I visit this Food Lion very often as this is the closest grocery store to my house. I like everyone who works here. They are super friendly and helpful.

Being used to going to chain grocery stores I kinda expected this to be similar but maybe lacking in a few things but not everything.Checking out looked hellaciously long, which is why we went nextdoor to the Walgreens. I was able to get my specific eye care product that wasn't expired. However Walgreens did have a bottle of cleaning eye care liquid that was going to expire next month. But did have something better just behind it.I cannot fault Food Lion too much for expired care products but expired food is a completely different scenario and dangerous to those who don't actually check out the labelIt's a shame when I look at the previous reviews it looks like this was a good place at one time. But unfortunately since I'm from an area where there are multiple stores in competition for your shopping cart goods, they tend to be forced to make sure you don't have expired food etc

I've had a few instances of expired food being purchased. One was a bag of molding potatoes that somehow made it through checkout when a friend went shopping for dinner. Every carton of food lion brand eggs I have ever gotten has had partially formed embryos in the eggs. Every single one. I always buy better brands of eggs or get them locally sourced because food lion gets bad mass raised chicken eggs with poor quality. It makes me lose my appetite to see eggs crack open and awhite sack comes out with it. I would avoidshopping at food lion if Hall's wasnt so expensive and Walmart wasnt so far away.

this place is one of the worst food lions I have ever shopped at or even worked at. filled with unprofessional employees. and a system that is unforgiving to training new employees. their deli team is very hateful and rude. talking down about employees who can not catch on to their poor training skills. if they do not like you they will do everything in their power to make sure you feel terrible about yourself in an attempt to get you to quit. the management teams are unaware and careless about the wrong doings going on in the store. what should be a wonderful place to work for is honestly terribke. they do not let you know if you are fired. they just take you off the schedule. their hot chicken has been raw twice when I got it.. for shopping it's the only place in town with decent prices but I don't recommend ever working for CB food lion

Good enough, for drinks and maybe a quick bite to eat. Food need to seriously step up their game (a new chef)...not that great.You can't beat the location and atmosphere. Bring bug spray to sit outside! Flys are bothersome.

been going here for a while now and one thing I notice is the cashiers are SLOW! minimum 15 minutes to checkout, thought is was the older lady but the young ones are just as slow, maybe let us bag our own groceries or put in a self checkout.

They say they're is a sell on avocados for $3.99 when you get checked out they charge you full price $4.99. This happened twice in 3 days to me. Keep your eyes on the sale prices at check out, make sure the receipt matches the sale price. That's a lot of money someone is getting at the end of the day and it sure as hell ant the consumer.

Most, not all, of the cashiers at this store need in depth, pass or fail, keep your job or get fired customer service training. Their rudeness and " could care or less" attitudes are deplorable!

It's always clean when we come in. Billie at the deli is awesome. I never have an issue finding what I need. My mom was looking for mild sausage which they were out of but other than that we were satisfied with our trip.

Loved Food lion for years. Went to many on the east coast. Wuhan popped up and I had a few experiences in store that pushed me to write a complaint. I'm not much in particular to complain about stuff unless I can verbalize it in person. The staff I dealt with were terribly unprofessional. I emailed corporate and simply stated I will no longer frequent Food lion. I know some folks that work there and this is not directed at them. Just set such a poor impression on me that I'd rather pay more than give them my money.

This is a very nice Food Lion and it is run well. They have very fresh produce and fruits! They also keep many lines open with several cashiers during busy times.

Food line in King George is my store, their meats are great, they're doing work at King George inside, I would have rather had it left the way it was, because then I could find things, but they are making improvements, and they even have a fresh seafood counter. Now, I still prefer meats from my king, George Food Lion their beef is always tender, they've gone up a little bit on their price, but it's still worth it.

It's going to be very nice once the remodel is complete. It appears there will be a more vast selection. I truly hope so because there is no Giant, Wegmans or Publix anywhere near Colonial Beach and we need more variety, more ready to go meals and sandwiches. Definitely need more vegetarian selections too. My favorite cashier is Victoria, she's always friendly and efficient.

The staff have always been excellent. It is a bit small so their selection is sometimes not great, and their prices are higher than average, but not crazy. Very conveniently located as it is the only full grocery store in town.

This foodlion location is extremely convenient to were i live, and every visit is pleasant and the store clean and stocked. Until recently they have had a store associate who is extremely rude and unattentive. My wife and i were in the store this passed week and they only had one register open for a store full of people. And this associate was sitting on the floor in the front of the store putting stickers on items, which is fine im sure she was doing her job. But i noticed she kept looking up at her co-worker who had a line full of people.And after every sticker she applyed she would look up and i noticed she started getting slower and slower with putting stickers on merchandise. Almost as if she was trying to look like she was "busy." So the manager says "open your line and help her." So the associate stands up and walks over to her register, at which point she says nothing to anyone she just stands there and looks around and turns her light on. She doesnt invite anyone or explain that she is open. So me and my wife get in her line at which the couple behind us follow and she yells at her manager "Oh, i have to take all these people!?" So i walk up to her and say "Hello how are you?" She doesnt reply to me. my wife tries to hand her our MVP card, and she just ignores her completely. At the end of our transaction my wife, despite how rude this employee has been to us said "Thank you." And the associate doesnt even looks at us, she just hands us our recipet andproceeded with the couple behind us. Again i have no issue with this store, we have always had a pleasant experience until recently. Im not trying to bash anyone i just know its people like this that gives the business a bad image.

I don't wish to speak badly about Food Lion. Lets just say there are much better options in and around Colonial Beach. Drive an extra mile and go to Hall's. You will be much, much happier.

Guys, this is the go-to. I always come here for fresh produce, dairy, chicken, and even steak. Everything really except fresh fish. If you don't want to deal with Walmart aesthetic or Fredericksburg people, then this is where it's at. Make sure you're an MVP (free rewards program) and get the app or go online to get your coupons loaded. It will make the price comprable to Walmart and sometimes cheaper.
