I went in for a few items this time and there were no lines. Which was nice, however my roommate and I encounter a rude cashier who started our checkout wrong. She did not greet us, she just began flinging our groceries across to the sweet young man assisting her. My roommate went to give her the savings card she said what do you need but with a disgusting attitude. I asked her about the card savings as Ive had issues with it working she said well I need the card. I stated she had been given the card. She said well I need it again. I was already feeling off from her demeanor so I snapped back. Told her she was being rude. Her response was I am not so stop. Then stated I can be rude. She then stated she had already been cursed out today. I stated I can see why. I then spoke to a manager who stated this was not the first time and apologized. Martins really should do better as they are expensive yet people shop there when they could go to any of the other 4 stores local. Might as well go through regular checkout, you'll need to have the attendant scan their ID about 5 times anyway if you go through self checkout. Most sensitive registers I've ever used. Nobody's stealing bananas on Martin's watch!

Produce section stinks. Fruits and veggies are wilted, half rotted and this week I saw mold on the broccoli. Half the shelves are empty with product. Please! Get a different manager. No other stores are in such condition.

Great clean store Friendly employees one of only places in town to get fresh fish and lobster crab and shrimp. Little to no lines except weekends which is normal. High quality brands little pricey though. Lidl or Aldi if on a budget.

Never have been to a Martin's grocery store before. Well I was not disappointed! I actually found products that I can actually eat due to my diet restrictions. I will be shopping here again soon!

This grocery store is ridiculous. The out of dates on the shelves as well as quality of fresh products is disturbing. Not to mention when employees want to come and argue over out of date product on the shelf. After today's treatment and wanting to argue with 3 different customers in your check out lines stating the issues after pulling out of date candy that you claim is just fine makes it more adamant how my family needs to never shop in this store again. I feel like taking back all the groceries just bought so I can take my business elsewhere. When multiple customers were spoken to the way we were shows how sorry of a management team you have for this store and that nothing ever changes. There is a clear reason the turn over is high in this particular store. I've emailed both Luke and Scott to handle today's incident. I'm sure nothing will come of it as that is the normal for this company. If your smart take your business elsewhere. Weis on the other side of town is good or if you feel like driving please check out Harris Teeter!!!

My partner and I shop at the Culpeper Martin's every weekend, primarily because of their wide selection of items. I rarely post reviews online but wanted to share about the poor customer service I received today from the cashier in hopes that improvement might be made. The name on my receipt was Leilah and the level of disinterest and unfriendliness was unrivaled. She never smiled or spoke to me or my partner (even when spoken to) except to ask if I had a bonus card. When I thanked her at the end of my transaction there was no reply. I don't expect a lot from cashiers but a certain level of respect and common courtesy goes a long way.

Food, Glorious Food...A nice grocery store, packed with almost every ingredient you need to whip up everything from a delightful dish or a simple, quick nosh. Our robot overlords watch vigilantly, making sure spills and their unintended thrills don't ruin an otherwise bountiful shopping experience. Although startling at first, the beeping, goofy looking, googly eyed monster is rather endearing. If they could only be just as vigilant about the bathrooms, and their cleanliness and functionality, that would lend itself to another star on the ratings.

Clean store, even the bathroom. They have waterless urinals, which is extremely environmentally friendly. Everything that Giant has on sale is on sale at Martin's. They use the same POP and have a great store layout, even if the entrances are a little inconvenient.

This is a place that insists on treating its employees awfully and having managers that do not want to support assist when staff is short in departments. My wife works in the deli and constantly tells me how she is short staffed, how the department manager does little to nothing to help, how the store manager does nothing to help, how overwhelmed she is. It is infuriating how this can just happen and I refuse to support a business that treats a loved one let alone an employee in such a manner. Do not shop at this Martin's.

Have repeatedly experienced employees who are not trained and very immature acting within the store and during grocery pickup. Management makes excuses for their behavior and lack of skills. It would be a better grocery store if took care of these issues. Also, their prices are not comparable to other stores. Not worth paying more for your items to only go check out and deal with rude and ignorant cashiers/managers.

A little bit overpriced. It's Giant Grocery pretty much. Strange smell when you walk in. Friendly service from the older crowd. The younger crowd seems a little uptight. The meat section is okay. It's really the only decent store in the area so we are forced to go there. I miss Wegmans. 😢

Wonderfully kept store - clean and well stocked. We enjoy their fresh bakery items as well as their selection of meats and seafood. Love getting the peel and eat shrimp which they will steam spicy for you in a matter of minutes - we get ours heavily spiced! This location has a pharmacy and small floral department.

Good place for grocery, the staff is nice and you can always get in and out quickly with the 10 self checkout registers and cashiers that are available. They have lots of variety and specialty items which is wonderful. Sometimes the freshness is lacking but with the economy these days, it’s still my favorite place to shop, especially since I can get gas rewards after I shop.

They charge $9 for a sandwich, which I thought was kinda steep, but they do pile the meat on and the roast beef is top quality.

I love their produce and healthy selections, but I am writing today about their gas. I usually don’t get gas at martins, but today I tried it and was greeted by Clifford the attendant. I was exhausted and he saw my handicap sticker and asked if he could help by pumping my gas for me. I sat in the car while he handled everything with the most cheerful smile and kindest eyes. I have not really come here to pump gas before but I will be back again not just for the gas but to thank and see Clifford. Clifford you were God’s gift to me today thank you 😊

If hours have been changed they should be updated on each door. Tried to go in with my mom and door said they close at 11 employee saw us walk in rolled his eyes didnt greet us or say absolutely anything about them closing an hour early and then goes on the overhead speaker and says they will be closing in 1 minute. I dont know why he didnt have the curtesy to just politely come up to us to let us know instead of acting annoyed we were even there. The new hours arent on the door so im sorry im not a mind reader. Not to mention my mom and i are minorities he didnt tell us but he did come up to the Caucasian male that tried to come in after us to tell him the hours changed. I had to walk back in and ask him myself if they had changed their hours I didnt have the curtesy of being told. I love shopping here but now ill think 2x before considering going customer service tonight was terrible.
