to one as Gucci Kroger and the other as Ghetto Kroger, well their Ghetto Kroger is run better and is better stocked than this place. I will check back periodically, until then I will be at Food Lion

For the last year i have been using thus kroger to load my cash app every two weeks. The last to tines ive tried at this location they decline it. The younger people running customer service need to be retrained. If nothung else, to be able to explain why it isnt working

Nice Kroger store with hot food and deli. The location makes it a good travel stop along 81, there's fuel, food, and bathrooms all in one place and something other than fast food. Store has self checkouts and regular. Bathrooms are in the front of the store. Good produce section with ready to eat stuff. Easy enough to get on and off I-81.

The lady cashier working till closing the night of 4/4/24 was extremely unprofessional, rude, almost harrassing and should not be working in customer service. I will never step foot in this Kroger again.

What happened to this place ? In the last 3 months it has gone completely downhill fast. Never more than 1 register open . I don’t work here … update …. The descent continues… yesterday during prime business hours the deli shuts down for breaks

We went there at night while staying in a nearby hotel. It was clean, inexpensive, friendly, safe, and had a large selection of food. Everything you would expect from Kroger. Good store.

To the tall brunette with the almost perfect physique who farted in the bread section last night: I was the bald gentleman standing next to you, who turned and inquired, 'Was that you?' You swiftly responded with a denial, seemingly offended that I even asked. However, as the odor persisted, it became evident that you were indeed the source. In an attempt to dissipate the smell, I waved two loaves of Ciabatta bread, but you left in a displeased manner. Despite your untruthfulness about the incident and the intensity of the aroma, and the fact that you fart like a Clydesdale, I still find you beautiful, and I'd still like to get to know you better.

This Kroger is chill af, let us hiker trash hang around for like an hour waiting on our shuttle. All the staff is really friendly and welcoming and patient. I'm used to grocery stores kicking us out, but this place is cool 😎

It’s an unfortunate disrespect to your customers not having a register open and available at all times. I did my shopping and filled my cart just to come to the self check out only. These use to be peoples jobs now they want the customers to do the job and we’re not getting paid and our groceries are even more ridiculous in price! Keep it up folks and you’ll be stocking the shelves too! Well I will not check myself out and I’ll continue to leave my cart filled unpaid for in a corner.

We started using this Kroger when we were consistently disappointed by the Hollins location. A bit farther of a drive for us BUT they always have carts available for use, its much cleaner (especially the produce department), and its stocked better.

Everything is nice and clean and in order all the help is very helpful. The hot foods is really good and the sushi is outstanding. May I also add all the sushi is made daily none is saved for the next day sells. And of course they come with chopsticks and condiments.

Some of the most inept cashiers & baggers around. Don't listen, don't follow instructions, no training nor common sense. Management extremely poor.No meat plastic bags handicap accessible despite repeated requests. Way up on top above shelves.Repeatedly out of stock on most common items going back before the pandemic. Overpriced & often produce items appear old. Bagged salads rarely last until the printed date.Save your time & go to Food Lion instead.

Terrible management! Manager on duty at 6pm on Thursday September 2 2021 Told me they decided to start closing the deli at 5pm? and that the reason I had to wait 20 minutes in the meat department was because the guy working was probably taking a break?! No coverage or deli when people are getting off work? They also had no seafood, she said she didn’t know why there was no seafood, they just stopped sending it?! Either Kroger in Daleville is going down or they have the worst management ever! I left and went up the street to Food Lion. Management at Food Lion runs a top notch operation. Perfect customer service and have never had to wait in line. If they didn’t have something in stock he’s tried to accommodate in other ways. Real customer service. And very clean.

This is the worst Kroger around town as far as the customer service is concerned. If an item rings up a wrong price, they don't take the responsibility and give you the money back. They make you feel as though it's your fault that the item price was wrong. I believe it's their policy that if an item rings up wrong price they refund the money and give the item for free. At least they did in the past at other stores. The cashiers are usually nice though. They are fast and polite. I've been to other Krogers with much better customer service.The store also doesn't have very good selection of items, especially if you're looking for vegan foods.I still go there a lot due to location.

All AT Hikers, please note this place is NOT hiker friendly. The manager called the police on me because I was sitting in front of the building charging my phone on a spare outlet (this was after I spent $80 in their store on a resupply).Dont get me wrong, this is a nice Kroger.... but apparently too nice for hiker trash. My advice is to skip Daleville and keep walking on to Troutdale.

I've lowered my rating for this Kroger location to one star. (This rating does not apply to the pharmacy, which is still as good as ever). The pandemic has not been kind to them, or they have not responded well. The store is dirtier than at any time since it was built. Many of the excellent employees who used to work here seen to be gone. There are still some good ones left. But some surly and unhelpful customer service people have lowered the average a good bit. As I've pointed out before, the store is too small for the traffic it draws. Promised expansions have never materialized. This situation has been made much worse by Kroger's new emphasis on grocery order pickup, and delivery. Before the pandemic reduced the number of grocery store trips for most folks, it was difficult at times to navigate the narrow aisles of this dinky little store -- you had to dodge 10 - 15 employees dragging large multi-shelved carts through the store, gathering items for pickup or delivery. I know this is a helpful service, but it is not compatible with such a small little store. There isn't enough room!! This Kroger location has basically been turned into a warehouse instead of a grocery store. I don't know if they care whether any shoppers come to the store anymore. If you need to shop for groceries in an actual grocery store, you will be better pleased at the nearby Food Lion across from the YMCA. It's much cleaner and friendlier, and better stocked. Their produce section now surpasses Kroger's, quite a feat. I believe many Botetourt residents have come to the same conclusion, since their parking lot is much more crowded these days than at any time since it opened.Updated 5/25/2021:. This store continues the decline that started with the advent of the pandemic. Today, they were out of many of the items for which I was shopping. Is it due to food shortages? I don't think so, since other stores don't have these problems currently. Is it due to worker shortages which leads to difficulty stocking shelves? That's a possibility, but again it is not very obvious at other stores. Is the store mismanaged? I don't know enough about the management to know for sure. As stated in my earlier review, the store is much too dinky and crowded for the size of the community it serves. That can certainly contribute to the empty shelves that are common at this store. Kroger has had years to solve this problem, but has done nothing about it. For me, Kroger has become just an occasional trip now. Other stores like Food Lion are much more dependably clean, stocked, and staffed.

I said yes to substitutions and didn't get several food items or any subs. They said I didn't respond, but I double checked my texts and emails, and there was no communication. So now I have pieces of meals.They need to service pickup customers in order of arrival. I waited 23 minutes for my groceries (with 2 kids under 5) while people who arrived after I did got their groceries.On top of all that, a couple of food items are completely incorrect.

Added edit: store branded items we usually bought have now been discontinued or been placed on a closeout. They have gained more brand name items and removed even more store brand. Definitely keeping up with demographics in the area as we have just built multiple luxury patio and apartment homes in the next half/full mile and we're right down the road from Ashley plantation, a golf course subdivision. Go figure. Bonsack Kroger is recommended if you are looking for a diverse selection of goods and international goods.EDIT: They finally renovated the bathrooms recently, and they are very nice and clean now! However they are undergoing a total store makeover- selection of items have diminished, and aisle layouts do not make sense when they used to flow fluidly... MehMost disgusting restrooms I have EVER seen. They have a good selection of items, and fair sale prices. Most store branded items are up with brand name items. The location in Bonsack is larger with a greater variety of items. Two star rating stems from lack of cleanliness in restrooms, and lack of attention to detail from employees after witnessing other customers than myself bringing it to attention

Fire the manager Debbie!I have a 17yr old son who was targeted by management and her conies because he asked fro a vacation he was promised at time of hire. He was "sent home to change his khaki shorts" because of thier dress code but the manager Debbie and Heather did not enforce the dress code on any of the females in violation working at the store. The girls were given warnings. My son asked to speak to his shop steward Local 400 who is never there and part of the management gang who would not allow him to file a grievance. He requested to file a grievance and was told " it was not his store, it was Debbie's. He was denied termination paperwork, denied grievance paperwork, he was told by another manager on duty he was allowed to leave and was given "ok" but was still fired when he returned to shift.Debbie and Heather are the worst Managers I've ever dealt with .no wonder they cant hire anyone

Granite it's the day before Thanksgiving, I understand busy time. But shelves we're empty. Either keep stocking or order more for holidays. No pies hardly, dinner rolls were slim pickings, again not horrible, love Kroger and it was holiday eve.

The only reason I'm not giving my experience a 5 star rating is because they keep rearranging the store. Even one of the employees on the floor didn't quite know where the item I was searching for was. We did find it together and everyone was courteous, helpful and kind. Just it is so confusing!

I loved shopping there always good prices. And always a sale on what I NEED. Love there bread, meats sometimes reduced. I love there desserts too, they have the Best crumb Apple PIE. And I use my coupons too.

Stopped in for 2 items.Total before Kroger "STOLE", my money!1st item:$2.892nd item $6.22Then Kroger added $.66And then taxed it all.... So not only taking $.66 they also taxed it too!My total came to $10.00So before "STEALING" my total was $9.11 plus tax.After "STEALING" $10.00So my question is... Does Kroger really need our money MORE than WE do???? I really feel for people who have families....GREAT going Kroger!!! Great way to help your customers who are going through trying times right now!!!You'll NEVER see another "PENNY" of my money EVER again!!!!
