As Always The Food was phenomenal!We ordered NY Strips and a order Crab Legs for My Bf and My baby Rolo loves steak so he got one as well. I ordered Shrimp Linguine. It was amazing. We ordered then took home to eat.The best place to eat in this little town if u want something that's not processed /fast food. Wish we had more selection closer to home. Shame we have to drive 30- 45 mins to have an actual variety of places to choose anything.... Food, clothing, restaurants

This is old-school Italian that broke our travel dining rule of "an empty parking lot means the food is bad". My husband and I were hesitant to stop here because there never seemed to be any customers. After getting a glowing recommendation from the lady with the Commissioner of Renevue and from our hotel's desk staff (who all recommended calling ahead), we gave it a try. The owner does it all - waiter, chef, cashier - and the menu was right... this is fine dining food, not fast food.This was one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten in a blissfully soothing atmosphere. Softly playing classical music. White tablecloth topped with clear plastic. China plates. Glass salad plate. Water goblet, not a plastic cup. Yes, it does take some time between ordering and eating but it's worth the wait.We ordered the herbed olive oil with Italian bread to dip for an appetizer. My husband ordered the baked angel hair pasta with marinara. I ordered the fettuccine carbonara and a salad with Mediterranean salad dressing. Both dinners came with garlic toast.The olive dipping oil was wonderful. I wish there was more bread served with it & will probably order 2 portions if we make it back to Clintwood. Every vegetable in the salad was cut small enough that I didn't need to cut it again at the table. It had been tossed with the perfect amount of dressing so all I had to do was eat it. My carbonara was not what I expected since I don't make mine with an alfredo base nor do I add bits of broccoli - I use bacon, white wine, parm & an egg - but it was outstanding. The fettuccine was perfectly cooked & bathed in a creamy sauce with flecks of broccoli and tiny pieces of ham. (I would have licked the plate but we were in public.) My husband said his pasta was very good. He didn't elaborate but he did eat it all & it was a big portion.If we ever go back to Clintwood, we will definitely be eating here again.

If you find yourself in Clintwood, VA it is worth the time to stop at Valentino’s!! The food, service and atmosphere are amazing. The owner does it all from greeting you, serving and cooking the most delicious food. The restaurant is cash only but it is worth the trip to the ATM. Best Fettuccine Alfredo that I have had in ages! The garlic bread is so garlicky and buttery that it melts in your mouth…..I am sad that we are only in town for three weeks for work.

We were traveling through to visit family and had a bad experience at the subway so we stopped here. There was one customer finishing up and then we were the only ones in there. AC not much for such a hot day and it seemed to irritate the owner when we moved to a table farther back and under the fan in a cealinh and a/c outlet in the cealing although we left nothing at the first table and we pushed the chairs in politely he didn't feel like they were pushed him far enough I guess and seemed rude about it by shoving them hard against the table.Although the food was pretty good the service was absolutely slow! Took 25 minutes for the appetizer ( garlic knots) which was overdone and dry and a good 50 minutes to an hour for the food.We asked for as an appetizer because we were so hungry and it took forever to get them. Asked for ranch dressing to dip them in and never got and they were overdone and very dry. Would have been nice to have some garlic butter to dip them in as the little bit that was in the bottom of the plate it was served on was not much.Still had to ask for ranch dressing after our food arrived and finally got some but not enough for two people.My food was fresh and pretty good ( calazone) but my daughter wasn't crazy about her sub.Probably a better place for call in and carry out but way too small and tight for inside dining!A little too cheap on drink refills and the extras we asked for and should have already got with the order.Price was ok but not up to par for the very slow service and extras and refills not brought although we did get one refill after we were finished eating.Not recommended for inside dining!

Food and service was GREAT! As I was leaving the parking lot, the owner came rushing out to my truck. (I thought maybe I shorted him $$...). I rolled down my window only to hear him ask, "...did I need silverware?" What a nice guy!

Very good food that's decently priced. The atmosphere is small, but cozy, and very clean. Warm and welcoming staff. It is cash only which is a slight annoyance, but that annoyance is compensated overwhelmingly by the many options of fresh and tasty items on the menu. The restaurant is small so if you have a group of people its best if you order out, but for couples this is a fantastic option. Just lay back and enjoy the quietness and hospitality.

I have eaten at good restaurants all over the US and the only issue I can find with this one is that it’s too far away from home. The Italian egg drop soup is not simple but it’s simply delicious! Take the owner and chef’s recommendations - he is awesome. This is a wonderfully personable and unique restaurant that is all about really really good home cooking.

Literally my new favorite restaurant! The man who runs the restaurant is so sweet and makes my day. He does everything himself. I want to let people know to bring cash because he does not accept cards. Other than that his food is wonderful and a great price!

One guy. He's the chef, busboy, waiter, manager, cashier, janitor, and I think he also lives in an apartment in the back. Known for being super slow, which sounds about right under the circumstances. He offers a big menu with lots of choices, and his food is good. Order ahead and give him a chance, you won't leave hungry.

Worth the drive. Intimate, soft ambience. You're greeted by a soft spoken man in cook's attire waiter, cook sole employee. Menu choices varied and large. Cooked fresh. Good Italian cuisine. Will return. Owner is very attentive a pleasurable dining experience. Not fancy just good simple fare.

Service is polite, nice and it is a quiet place to dine. The menu is extensive... a large array of soups, pastas, pizzas, salads, steaks, I mean a lot of stuff.This place is small, but the music is well balanced and tasteful as the food: jazzy, classical, and ambient. Decor is humble, but nice and bright.I'm still amazed how they can provide such a diverse menu, and keep everything fresh to serve. Be prepared with cash to pay, and with patience while the food is made.

By far one of my favorite places to eat!! This is a wonderful dining establishment with some of the best food around. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant, and there's usually no one there. You'll want to go here when you have the time, as there is only one man taking the orders and cooking the food. But it is well worth the wait. Go with a couple of friends and just sit and talk, enjoy yourself while you wait for your food.

A one man operation does it all. Food was edible. A person familiar with Italian trading cuisine will not be impressed. Lasagne seemed to be made with ground veal. Service was good. One of the few real restaurants in the region. Taken in the regional context it was ok. Better restaurants are 45 minutes or more away. Call ahead it's like eating at mom's from scratch when mom is not italian. Plan on the whole evening.
