Awesome PetCo in the area. I get all my kitten supplies here. The staff here are really nice too and it’s clear they love working with pets. My first time here was especially memorable since I was shopping for my new kitten (first pet I’ve ever owned) and was a little anxious. The checkout lady was very sweet and helped me out in my purchases and walking me through the PetCo rewards system.

I had came to this Petco today with my children and they were going to get some fish and while looking we noticed over 50 fish were dead in total out of all the tanks and it is so sad that these poor fish have lousy unpleasant workers to deal with and they are in such bad conditions. It’s very very sad to see and my kids also feel very unsafe around the workers.

Went shopping for a few things for my fur baby. Customer service was great. I was however, very disappointed as to the quantity of clothing they do not have as they did when they first opened a few years ago.

The employees are super nice and very helpful. I only deal with the fish part. They get in species that are not the same all the time. The tanks are very well maintained. Also they carry live plants. Very good store. The picture I provided has the aquarium, fish, glass cover, heater, canister filter, substrate, and most of the plants that were purchased at Petco.

If you need live crickets for your reptiles do not come here!! But then online. Every box had dead crickets in them. I told some associates and all they had to say was “oh yeah we know”. I asked why don’t you take them off the shelves? “They shrugged”. The crickets had flies in them and stunk so bad that it was unbearable. Don’t waste your money here! Buy them online. Much cheaper!

The business I buy live mice from went out of business. When I came into the store in Christiansburg VA and ask if they had love mice the attendant took me straight to them and help me right away. I was very pleased with the attention and quickness of the entire visit.

If Revelation Reptiles had not gone out of business, I would not bother with this place.I went in on 8/7/23 to get more crickets from the counter and no one was working the front. I waited for about 5 minutes and then went towards the back trying to find someone. I literally only need to get crickets once a week from the counter and since I live 30 minutes away, I always try to get in and out. I saw one guy in a black shirt shuffling through dog food bags. I did what I thought you were supposed to do, especially since I could not see a name tag, and politely asked him if he worked there. He proceeded to readjust his shirt, to where I could finally see a small Petco logo, and said "What do you think?"I was really shocked. I know retail work is demanding and often thankless and I try to always be respectful, but I was not happy this how this worker answered. Maybe if I had run up screaming and shouting I would have gotten a different response. After telling him what I was looking for and how no one was up front to check people out, I got my item and left.Really disappointed. Sorry that a person is so miserable in their work that they feel like giving a smarta** response makes them "witty" or better than everyone else when in reality it shows that they are a weak person. I really wish Revelation Reptiles had not gone out of business.

Rikki is our groomer whom I trust with my very best friend, which says a lot! My sweet girl always comes back smelling so fresh, shedding so much less, and with perfectly short and rounded nails. My dog actually gets excited to go see her favorite groomer! Couldn’t suggest this place enough, thank you for your continual kindness and patience with the dogs you help!

Saw a leopard gecko at Petco, and I was quite shocked that it was still alive. It made me sick to my stomach. This is absolutely disgusting, and I heavily recommend going to Petsmart instead. One star is high praise for Petco.

They are cohabbing ball pythons and bearded dragons together its not right to do that I have Reptiles and I do not keep them together only when breeding and then the male only stays 2 days in with the female come on yall can do better!!

Clean store for the most part, some areas have animal smells, but it's an animal store so it comes with the territory.Stafford generally nice and helpful, though last time I went took a while for someone to come up to the register to help us. In fairness, it was getting close to closing time so they may have been shutting down the store.

Ordered item for shipping, a week and a half still waiting. Store disorganized , but cashier was very nice. Item on website stated one price but went to store and was 20 dollars more. Will not be returning

I was very pleased to find out you have curbside pickup because I'm elderly and some items, like the litter I just purchased, are too heavy for me to load into my car. I was there a little after 5 in the evening and saw that the store was somewhat busy so I had no problem if it would've taken a bit longer to have the items brought out to my car. I called the phone number and let the clerk know I was there to pick up and he very quickly brought the litter out to the car for me. Very pleased with your service and will definitely be purchasing from you again and recommending PetCo to others. Plus your price for the litter I wanted in particular was a good price.

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY FROM Christansburg Petco!! They sold me a bonded ferret without telling me that she was bonded, so she was refusing to eat or drink until reunited with her brother. However they did cut us a discount on the brother after we had to drive another 3 hour round trip to get him after being lied to multiple times when the store manager was going to even be there to be able to speak to her. That’s not even the biggest issue. They told me they were sisters. Turns out one of them is a male. Which could have caused a problem with my other male. They quite obviously know nothing about the pets they are selling and just sell you whatever. Dealing with them was a huge migraine and I recommend just steer clear.

This review involves animal harm: you have been warned.Petco is great for getting cheap tanks and supplies, and they always have good deals going on for cat litter and food. But DO NOT BUY RODENTS HERE. Please.I knew about rodent mills and how poorly these animals were treated before they get to petco, but I still bought a hamster here for my son. It died before we got home. They replaced it no questions asked, but then an employee said “oh that makes sense, this batch came in with wet tail”. Wet tail is a deadly (if untreated) hamster disease. They swapped it out but the little guy didn’t make it 24 hours. He was slow and tired and sickly when we got him. We took the cash refund the next time.This isn’t even petco employees fault, it’s corporate, they chose to support unsustainable, horrible practices. Look up rodent mills and you’ll see what I mean- crowded cages, hamsters literally thrown into boxes, dead animals being tossed in the trash like rubbish. It’s horrifying. It’s the same for PetSmart too, so don’t think you’ll get better results from them.This is a good store, I do think the employees are nice and the prices are good, but I really wish they’d stop selling hamsters and other small animals unless their corporate overlords change the practice to support better breeders.

I found some good deals on discounted items for my sister who feeds a few feral cats, but two of the items that I planned to purchase were priced incorrectly on the shelf. The cashier rectified the problem. I shop at Petco on a regular basis and am always pleased with the array of products.

Just hate how overpriced everything is at these box pet stores. They also did not have the size I needed in stock for a dog cone collar and they cost twice as much compared to when I had to buy one at the vets.

I like this place but i feel like the prices are a little high but then again it's good quality products so if you're looking for a nice collar for a good price go to Wal-Mart. If you are looking for a "nice" expensive one come here. We come here for the heavy duty and we have to have the "heavy duty. The fish are pretty and look healthy. Customer service is good. Everyone is always nice and courteous.
