Walmart in Culpeper is no longer customer friendly. You now have to stand in two long lines and be directed to a register. Today I had two items and was instructed to a line where a customer had a basket full of groceries, while there were two lanes that only had a few items. I took pictures and was later approached by the manager and told I could not take pictures and to leave the store. I told her about the lines and she claimed in the future there will only be 2 clerk assisted lines, the rest will be self service. I am totally turned off by the lack of customer care and having a pleasant shopping experience. The total layout of the store is a customer turnoff. The isles are now a mile long. I have been shopping at this store for 20+ years. She also said it's corporate. I called corporate, they say they are not aware of these changes. Go figure. On to Martins and Aldis I go.

Had been enjoying the values and their robust shelf stock, but since the remodel a month ago the music has gotten so loud I am driven from the store before I finish. Gone to Martin's instead. Less chaos, quiet, nand great quality there.

"If you remember what shopping was like in the pandemic, Walmart has memorialised it in their new layout. It's all about the queueing. Heck, it's almost post-British in their purported joy of queueing."_ _ _We all likely know Walmart and what to expect. It's a generally good experience and, surprisingly, the produce seems to last longer than much more expensive stores (e.g., the nearby Martin's). It even has a surprisingly good Gluten Free section, though they don't bother to have a GF marker on the majority of their produce (most stores tend not to either---it's probably not worth the expense for them). On the other hand, their recent changes boggle the mind. Other people have different, and often better photos, but while we might all be familiar with "The People of Walmart", now we should probably get familiar with "The Designers of Walmart". Why? Whomever they are, they're exceptionally odd individuals. The previous design they had was for two self checkouts at either entrance to the store (grocery; household) with maybe 8 self-checkouts each. The one at the grocery end normally had a queue, while the one at the household side didn't. There were then---what?---20-25 standard, cashier-based checkouts, of which normally on 4-6 were open. They, too, generally had large queues. Now, there are two queues feeding from either side of the store leading to a central point. It's like cattle waiting for the slaughter as you glacially reach the central point where two Walmart employees ask you whether you're self checkout or "normal" (there is nothing normal about this experience). You then are directed to another line where, if it's "normal", you queue again. There are now maybe 8 cashier checkouts and 10 self-checkouts. Yet it's more like Oprah. "You get to queue! You get to queue! You get to queue!" But queueing to go queue once again seems like the height of bad design or, perhaps, stupidity. If you remember what shopping was like in the pandemic, Walmart has memorialised it in their new layout: It's all about the queueing. Heck, it's almost post-British in their purported joy of queueing.

I hate the new layout. My frustration at the checkout area was shared by everybody around me. We had a person guide us to check out counters. Only two were open. What a stupid waste of space. While other stores are moving away from self checkout this one is adding more. I wanted to talk to a manager while I was in the store but couldn't find one. The poor guy at checkout didn't have to hear about my frustration. I have shopped at this store forever. Now I'm beginning to wonder why.

Walmart want deliver certain items that I need due critical illness and rare disorders and my dad is 81 years of age and he can barely walk and my daughter is chronically ill herself. It makes it very hard to get the items we need and especially delivering our groceries to the house would be a great blessing for us because I whole day is just going to the store pharmacy and that’s it and it’svery hard on us to the point that we just have to make due with food or over counter medication. I have a benefits card through Anthem and online online it will not take it or accept it and I have called plenty of multiple times to the representatives online with their customer phone number and they will not help me because they say they can’t get into my account well that doesn’t help me either For my day to go out since I’m on TPN for 20 hours a day and I have to carry this heavy backpack and my back is hurting. I have multiple issues and it makes it very hard for people . It makes it very difficult. So no I don’t believe not one second that they care.

Walmart is the absolute go to place to go for everyone!!!! The issue is there's never enough cashiers. There's always people working there but never enough people cashing people out. Why is this the busiest place in America and never the fastest? I love to hate this place it's like you can't live without it and that's the problem. I just want them to do better I only wish they would hire me to help?!?

Walmart Culpeper,VA 2136 is no longer customer friendly place to shop. The checkout experience is horrible. They now have you stand in 2 lines like at an amusement park or TJMAX, HomeGoods... Recently, I shopped there and was shocked when I had to stroll down a long line that forced me to enter to checkout. I only had two items and I was instructed to go to a register where the person in front of me had a basket full of groceries while there were two registers opened with shoppers who only had a few items like me. When I challenged the clerk she told me I had to go to the line with full basket. After checking out, I took some pictures of this new layout and the manager approached me and told me I was not allowed to take and to leave the store. Before I left I voiced my dissatisfaction about the new check out process and she informed me that moving forward there would only be 2 manned registers and the rest will be self checkout. She claimed this was per corporate. This will be a horrible experience. When I called corporate they said they knew nothing of this change. Upon researching this further, I found out this is at the local store distraction of store management. Stores across the country are starting to reverse their decision about self checkout because of theft and customer complaints. I have shopped at this store for over 20 years and have enjoyed interacting with the cashiers. Now they will fire all the cashiers and create a miserable customer experience. I know I can shop elsewhere, that is not the point. I like shopping at this store and I should not be forced to use self checkout and stand in long lines. Walmart stop the madness! I posted this on my local community neighborhood website and people are not happy.

I placed an online order which included Brioche Bread from the bakery. The order was scheduled to be delivered between 9-10 am. I checked my order at 7:30 and saw that the bread was marked unavailable. I attempted to get a substitution through the app to no avail. I then called the local store to which they told me that they could not substitute the item because the entire order had already been closed out.i also called the corporate Walmart number and they too Said it was too late to change the unavailable status. My frustration Is that they market as unavailable from the beginning. You're telling me there's no other bread in all of Walmart? You couldn't have substituted it with another form of bread? Well everyone I spoke to was kind, the online order and pick up system definitely needs some editing.

Their ground beef purchased on 5/1/24 gave me E-Coli. All I wanted was tacos for dinner instead got the worst gastrointestinal mayhem I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. 0/10

With new renovations you barely can't find anything, they need a sign saying where thing is located instead the customers are going up & down the aisle several times.

I enjoy going into Walmart early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Buttttt!! I don’t like only having access to “Self Checkout”. It’s not my thing and I’m not an “Employee”. At least have 1 register open for us to engage with a “human” without having to scan our own purchases. Period!!

Having just about anything, one would need and the line of food help or hardware . Add a fair price which is great for the retired people and lower income. People who patronize the store.

So I went in on black Friday to see ps5 deals so maybe could get one for my son.So go in back and see one with yellow tag for $363 or 353,so run over and get girl and said I want this, now do I pay now or come back when finished shopping so girl says go finish shopping. So I come back about 20 minutes later to buy it. And the girl is gone and another employee says oh, i'm sorry, we can't hold things, I said what do you mean? I didn't ask you all to hold anything. Your employee said to go finish shopping. Show I go to the front desk And tell the people what happened, So the lady said i'm sorry I'll handle it So I called the complaint line got a number. Never heard anything call back 5 days later, they said. Oh, we had your number wrong. I'm sorry now here It is about 18 days later and I finally get a call and tell the girl what happened and she says. Oh, I'm sorry I'll talk to the people back there and that's how it ends. All because of their employee mistake. I thought I was getting my son PS5 for Christmas. And they couldn't even say oh. We'll come in and we'll give you a discount on one of the other ones or anything like that. Just totally blew off Basically my complaint without trying to make it right.Really never expected this from Walmart UNBELIEVABLE! Gave them one star for finally calleding back!-Jesse Romine

Under some reconstruction. Given that place was typically Walmart busy, but very clean and alises where free of items to be stocked and there was plenty of check lines open .Keep up the great work

HORRIBLE!!!! This is the second time that I have bought spoiled orange juice that was dated to expire in March of this year. I got sick from it. They will put food and stuff out that had expired. They sell it as it's OK.Stay away!!!!

I have to say that previously I didn't give high marks to this store or the one in warrenton due to a very poor selection of local products. Specifically breweries. I posted a photo of the warrenton sites brew for that location previously.. However, today that had changed for this location. I found they've installed a low profile double sided cooler in the alcohol section that now contains a wide variety of local and craft brews. I've provided a photo of this great upgrade. Stay thirsty my friends!

Most items stocked. 3stars for that&the employees working hard to fill shelves.Only 2 cash registers actually had employees working them in the whole super Walmart store (two or 3 to a register&2employees standing watching the one of a group of 3 work....didn't make sense to me but maybe they are training or their for checkout support? ). If you have more then 10items in your cart some of the lines turn their light off...like here in photo as two people in line behind me (also with full carts) got to check out first because the staff was helping her friends checking out -while her light was off.???I might head back to target for our weekly trip as Walmart has serious upper management LACKING organization and basic, register training skills.I'm almost embarrassed for them.Picking who you turn your light on or off for is ridiculous.

This is the best Wal-Mart with the most friendliest as well as kindest staff who work so diligently to keep customers happy and prices low. From Garden, Automotive, to Fresh Groceries, and everything in between, they offer everything you may need. The store is always organized and everything is easy to find. Self checkout is a breeze and parking is always easy.

It's pretty decent as far as Walmarts go. I will say that their fruit section needs better people working in it because they put a lot of stuff out that shouldn't even be on the shelf because it's either covered in mold or smashed up etc

10/10 experience. Definitely the best Walmart I have ever been to. I bought a Halloween Fox Mask at this Walmart location this morning. My mom and I found this mask and immediately came up with a dubious plan. We decided we would purchase the mask and use it to horrify my younger sister (who is afraid of foxes). After her shower, I stood in the closet and waited for the moment to strike. The mask absolutely scared the life out of her. She may not want to talk to me at the moment, but it was absolutely hilarious and 100% worth it. The mask is very realistic, comfortable, and has nice features such as eyes you can actually see out of and a separate bottom jaw that moves when you speak. It was the best $16.94 I've ever spent and I would 100% recommend this Walmart to anyone. Can’t wait to come back!

One of the worst managed stores I have ever been to.As a handicapped person , one would think that the handicap spaces at the front of the store would be reserved for handicapped customers...but , no.Their handicapped employees watch for each other , if there isn't one close to the main entrance and go out and jockey their personal vehicles around to grab the prime spots.... I have witnessed this for myself. Then on break , they go sit in their cars to eat lunch and chain smoke cigarettes.... they should have a designated parking area for the employees.... NOT the prime handicap spaces at the main entrance .
