We love our boy lookin shaggy.. just wanted about an inch taken off of him all over and his eyes cleaned up so he could see.. his hair was about 3 1/2 to 4 inches long. the only matting he had was a little bit around the corners of his mouth and right under his ears (he likes to bite the brush so those spots are challenging) but I religiously brush this dog. He was SO BEAUTIFUL but i wanted him shaped up a little bit. After calling her to tell her explain that we were not pleased, Sage did explain to me why she cut him the way she did. She explained that what we’re actually looking for is a scissor cut, which is something that she doesn’t do, I just wish that she had started off with that and my husband would’ve just taken the dog and we could’ve researched it a little bit more and gone to someone who could do a scissor cut. My biggest frustration with this kind of thing is the lack of transparency and just saying “I can’t do what you’re asking.“ I would’ve paid the same regardless, really some scissors just shaping up the face would’ve been fine with me. She told me she only took 1.25 inches off of him, but his hair is only about an inch long now and even shorter in some spots so there’s no way.. Sage was very nice when I spoke with her on the phone, and very professional. That is why I gave three stars.. attached lots of before photos, and after photos, that way people can see for themselves. It might be that this cut is exactly what you want for your dog, in which case this is the perfect place to go! Just saying it’s not what we wanted, and I really wish we had just been turned away with a “ i’m sorry but we don’t do that cut“ and we would’ve been totally OK with that.. especially since this is his very first cut and we didn’t know that what we wanted was a scissor cut. I can’t wait for him to grow out again, I’m really hoping he looks similar to what he did before.

The owner and staff are polite and professional. My pooches always look great after their visits. My girls don't have to stay long as they are groomed upon arrival and I get a call when they are almost done.

We've been taking our dogs here for about two years now and have always been very happy with both the customer service and the grooming the dogs receive. All the staff are always very friendly and have gone the extra mile for us, they do follow up reminders so we don't forget our appointment, and they remember small little details about the dogs that we certainly appreciate. We also love that it's crate/cage/kennel free and the dogs wait in their own little rooms/stalls which I believe makes all the dogs more comfortable in an unfamiliar environment. Thanks Sage, Hannah, and everyone else!

Could not be happier with my dogs care! I have been coming here for my boy's grooming (2 pomeranians) for over 2 years. The level of care, cleanliness and professionalism is unmatched! We are always greeted immediately and the boys taken back promptly. We receive a call 10 minutes before they are done letting us know that they will be ready. The boys are beautifully groomed, fresh and clean and HAPPY! It's always a treat to see what bandana they will have tied around their neck when I pick them up, today we had a Halloween themed bandana😀. Love, love, love and cannot recommend enough!

This place is amazing, the ladies who work here really know what they're doing and seem to have a great passion for it. My pup always looks phenomenal and is very happy and excited when I pick him up. If you want the highest quality care, this is the place. However, this high quality as might be expected, does come at a comparable cost. This is not a cheap service, especially for larger dogs (I assume). Mine is 70 lbs and with quite a lot of fur so the whole thing takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. It's on the pricey side but again I must emphasize they do incredible work here. It is worth it for me, I'm happy to shell out the cash for premium care for my best bud. I'll definitely be coming back here for his haircuts!

Highly recommend this place in Winchester, VA if you ever need your dog groomed or if you just want to give your fur baby a spa day! Service is GREAT and Sage did an amazing job on Theo’s hair cut. Also I was just in town for two days and they were able to accommodate my schedule. Couldn’t say enough good things about them!

I’m new to the area and have been looking for a good groomer for my pup. He desperately needed his nails cut so I chose to check out At Your Bark’n Call and I am SO happy that I did. They are so nice and welcoming, as well as knowledgeable, professional, and very efficient. I was told exactly what they were going to do and in detail. I have trust issues with people handling my dog, but they just made it so easy for both me and my dog. Plus all the little goodies they have!!! It’s the perfect little place, I’m definitely going back again!

I rarely post business reviews, but occassionally I encounter exceptional customer service, and/or "product", and have to share. I have had the pleasure of having Sage take care of my "kids" since she began, and have to say that she has always gone above and beyond. I mean those blueberry facials!!! I promise your "kid" will smell absolutely amazing, and will be treated like the best and only pup while at At Your Bark and Call. I love that its ran just like a people spa with service menus and individual service, NO cage drying. The staff that Sage has added are all as amazing as Sage herself, and really interact with the pups while grooming them, they clearly love what they do and it shows. Not just in your dogs and result, but more importantly, on their faces when you pick them up. I can tell that they actually enjoyed their time at the spa and that's the most important of all!! I can't say enough about how great this place is, and if your in need of a groomer, I promise, you and your "kid" will love this place. 🐶🐶🐶

Sage groomed my 2 cocker spaniels that I had been grooming for a couple of years myself. She was very patient with them and has a stress free environment for the dogs. Sage cut them exactly how I wanted. She listened to everything I said. She was very helpful and wanted to do the best job she could possibly do. Her staff is also wonderful and very nice. I don’t think I will be taking my time anymore to groom them now that I have Sage! Her shop is very nicely decorated and has lots of nice homemade treats and good toys. Highly recommend Sage and her salon! Also easy to get an appointment without waiting unitil next year!

Amazing work! Sage did such a wonderful job on my Lilly today. This was my first experience with a groomer and I think I am hooked. She is so soft and smells so nice. It's amazing to be able to pet her without getting a handful of fur in return. We will definitely be regulars now!

We are regular customers and have been for years. Sounds to me like the complaints are coming from people who don't take care of their animals regularly. Set your appointments to get your pups regular care and you'll be glad At Your Bark and Call is part of your routine. The groomers get to know your pets. The shop includes an adorable biscuit bar where you can get healthy dog treats in bulk. Easy, close parking.

I find all groomers pricey, that said the ladies here do a wonderful job! We have a 2yr old golden doodle who has energy and they treat him great! They listen to your cut needs make appropriate suggestions and my dog always leaves looking awesome and happy. Def recommend this place.

They did wonderful with my puppy, Waffles! She looked fantastic when I picked her up, and she was so happy. My 7 month old pup does not often sit still, and they did so well with her. Waffles was so fluffy when she came home, and she smelled wonderful. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and Waffles came home beautiful and very relaxed.

I take my German Shepherd here and the ladies are so nice and have a good understanding of the breed. I have tried another local groomers for a nail clipping and they required me to go back with them and stand beside my dog. I’ve never had that happen anywhere. I will always go to Bark’n Call. I recommend them to anyone with larger breed dogs.

As a regular customer at Bark and Call, we had a very unfavorable grooming. The “groomer” was not who we had scheduled the appointment with, even though we scheduled with the actual groomer/owner. The dog came out shaved with a crew cut even though we had asked for a specific, style of cut. We did NOT give permission for this. The owner was not apologetic but instead refused to reimburse us. She claimed that the dog was too matted for any styling other than the shave down. We do NOT recommend this place, after this experience. You may pick up your dog, and find that he/she has been given a shave down....

What a gem!! Happened upon this lovely shop while transporting a dog from WV to her new home near Virginia Beach. Sage, the owner of At Your Bark'n Call, was able to fit us into her busy schedule with only a few minutes notice. What a treat for my middle aged Boxer companion to get her first fancy bath before meeting her new human siblings! AND, check this out, special discounts on grooming are afforded to our furry friends within the first 30 days of their rescue. In addition to the fabulous service and accommodation, the boutique offers a bar of gourmet dog treats and specialty items. Wish I lived closer and could treat all of my transports to this luxury. I took my puppy in with a little trepidation as we had a bad experience at another groomers. Sage listened to my concerns and was a calming presence. When I got there I was greeted by my adorable puppy that she had done a magnificent job on. She came out and spoke with me and told me all about how he did. Not only are they great at what they do, but they also work hard to assist the suctomer any way. I take two dogs here and they tend to do much better if they go togethet. Sage worked hard to find a time they could both be groomed in a packed schedule. They listen to exactly what you want. They can be a bit difficult to get a hold of bit I promise it is worth it. My dogs are so much happier after going here than the big chain store groomers.

I have used a lot of pet groomers in the area and At Your Bark’n Call is by far the best place to take your pet. The staff is very friendly and informative. I had my large King Poodle in today for a groom and all I can say is that I was extremely satisfied with the work done. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a good groomer for their dog!!!!

I had an experience where my personal dog (Shih Tzu) got loose while in AYBAC care, ran through Winchester (crossing busy streets, etc) and the owner wouldn’t allow the employees (including the one that accidentally let him out) to stop what they were doing to look for him. Thankfully we found him after a few hours, covered in ticks, and mud scared to death.I understand accidents happen, but the decision not allow all of the employees to look for him is ridiculous. Alyssa was very apologetic when we got back, I had no choice but to allow her to take care of getting him cleaned up, she did a great job and didn’t charge me. She told me point blank that they were told they couldn’t leave the shop to help find him.

We've tried multiple groomers at this location and had a bad experience every time. We've never left with our dog looking the way we've requested. We've had portions of the dog left too long and when we return we get blamed for it being too long. Other times our dog has been cut far too short. The last time was the last straw - a complete hack job on the whole dog except the tail which was left long. So if you enjoy your dog looking like a long legged squirrel or a poodle your grandma would have been proud of in 1970 this is your place. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

I took my three poodles there for grooming and there were so many miss cuts on the topnotts of my very sweet and gentle girls. They actually fall asleep when being clipped. Also the price is very expensive. They do a quick service but their trimming leaves a lot to be desired. I complained and they could have cared less. I have gone back to Winchester Pet Aquarium. They may take longer but the grooms are perfect. The girl who did my standard did a great job except on his nails. I told her to grind them and not clip and she clipped and split them. Also told her to leave eyebrows with his mohawk and she clipped them off. Not a happy camper.

I made my appointment the day before. When I got there the shop was completely closed up!! My dog is 13 and is not very mobile. She threw up for hours after getting back because of the motion sickness of the ride there. I left a message telling them what happened. I have yet to get a phone call apologizing!!! Not cool!

You have to try their assortment of treats. I had my Lagotto puppy grooming done there they treated her with gentle care. Love the team. Their calendar fills up fast.
