This is absolutely the most amazing rescue I’ve been to. The care each animals gets is obvious with how quickly they recover and how healthy they are when they get adopted out. I never feel anything other than welcome when I go in. I love it here.

Best pet store around! You are greeted at the door by two talking parrots, and they've got a wider selection of animals than the Richmond Zoo(better taken care of too).

I have driven past this store so many times. I thought it was a pet grooming place. After adding a new addition to the family (bearded dragon). I was looking for some supplies and googled local pet stores(I avoid chain places when I can) and was surprised to find this store. I stopped by and not only got the supplies I needed, the owner was super friendly and so helpful. I will be getting all my supplies and possible future pets there when possible!

Love, love, love this place. I just happened to stumble upon it when my office moved close by. Owner is incredibly knowledgeable on all things PETS. Prices are so much less than chain pet stores and the animals are loved and better cared for. If you are looking for a place that actually cares, prices are reasonable and the owner knows what her stuff stop going to pet smart and wasting your time and money. You will be glad you did.

We’re so happy and grateful we got our little guinea pig Luca (pistachio) from here. He’s made the perfect addition to our family.We also enjoyed meeting all the amazing animals and learned so much during our visit. All the animals are well cared for and very happy.

The best! The owner is so kind and personal. She really goes above and beyond for these animals and finding them homes. The shop also has a wide array of items to purchase for all kinds of pets. Support your local small businesses instead of large chain stores who really don't care about animals!

Have been in the store multiple times and even adopted from her. She responds to my messages anytime I have questions. The animals she rescues are well taken care of. My children and I enjoy the store very much. Would rather go here than Petsmart or Petco.

Kirstin is wonderful! We have gotten 2 bunnies & a guinea pig from here, and some great supplies. We have also used her pet sitting services for our guinea pigs and birds. She has always taken great care of our animals!!!! I can't say enough wonderful things about Kirstin & A Pets Tale!!!!!

Best little pet shop around!!! Came from Hopewell because i took in 3 kittens and needed SMALL collars and wasn't at all disappointed with the selections of colors,sizes and price ranges!! Also cant beat the cute friendly dog that greets you at the door and to the rocking awesome lady running the place is over 5 stars!! I will certainly be back for more goodies for my furbabies 💚💚💚💚

Honestly I only went there to pick up a T-shirt I had ordered 3 wish website. When I walked in the smell was absolutely atrocious. I have never been in a Is store that sold pets that smelled as bad as this place. All that beside,her jewelry was absolutely amazing. If you can endure the smell long enough to purchase something. I mean no disrespect. But if you have a place where there are animals you definitely need to clean after them daily.

Just adopted our new bunny from this pet store. Owner was so nice and knowledgeable. She genuinely cares about all the animals and making sure they go to good homes . We will definitely be coming back

This is by far the best pet store around here. The prices are cheaper than places like petsmart or petco. They have a HUGE selection of stuff for pet lovers. They have pets and stuff for pets but also tons of stuff like clothes, art, decals, picture frames, hand made jewelry, figurines, stuffed animals and so much more. I highly recommend!! The owner Kirstin is very polite and knowledgeable on the products!

So excited to have this local pet store in Chester! We were greeted by the owners sweet dog when we arrived. I went in search for our dogs favorite Barkworthies bones! While there we also found a wide selection of antlers and other chew toys that are local to Amelia. A Pets Tale has a great selection of reasonably priced toys, accessories for pets, and their owners! It would be easy to find gifts for your pets and pet loving friends here.

The shop owner (Kirstin) is a jewel. She has tons of animal knowledge and is super sweet. We have gotten numerous things for our pets at much better prices than elsewhere. You will not regret visiting this shop and getting to know the owner.

This was so much fun! A pet store in Chester had a kid's event which included holding reptiles, birds, and a Madagascar hissing cockroach!! Then they got to "dig" (mulch in a kiddie pool) for dinosaur eggs. That's were clay ovals with little dinosaur toys inside. There were clothes, jewelry, and tons of pet items for sale, kids books for 50centd, all proceeds going towards pet rescues. Such knowledgeable and friendly women and I learned so much. My granddaughter (7) had a blast as well. Upon leaving, the kids got a gift bag of goodies. This place is a hidden treasure if you're not local and I'm so glad we found it.

Kirstin is so knowledgeable about animals, even exotics. She has a heart of gold and can help you find the perfect item for your pet or a gift. She is immensely talented and if you have an idea, she will figure out a way to make it. Her prices are very reasonable. I especially appreciate that she is hosting adoption events. A different kind of pet store. It's a locally operated store that does new sales, consignment and used / donated items. It's a great mix of a pet Goodwill mixed with Lazy Daisy and a little bit TJ Maxx. Your dollar goes far here and there is a good variety of many different things. They sell pets like snakes, monitors, rats, etc and also live food. There is something for everyone so go check them out and support local!

There are just no words at how cool this place is..a true sanctuary from Animals that need a second chance. Plus a cool second hand shop for Animals..owner was WONDERFUL. can't wait to visit again
