First off I am new to Va. I took my 4lb yorkie here for a spaw grooming as I like to keep him groomed every 5 weeks. The owner here is not warm/friendly at all. Zero customer service skills. My baby came home with a bad nip , and was a little botched un the cut.. ok I’ll charge that one off as he could have moved or something and it was his 1st time with her. Set the next appt before exiting .. I called about 5 weeks later and left a message for a return call ..to be told I had missed the appt 3 days prior. My fault, as I thought the spa sends out automated reminders as I was use to getting back home ( no problem) I made another appt for April 16 today. Reminder: When the owner called back from my voicemail inquiring about that appt I missed I remind you our convo was all of 2 minutes for her to say I don’t have time to send out no reminders I work alone do you want to make another appt or what . Ok I digress, I only asked a question… I made the appt she said drop off by 930 (so I thought, but it was @ 9 am) not 930 late we were…Anyways, let’s fast forward to April 16 the rescheduled appt. My spouse went to drop off .. walks in the door said Good morning, and the owner replies with ..first of all you’re late and there’s a late fee, you missed your last appt there’s also a $10 fee for that.. so your visit today will be $75 and its cash only because my credit card machine is down. Well Good morning to you also. I was on the phone at that time so the phone was given to me.. I first started off with good morning, of course no greeting from her at all!! I then stated ma’am I don’t have a problem with paying the extra fees but, why wasn’t this advised when I made the appt after I missed…. She responded to me “well I can’t take a $65 loss because you didn’t come and I’m telling you now and starts laughing historically. Why is this funny? I’m confused. I think this was the most of any sound I have ever heard come from her in the two appts. After she notice I didn’t laugh or reply she follows the comment up with saying look you can just take the puppy back with you I don’t have to cut him. WTH ..and sorry , but this had been decided already within the 1st 30 seconds of our convo. Nevertheless, I obliged and said yes I don’t think I’ll leave him as I don’t appreciate the way you are speaking to your customer she then stated I am sorry if I am coming off as rude ( she said it I didn’t ) then she says ok bye .. but this statement lets me know she knew she was being EXTREMELY rude for absolutely no reason at all and besides it’s too early for this type of energy so I’ll pass! sidenote: I had no problem paying the extra couple dollars as I stated to her I was just asking why was this not explained upon rescheduling, and not walking in the door to drop off. However, moral of the story::: of course he won’t be going back here and you DO NOT have to Pay anyone to treat you rude and nasty “ at this point I don’t even trust you with my furbaby no ma’am!! If you take your furry friend here to support this business you’ve been forewarned!

Alane, the owner is always very thoughtful and cooperative. I have been using her to groom our puppy for most of a year and so far have not been unsatisfied.

This is the only place I will take my dogs to get a hair cut, the owner is so awesome and just a genuine person. She has such love for animals, and does it right every single time. Have been going to her for over 10 years and will continue to take my dogs to her! 10/10 best place ever!!

Highly recommend this place! This is the 4th visit for my son's boxer and the owner does an outstanding job grooming him. Caeser loves her and always excited when I take him in. I added teeth cleaning to his grooming today and will report back with results. Love how he smells and looks when I pick him up.

We took our dog here for general grooming (bath, nail trim, paw fur trim, etc). and they did a fantastic job. It’s very hard to trim our dogs nails as he was traumatized as a puppy but they managed to get them trimmed down & he was happy as could be when we picked him up. Highly recommend this place!!

Finally found a groomer that understands the temperament and character of a Giant Schnauzer pup. Every "High End" or highly rated groomer in Richmond City always left Vader looking choppy saying he didn't sit still enough or that we needed to neuter him... Except I knew that they had just never dealt with a Giant Schnauzer considering they aren't common in the area. Vader is a great pup with a ton of energy, as is common with his breed. When I first called Lucky Dog to schedule an appointment, still in search of our forever groomer, and found out that Elaine owns a GS herself, I knew right away that she was the perfect groomer... after Vader's first appointment, I was sold and all in. And she's way more affordable than the groomers in Richmond City. We're definitely clients for life. Thank you, Elaine!

Met Elaine today with my Sproodle puppy! She turned 6 months old today and we decided to get her groomed for the first time! Didn't really know what to expect as this was our first time with this breed. We had a really positive experience Elaine was super friendly and did a great job! Reasonably priced and loved how she smelled so clean when I picked her up! Would definitely recommend to others!

BEST GROOMER EVER! One in a million. My dogs LOVE going to her and this speaks volumes. She does an EXCELLENT job and is FAST. I don't know how she does what is does. She is a one lady shop, therefore, while she is bathing and grooming our babes we may need to leave her a message at times. I met someone there one morning who comes from VA Beach every 4 to 6 weeks and won't take his dog anywhere else. YES, she is THAT GOOD!

We absolutely think Elaine is the best!! The groomer that we had prior to Elaine for our last dog would not groom this one: she stated that Lexie was too difficult. Elaine has had no problems, and we have been going to her for many years now. To address the comments on having to leave a message....I too was a little "put-off" by this at first: once I realized that I always received a speedy return call, it has never been an issue. I would recommend giving Lucky Dog a try.

SAVE YOUR ANIMAL THE TRAUMA!!!!They never answer the phone, when they do and finally get you in they do not do a BASIC pet grooming, ie clean ears, paws ect. and I even tried to give the benefit of the doubt and go back but multiple times hair is either missed or a chunk has disappeared and my poor baby is always so scared or irritable after!

My 7 month old goldendoodle and I met with the groomer a week ago. He had never been trimmed so his fur was 5-6 inches long. He fur is more like a retrieve than a poodle, so it doesn't mat. I told her we wanted at least 3" left on him - so cut off about 2".When I picked him up he had all of 1" of fur, 1-1/2" at best. On top of the shock... he has many spots that a actually long, where she missed it.I asked that his ears be cleaned out with a solution. They are filthy.The sad part is a lady in the neighborhood recommended this woman.If you just want your dog sheared down and choppy looking - then this place is for you!

She has been the only groomer out of 5 that had any idea how to groom our dog. She is very animal friendly, and never leaves the dogs, kenneled in the building alone. She is by appointment only, but that is not really a problem because I have to usually plan my errand days in advance too.
