I recently visited the Home Depot on Jefferson Davis Hwy in Chester, and overall, I had a pretty good experience. The garden center was definitely the highlight of my trip. They had a ton of colorful plants and products that would make any outdoor living space feel like a whole vibe. I was impressed by the variety and quality of the products, and it really made me excited to start working on my backyard this season.One thing I needed to do during my visit was rent a van, and the process was really straightforward and easy. The customer service rep at the front of the store was incredibly helpful and did a phenomenal job of multitasking and explaining all the policies. I was in and out in no time, which was great because I had a lot of other things on my to-do list that day.In terms of finding what I needed, I usually have no problem at this location. However, lately, I've noticed that the shelves are often picked over and not restocked as frequently as they have been in the past. This has made it a bit harder to navigate the store and find what I need. Additionally, the store doesn't seem quite as organized as it has been in the past, which can make the shopping experience a bit overwhelming.Overall, I would say that the Home Depot on Jefferson Davis Hwy is a great place to go if you're looking for gardening supplies or need to rent a van. The garden center is definitely ramped up for the season, and the customer service is excellent. However, if you're looking for specific items, it's worth keeping in mind that the shelves may not be as well-stocked as you'd like.

We did an online order and the staff at the service counter was exceptional. We didn't know if the dishwasher was ready, but we knew it had arrived. Our customer service rep tracked it down and was able to get someone there to help us load up. Overall a pleasant experience, especially this close to Christmas.

Staff is incredible. I have come In here for so many things and every single employee is willing and knowledgeable about products and how to install. Very good about the military discount and returns are a breeze. Home Depot>Lowe’s all day.

Disappointing! Was going to install new doors and have them painted. Was quoted a price for the installation but, when I went to the store to pay I was quoted that price per door, $235 per door seems outrageous! I cancelled everything! I'm doing flooring and painting so that wasn't in my budget. Wish I had known before a trip to the store. ☹️

I guess the male employees at the Chester Home Depot didn’t get the memo that females can be veterans. They didn’t even want to look at my ID to recognize that I was military/veteran. I left my items at the register, and I will never come back.

I am an longtime lover of plants and anything that can give me an excuse to dig in the dirt. I love to watch things grow, and even more things that are one step away from death to teeming with life. that being said Home Depot normally keeps the plants that are dying on discount in the back of the garden center almost as if they are quarantined. This year I didn't see that many plants on there deathbed, which tells me that they're taking a lot better care of their living merchandise. a lot of their trees were knocked over either from wind or from an uncaring customer, and I can tell they had been laying over like that for quite some time because the tree had begun to grow horizontally as well. The prices have almost tripled, at least on the annuals and perennials. That seems to be the case with everything this year though. I had a hard time finding assistance with some of the heavier bags of dirt that I needed to purchase, or even a flat kart to lay them on. The rest of Home Depot was about the same as far as customer service, but the store was well-organized, that is for a store that sells so many on organizable items, I would have to say my experience at Home Depot was pleasant, and not fingernail biting stressful. although my wallet was a bit stressed when I left.

It’s amazing how personalities vary!So Home Depot stores in our area are bringing down Halloween items this week. (Much of the country did this weeks ago)Nonetheless I wanted 3 “Ultra Posable Skeletons” - For context I worked directly with the Home Depot marketing team on helping launch their Halloween and Holiday products nationally and I know what will be in-store VS online only.Well I opened a box of “5 ft Skeletons” to peek inside to see if these were correct. That’s when employee DUH came over and she reclosed the box. 😂…. I explained what I was looking for and even opened the HD marketing guide (same one she’s likely never opened) and provided employee DUH the SKU #. She stated that the item is online only (lie) and they had none in-stock. Well employee DUH doesn’t know (more likely just a liar 🤥) that the boxes are in her store on a top shelf (I looked before I left)So I visit Home Depot Midlothian…. Same position employees are putting out Halloween! But in this case they are laughing and smiling & saying “all the stocks gonna be gone before we can get it up” 😂 - And what do you know: They have the “online only” skeletons! Instead of closing boxes and preventing a sale the employees offered assistance and said “take all of them you want” 🤣Employee DUH of chester Home Depot should get more education on her job and maybe get a quick lesson about how businesses “sell merchandise to make money” not avoid sales for laziness. She was honestly a hateful nasty person and didn't listen to a word I said.

Had an issue with trying to buy lumber (an aisle was blocked the evening we were there). Yakima was the associate in lumber who helped us initially. We were eventually put in contact with a manager, Heather, who was extremely helpful and resolved our issue in a time manner. I also want to add that Fatima was the associate at the customer service desk who completed our transaction and confirmed our order was correct. What started out as a frustrating experience, actually ended with us feeling like we had been treated well and received excellent customer service.

I went to this depot and left to go to colonial heights way out of my way bc I planned to drop about a grand on tools but 2 associates in a 5 min period were so rude I had to leave before I made a scene. I was sure to express this to the manager who also didn't seem like he gave a f so now im at colonial heights location spending my money

Went here looking for an elusive 11/16ths drill bit. Had two staff members help right away checking their store, other Home Depot’s and even other local hardware stores. You won’t find many associates shopping the competition for you. Betsey was a gem!!

They was most definitely helpful and on point.. this day I ordered a hot water tank and we was able to do a curbside pickup and an hour and a half but the only thing that was not in my favor is that they wanted to charge me $750 just to install the hot water tank,. I already drained the old one and removed it so why so much just to put one in and they did not have to worry about deliverybut anyway it still turned out well because me, my niece and a friend YouTube and put it together very easily the hardest part was lifting the old one out.

This store is the best everyone anywhere in the store will always ask you hello if you need some help or kind and they do help you if they don't know they get someone else Jen at the checkout is right on time and manager can always speaks when you pass some everyone there

Parking is complicated, watch out and be careful. This is my first time at this location, and some employees were silent, but many were very friendly and greeted me as i moved around the store. Especially helpful was the nice guy in the paint department, he offered help and found me sand paper section that i was looking for. I like the store's vibe and will be back.

This store delivered us a lawn mower incorrectly assembled, with NO key and No instructions. Now it sits here, useless until they have time to pick it up and schedule another delivery. This has been a horrible experience.

I love Home Depot as a home owner. They have a good setup with everything I need most of the time. They also have a great Halloween setup each year as of the past couple years.I'm really glad they adopted the military discount year round.

Don’t trust that security works here. My debit card was stolen and failed attempts to use it at this store were reported by email to me by my bank in real time with transaction details. The video footage “mysteriously” disappeared into “outer space” according the Chesterfield police detective, his official conclusion of investigation working with the store security “expert” who could find nothing on video footage even though specific time’s and exact details with transaction amounts were sent by bank in email as soon as fraud was committed. I spent thousands of dollars at this store in last 3 years during home renovations, will never do business at Chester Virginia store again!!!

The customer service at this Home Depot is very disappointing. I waited to have 3 bad experiences before posting a review. This location is very convenient for me as I live about 3 minutes away but I would now rather travel the 7 minutes to get to Lowe’s and here is why... once I went in to buy new blinds as mine had broke and I needed assistance to get the exact pair. I had a gentleman in the appliances department call to ask for assistance as I couldn’t find anybody (because I never can find anyone) and waited, no one showed... I asked him to call again and waited about 20 minutes before I gave up and went home. The next day I went to Lowe’s to get my blinds and was greeted by an employee in that department and got immediate assistance!! TODAY! I go to Home Depot to get valves and I didn’t know the right kind to buy so I again asked for assistance, I approached a man I saw in the hall and told him I needed help getting the right valve, he told me it wasn’t his department so I asked him to get someone and he said he was helping someone else at that moment. So I walked up and down again seeing no one else, I even yelled out “CUSTOMER NEEDS ASSISTANCE!!” And still no one, so I went to the gentleman again at the appliance department and asked him to call for help and he did. Once I finally had some help I told the lady that was helping me my concerns so she brought me to her manager and I expressed to him everything I’ve experienced, then the guy who told me that wasn’t his department approached me while I was complaining and came into the conversation saying he told me that he would be able to help me in just a few, he NEVER told me this... I was fed up at this point and grabbed my valves and left. The employee lying about what he said to me while I was voicing myComplaint to his manager just pushed me over the edge and made me want to finally write a review.

Normally, they have whatever I am looking for when I go into the store. Associates aren't as helpful as lowes by asking if you found everything you need, but if you approach one, they are able to help if you ask 1st

I always love home depot. Home depot understands people. Meaning it's a pet friendly place. Workers are always there to help. It's just an awesome store. I love taking my dog with me and we go shopping together. It.makes it instantly a happy, fun environment.

I've been shopping here for years and had good times and bad times. Management has improved tremendously since early days of the pandemic. The staff is very helpful and will stop and take their time to help. Now, if corporate would help improve the hiring process, maybe someone would call me in for a part time job.
