This is the most disgusting, unorganized and under managed store I have ever been in. There are "piles" of merchandise on shelves all throughout the store that aren't in the right location. There are items and boxes all over the floor, and this is every time I go in there, so it's not like it's a truck day. The only reason I keep returning to this store is because where we live it is convenient to shop here for a few things, but this place needs new management. The clearance section had a bag of chips with the expiration date of either Oct or Nov of 2016(couldn't see the numbers well on the sticker). Come on people if you can't do the job then leave and let someone who can do so. Not to mention the safety of the customers is definitely not a goal for this store!

Rude old lady working at the register November 23rd 2018 at 10am. Seemed like she had an attitude when I simply and nicely asked her to remove an item that wasn’t meant to be purchased because it was separate. Didn’t realize it was a big deal for her to do that, even though it only took 10 seconds or less to do. It’s whatever. Atleast she was kind to the person after me, my boyfriend.

It's ok I've never been a big Dollar General fan but it was nice , clean you could buy just about anything you needed there I liked it better this time than I remembered

Very nice ..well stocked, and I feel the prices are very reasonable.. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant. I've been there several times and each time I leave I've left with a smile knowing that I have what I came in for and more 😊..

This store is most of the time dirty from the time you get out of your car and get into the store and leave. There is no organization i the store at all. Merchandise is everywhere. There is never customers service help in the store and when I have ever tried to make a conversation to lighten their day, it was never recepicated back not even with a smile. I try not to shop there unless I really really have to get something. Someone from Dollar General Corp.really needs to help get this store back to the original way it was when it first opened.

This is the only place to shop in Cumberland and the store was so nasty I would burn a tank of gas and drive to Richmond to get what I needed rather than go back here. The parking lot is disgusting. The refrigerated food section looked like something you would expect to see after a natural disaster I would not eat anything from there. The sad part is i love to shop at the DG. The corporate office needs to get involved here.

One register open 20 people waiting patiently. Ugh....the freezer box was empty and they have the nerve to ask me if I had time to wait the truck here now.bit he has to take it off the truck put on a roller and check everything in.🙄. Don't go there unless you have to.

The Dollar General in Dillwyn, VA has changed management and the store has suffered for it. The store is dirty, poorly stocked and the manager is never around to talk to. Use a different store if you want to be satisfied. Overall their prices are good and the staff is friendly.

This is one of the unsafest and unsanitary stores I have ever seen. I haven't seen a clear aisle in the store for months if it's not for the unopen containers or carts of boxes its merchandise thrown all over the floor. This is a hazard to all the customers and employees. If things do not get fixed soon here someone is going to get injured. I see a big lawsuit coming their way. Lets not get started on the staff; just rude, dirty, and lazy. Sitting on the unopen boxes playing on their phones or eat, while the rest are outside smoking. This store looks like a tornado has been through it. I have seen this store in much better shape before and hope one day it will be fixed.

Very friendly and helpful service. They were out of onion rings the day I went. 🙄🙄 How does a Burger King run out of onion rings!? A whopper just isn't the same without them.

Hometown atmosphere, local employees that know you when you come in. Variety of merchandise from food, snacks, cleaning, and medical supplies, as well as health and beauty products.

This store is absolutely horrendous. No rhyme or reason to their merchandise, the store is not lit well, it's dirty, staff could care less, prices are not that great and the list goes on and on. I would definitely NOT recommend a visit to this one. Terrible management.

I went there at 10 am register one on November 23rd of 2018 and an elderly lady (probably born in a different era) with blonde hair I might add was being quite rude to the customer in front of me.. my girlfriend the lady accidentally rung up an item that was supposed to be paid separately and when my girlfriend spoke up she gave her an attitude. Cashed her out and didn’t look at her nor speak to her. She rung up my item and then proceeded to tell me have a nice day. There was no need to be rude to my girlfriend for her ignorant mistake

I love the gang at DG in Cumberland. The store is looking great and as high a volume at that store they are really hard to keep the shelves stocked. Things have definitely improved

like the rest of Cumberland county there is trash all over the ground .Does anyone in this town and county have any pride ? I've never lived someplace so dirty.I gave 3 stars because I found a $20 bill blowing in the trashy parking lot..

Store is looking really good these days, I hate going into a sloppy store. The staff is friendly and helpful....most of the time. I shop here a lot and it seems to be getting better every time.

For a small town/county where the Dollar Store is the primary source for folks to shop they really drops the ball in providing products with any quality, inventory lacks selection and sometimes inventory. Management if there was any maybe someone could comment. Prices are high especially for quality being purchased. Unfortunately it's cheaper to drive 45 miles to Richmond or 30 miles to Farmville to do your shopping.

If you haven't been to Dollar General in awhile, they've come a long way in the last 10 years or so. In a small town like Cumberland, this is an Oasis that provides all the necessities and then some. Won't find the variety of a full scale Wal Mart, but chances are you'll find suitable products to meet your needs.

This Dollar General seems to have pretty much the usual dollar store stuff but all Grocery categories covered except fresh fruit & vegetables. So if your on a budget or a last minute fix and your regular shop at supermarket is too far away... The General's got you covered! Lol

Outside of store trash cans overflowing, cigarette butts litter the ground in front of the door. The lines of the parking lot are faded. Only one register open and bathroom door needs a new lock!

Clean store and customer service was good. The store needs to fix it's grocery belt that has been broken for at least two months. Get it fixed!

Only store in Cumberland to buy many everyday items. Only other alternative is to drive many miles to Powhatan or Farmville. These stores definitely fill a need in many small communities.

I was visiting my daughter and there's no grocery store near them. They have essential groceries and unique items to buy.
