Shopping at Lidl was a reasonable experience. The store offered a good selection of groceries and household items at competitive prices, providing some value for money. The layout of the store was organized, making it relatively easy to find what I was looking for. The staff was helpful and polite, making the shopping process more pleasant. While the store's overall atmosphere was functional, it didn't have the same level of variety and ambience as some other grocery stores. The quality of the products was satisfactory, and I appreciated the range of international and specialty items available. The checkout process was efficient, and I didn't encounter any major issues during my visit. Lidl is a suitable option for everyday grocery shopping, especially for those seeking affordable options and basic necessities. While it may not offer as many premium or specialty products, it delivers on providing accessible and budget-friendly shopping for essential items.

My wife and I drove about 20 miles to shop at this Lidl since there will be one just down the road from us. We also want to see how much it compares to the ones we have gone shopping in when we lived in Germany. Close but still not the same. I wish that you could buy the exact same products that you find in Germany (canned and boxed goods etc.) in the stores here that way you will be getting a real choice of the food you want to eat. We still liked the store though and we did pick up a few items that we wanted and have not found in some of the other stores we shop at. Prices are reasonable to any of the other stores we shop.

Store is good ok. Nothing wrong I would recommend prices are higher than normal but that's the prez. Anyway not quite as big selection as regular grocer well known established chain but not far off.

Prices have gone up, the ailes are over crowded with promo merchandise, and the selection of basic meats was poor. Lidl has definitely gone down hill.

Clean grocery store with wide aisles and a nice layout. Lots of organic/natural offerings and their produce section is excellent. Prices have been pretty good for most items. Staff has been friendly and helpful for the most part.Haven't had much luck with their shopping app (not the location's fault).Update July 2020 - Taking off a star due to lack of following any sort of Covid-19 protocol. Many employees not wearing masks/not wearing them properly. No one counting customers to limit the number of people in the store - despite this being in their published protocols. Cart disinfecting is spotty - on one trip to the store, there was an employee with a dirty paper towel and NO disinfectant wiping down carts haphazardly with the same towel over and over.

Prices are better than at your average grocery store. They also have many unique items, great candy and bakery gifts.too. Sometimes the lines are long but they work fast. I wish the Culpepper location had self checkout. It's usually clean and well stocked. They do have restrooms. They have a customer program and an app. They have weekly specials. Plenty of parking. Nice wide aisles for carts, strollers and wheelchairs. This location never seems super super busy, which is a plus. I do wish the I had.more benefits from the reward program. It's doesn't seem to get me the extra discounts I would like.

There was frozen food defrosting in the aisle with no one wine for the 30 min I was there. They say fresh, never frozen, but it IS frozen. I've bought it .75 frozen.Produce goes bad quickly. Eggs are cheap enough. I like the Greek/everything aisle.

Extremely DISAPPOINTED!! Went there Super Bowl Sunday morning and they didn’t half of what was on sale anymore. 4 days later I go to use the onions I purchased and they were ALL rotten already, all 4 of them, and yes I stored them correctly! The avocados were also so ripe the next day I had to hurry up use all 3 of them! This was my first and LAST time going to this place. TERRIBLE produce that’s either already ripe or just about to rot the day you bye it!

fun shopping with unexpected deals like gelato or meats. Was surprised by the excellent variety. My husband loved the IPAs prices,, and I liked the rewards system, Can be your stand-alone grocery and perfect for careful shoppers who like to find unusual items

Great place for groceries at decent prices. While you wouldn’t always find brand name items, their products are up to par as any other. The wines are especially good even though they are inexpensive. Waiting on line is minimal, especially on the weekdays. The only downside is you have to pack your own groceries and no gas rewards but I still shop there now and again.

Nice clean store. Better prices than most American based grocery outlets on staples. Most store brands are equal to, or better than the name brands (box mac n cheese, I'm looking at you) Bring your own bags.

I always love going in here. Always save money. And never walk out empty handed. Some items are a little pricey but others can be a good deal. Love that I can get paper bags, which I can recycle or compost. Have never had any issues and will definitely be back.

My base store, i loved to go there at least 3 times a week for basic things, love the stuff weekly from all around the world. Bakery is awsome, workers are good and store is always clean.

You will typically have a choice between their off-brand item or one other, but that's about it. If you need to leave empty handed, good luck. Has to resort to ducking under one of their many excessive barriers. I understand theft protection, but at least open the barrier behind the cashier... Not that I have to try to squeeze through the many people waiting in line to leave.

Ok selection and prices are reasonable. 1st time shopper to Lidl, so was aware of the checkout process to grab bags prior and bag your own items. Seems like I can get better from Foodlion or Safeway.

I love coming here during the holiday months because they have lots of European holiday snacks and desserts you won't find any other place or time! The produce and meat is very fresh here and I usually wait to buy veggies until I can make a trip here. The only downside is that there's often a long line until someone can provide backup, but the wait isn't too long.

I will never go back to this store. The manager implied I am a liar when she was the one who lied. Did not appreciate her attitude, am now shopping at Walmart instead. I am telling everyone to NOT shop here unless you want to be insulted by management. Never again!!!!!Would have given a big fat zero if able to...

I will never buy pork from this store again. Have got rotten pork chops 2 times, pork loin once and just got ribs and pork chops that were very rotten. My wife and I about gagged and it stunk the whole house up. I’m sick and tired of wasting my money here on rotten food. Going back tomorrow to see if I can get refunded. If not we will be turning this location into health department. This has happened 5 times in the past year.

New grocery store chain of German ownership. Great prices on both private and national brands with many unique items. Great beer and wine selection but mostly unknown brands. In-store bakery makes great breads and rolls. Fresh produce section is always well stocked. Visit weekly to find great deals on special buy merchandise such as clothing, tools, etc. My only complaint is that they are only open until 9PM.

The store is clean and organized. The grocery prices are affordable on a regular basis and more so when on sale. The fresh meat is worth the price. I am skeptical about buying packaged meat at most grocery stores. Meat at this store is not overly salty from preservatives nor is the beef so full of tenderizers that the taste of the meat is over powered. The bakery is an added bonus for buyers of fresh bread, donuts, pastries, etc. In case you are like me and dread public restrooms, the facilities are clean and stocked with paper products. There are a couple con's about Lidl. If you are looking for frozen juice concentrate you won't find it. There are a few other items you won't find such as grits, cream of wheat, and a few other items. Another issue is that the produce is not the same from one week to another. These issues are not a problem since there are many other grocery stores nearby. Overall, the wallet wins and that ranks high on my list. I'm glad we have Lidl.

Great food selection and really good deals. Store is always stocked full and clean. My little one loves the kid carts she can push around and checkout lines move fast. Love shopping for produce here and the pizzas cook up wonderfully in the oven.

Very good value on basics such as eggs, butter, veggies & fruits. Good customer service. Very good attention to COVID safety!! Very good non GMO/no antibiotics chicken. Good selection of steaks which are generally very tender. I like the frozen Indian cuisine meals (butter chicken, spinach pander, etc.)

Very good selection of food. Clean, organized, easy to find what you're looking for, fresh... What more can you ask from a grocery. But they do go above and beyond that. They are about 10 - 15% cheaper than the local Walmart for groceries.

Always an experience. I like discovering the different fruits and vegetables you might nit fund at other grocers. I also like the fresh bread from the bakery and the big array of cheeses.

It's a nice grocery store and they have some unique and different items but not enough to win me over from my usual grocery store. They do have reasonably priced organic milk and cage free eggs, so I will go back for those items. We tried their cheese pizza and it had a strange aftertaste. Produce was okay. I bought a bag of onions for .99 and they're pretty rotten only a week later. Get what you pay for.

I actually enjoyed walking the aisles and finding reasonably priced treasures and tasty delights. I'll be shopping there more often.
