Beautiful healthy bettas! They usually have as many as possible in the wall, and the ones in the cups always have clean water. Also the employees working the fish area seem very passionate about fish and knowledgeable.

Great store that has everything your pet (or pet owner) may need or want! Prices are a little high but it's worth paying a little more for quality items!The Chester, VA store is amazing! They have everything you need and they are always stocked! I visited the week of Christmas 2023 and they had so many great sales also! They even had plenty of pets! They had birds, hamsters, fish and even kittens and cats to be adopted. I must have spent almost two hours in the store just walking around and looking at everything, I had a wonderful visit and I'm looking forward to going back soon! 😁✌🏼

We took our 2 yr. old golden retriever, Misty, in yesterday for a full grooming. Misty gets very anxious when at the vet or at a grooming service. This was Misty's 2nd grooming ever, and the first time at this PetSmart in Chester. Our dog looked fantastic when we picked her up. The groomer, Sarah, was very considerate of Misty's temperment and would let her have a number of breaks, or time outs, to get the job done. We are so pleased with the service, the caring nature of Sarah, and the results of Misty's grooming. We will definetly be bringing Misty here from now on.

I made an appointment a month and a half early in preparation for the holidays, I received no notification of cancellation until i took off from work and walked into petsmart on the day of the appointment 4 days before Christmas. This is not first time something like this has happened.

Very good customer service. A variety of items for dogs, cats and fish. Awesome grooming department that was very careful and caring for my 5 1/2 month old 3lb teacup yorkie. Frequently emails coupons to you after downloading app.

I have always been leary of chain store grooming, but as a last resort I brought my Shih Tzu here and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were great and her haircut was on point. I cannot speak for all Petsmart Salons, but this one impressed me and we will be returning.

The grooming services are great however I wish they had a better system for pick up drop off. It took over 25 mins to drop my dog off. I know that has nothing to do with the groomers but it's still frustrating 😑

I'm babysitting my nephews German Shepherd for a few months & having trouble with his stomach. I stopped in Pet Smart in Chester Va yesterday to get him some digestive food & supplies. Was checking out & explaining to Marshall, an associate of Pet Smart, what was going on & with certainty he recommended a couple of items that could help with the stomach issue. He was so helpful & patient in explaining how the product works & when I should see a difference. What I loved about Marshall was his eagerness to help w/o trying to push something on me. He has such a great attitude & such zeal about him. You can tell he loves what's he doing. Marshall has made Pet Smart my go to pet store from now on. Thanks Marshall for all your help!!!

The dog-training classes are great. Kendall really knows her stuff. My 3 year-old Foxhound is as stubborn as I am, and she had him obeying EVERY command. We will return for the next Advanced training class. Reasonably-priced training. I fully recommend the training.

Great place. We have 3 dogs. We bring in are two puppies that are 1 and 1/2 years old. One is animal reactive and one is people reactive. The staff does great with us while we do some training and socialization.

I took my dog to the Chester PetSmart for grooming. I explained to the person who checked me in that he doesn’t like the forced air dryer, and that he usually dries in the kennel dryer first and then the forced air dryer is used to finish so it’s not as long. She said”yes I see it in the note”. I called ahead to ask for this service. I got a call about 4 hours later saying they couldn’t finish the groom because he wasn’t being cooperative, he was screaming, and kicking. She said she was able to do the bath, brush out, and clean his face up ( poodle clean face). Two days later I noticed a burn to his face. I didn’t call to file a complaint until 6 days later. Long story short, they denied it happened there and it was nothing they could do. I explained that I filed the complaint so they could review their practice on how they handle pets when stressed and making sure the blades on the clippers are checked frequently to make sure they are not too hot, so other pets don’t experience this injury. I will never take him there again for grooming.

By far the worst place to take your pet to get groomed. If the dog has one mat, don’t bother, regardless of how bad you think the mat is. They won’t do it because they need their breaks and down time. Will never go here again for any of my pets needs.

Terrible customer service skills!!!! Awful! Unprofessional! Rude. Groomer knew I was upset when they refused to groom my puppy with 1 small tangled area even when i offered to take him to my car and cut it off myself. I had this appointment reserved almost 10 days. She repeatedly told me "Have a nice day ma'am!" Even after I said Please don't say that to me when you can see I'm upset. This woman then smiled and again says Have a nice day ma'am! Seriously?! She then raised her voice and was speaking over me when I was explaining how rude she was being. NEVER go here. You can't even see into the grooming area while they groom your pet like you can at Petco. I would never trust that woman to handle my dog. Never returning.Update; I reported the unprofessional actions of the groomer and store manager to the corporate office. The district manager called me and was so nice, apologetic and professional. She assured me she will be speaking with this groomer (a reddish haired woman who refused to give me her own name when I asked her at the time of the incident) and manager and training them on proper customer skills!

I stopped in today to browse for the things I needed to set up my new five-gallon aquarium. Nicole helped me find what I needed (thermometer, heater, Quick Start, and Stress Coat). I probably asked her a thousand questions, and she was more than happy to answer every one of them, giving me great advice and customer service. She physically showed me my options and explained each one very well. Thanks, Nicole!The store seemed like it was clean and tidy, and the associates were all very personable and friendly, each one giving great customer service. Keep up the great work! ❤️🐾🐠

I usually love this store, but today I was approached my a young woman dressed nicely and looked very Friendly can up to me and ask for money for her sons medicine, she said it was 35, I told her I didn't carry cash but I could check and see, she said oh they give cash back at the register? I was like very determined. I found a few dollars and gave it to her. She did all this in front of the cashier at the front door and the cashier did nothing to stop her? Now I'm feeling a certain kind of way about Petsmart for allowing this inside the store? Don't think I'm going back for awhile.

Sales clerk was very helpful and courteous. He helped us find the exact product we were looking for and assured us if it wasn't right we could bring it back. I am always pleased with the service i get here whether it is grooming or products I need.

Went to return some cat food that my friends cat will not eat. They were very nice about it and took it all back. It was unopened cans. Not sure if they take back an opened bag of dry food. We picked something else to try. It was a good experience. I only gave 4 stars because of the small selection of canned food at this location. He cat is very picky and will only eat fish selections. They just didn't have a lot at the time.

This building looks kinda weird. Like a warehouse but with doors and public viewing lol. You can tell they are unstaffed and over worked. The staff only greeted certain customers that came in, at the point don’t greet anyone if it seems to exhaust you. I came here for online pickup and it took about 10mins for me to find an associate who actually had the time to assist me. The fact I had to search for one is annoying. After that, I did find one person who assisted me with my pickup, you could tell he was doing everything he could to help with the checkout lines and pickup orders.

I love this place. I have a wonderful experience every single time I go to get bedding for my rats, or food for my dog. The staff is friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful when I have questions about my animals diet. Wouldn't change a thing. 3 outta 5 stars all day.

Took my 10 year old, 35 pound beagle in today for a grooming. They couldn't complete the nail trim, and did a terrible job on the Furminator treatment. They said the dog wouldn't let them finish the nails. She literally has no teeth to stop them from doing their job. They told me to take her to a vet for a nail trim. These people shouldn't advertise a service when they can't complete it. When I got my dog home, I rubbed clumps of hair off of her, as if the de-shedding had not been done at all. I won't go back. It's a waste of time and money.

Disappointed in the customer service. Our dog had an appointment for grooming, at the time petsmart had an availability over petco, whom we usually use. We called ahead after scheduling the appointment online to inquire about what documentation will be required. We came from Germany. I explained this. Our dog had his rabies shot prior to coming to the states and the vaccine is valid. We have all the paperwork. However, the lady stated he has to have another vaccine from Virginia. Specifically, it has to state from Virginia. This makes no sense at all. So that means every state he goes to if I wanted him to be groomed at petsmart, he need to have another rabies vaccine. This is absurd. Rather upsetting, the information relayed over the phone verse in person was totally different. Just wish Petco had availability so our dog would be Christmas ready.

I would never recommend PetSmart grooming to anyone. Unprofessional and rude. Poor customer service. Groomers are lazy and don't care about ur pet. They will have ur sitting in cage for 3 hours. If they don't feel cutting ur dog they will cancel ur appointment.... Have the nerve to tell u need to go a vet because ur dog need be put to sleep for a haircut because of tangles in the fur... My dog never show no sign of aggression or being out control.... I will never spend another dime with petsmart.... Awful experience

The worst customer service ever. My pet had an appointment and he threw up everywhere in my carrier and on me and they wouldn’t accept me because I told them I was running late because of this situation where I had to see if my pet was okay. The lady at the grooming was extremely rude and immediately dismissed me and my situation. Made my day even worse and I will never go here. Worst customer service ever. And it seems like A LOT of other people have had this issue with groomers at this location…
