This store is farm equipment store and located at 1754 Military high way Chesapeake Virginia 23320 . They sell lawn and garden supplies and got very nice stuff like grass seeds,fertilizer,vegetable seeds, moles and rats killer, insects killer, garden tools, garden plants. Also sell lots of products like Horse feed supplies,fencing equipment, nursery/garden center,live stock feed and supplies,pet supplies,farm supplies,wild birds supplies,fencing supplies, bulk mulch delivery,bulk feed delivery and also propane cylinders fill . Today I went to buy spinach and kale seeds and also find nice garden and outdoor hat’s. They got separate section of outdoor boots for men and women I picked one pair of shoes. When I can’t find certain vegetables seeds in other stores I buy from here. Normally I buy grass seeds from here. The store is very clean and well stocked and organized. They got nice big parking lot which is nice and clean. The customer service is excellent. Feel comfortable to shop here.

Never buy plants from this store. They are a rip off! As soon as I replanted the plants they died. The one in the cup was not planted and is still alive. They will not compensate my loss in anyway. They also charge more than Lowe’s or Home Depot. If I ran into this issue at Lowe’s or Home Depot I’m sure they would have easily resolved the issue.$26 down the drain.

I really like Southern States. It always reminds me of the local feed store back home. I can find everything I usually need and then some. The folks are always friendly and helpful. Looking for a good feed store and so much more the look no further than Southern States.

I went there today and got there a little before 4pm. So, of course I saw the sign on the door that they close early due to shortage of staff. So, I'm sitting in the car trying to find the nearest Tractor Supply Store and 4 employees come meandering out. Seems like they weren't too tired or in a hurry or even breathing heavy. And the thing is, I was there last month and there was only two employees working at the time and only one other customer in there. Now there is one less customer than that.....me!! Bye Bye.

Always a pleasant shopping experience. Good selection of products at a very reasonable price. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Reminds me of the old country stores in small towns i used to shop at with my parents growing up.

This place has been in the area for more than 30 years, they are always nice and willing to go the extra mile to help.I don't look like the average Virginia farmer and have been treated differently at similar places in the past.This place is not like that at all. The staff and the managers have went out of their way to help me over the years. They have even special ordered things I needed without me prepaying for anything

They are kind of slow, but reliable and the prices are good. Unlike their competitor, they always have what I need in stock and I can count on them to have what I need every time. Feeding a barn full of horses and an army of birds, that is super important to me.Long-term customer.

I walked in the store and made eye contact with three employees (talking to each other)at the register. They didn't say hello or ask if I needed any help. After I load my feed into the cart I wasn't sure which register because no one said anything. So I walked up and the employee still didn't speak she just scan my items and told me the price. She didn't ask if I was a southerner states rewards member which I am. But she did say have a nice day. This is why I shop online.

Great place to shop!! K9 korner attached to Southern States is the best for having your pet family groomed and nails cut! Chris does such a great job of taking care of our pups nails!!!!!!!!!!! They look forward to seeing him monthly to get their nails done!!!!!!!! Totally awesome place!!!! Highly recommend!!!!!!

Always a productive visit. Everything you need for your farm and garden needs. If on the off chance they don't, they will order it for you.Consistent management and a first name basis with the ability to make recommendations for my specific needs. I just wish the location was more convenient.

Got grass seed here good price for the bulk, lots of cool little things to see. They had baby chicks in, worked great to entertain my son while I looked around. Helpful staff.

Great place for dog food. Easy pick up too, just pay and drive around to loading dock. That easy, well until you get it home that is...lol. With four Great Danes, you could say we go through some food. Southern States makes it easier with great prices too

I only visit this place occasionally. I really do like it quite a bit. They have what most serious farming and gardening folks are looking for. Even if you're just a novice at gardening or lawn care, they'll have items that most other supply stores don't carry.

This place is great. I bought some chickens for the first time a short time back and they were very helpful in finding the best feed for their age. The feed is cheap and there are many choices. Check it out.

Nice of you to put a sign on the door that says you close at 5:00 due to staffing shortages but don't put up any notification on any website or here. I can't even make it here by 5:00 on a normal work day, I guess it's time to see if tractor supply has what I need

Fantastic old-time store, with food for all critters, and precious chicks every spring. Delicious home produced orange blossom honey to cry for! Straight from McCutcheon's Apple farm in Frederick, MD. I've been going there since I was old enough to drive, lol!

I brought my Dad's furbaby in today for grooming . I was very impressed. The ladies were friendly and my dad's dog Myla who has separation anxiety was very happy when I returned. My dad is very ill and it's difficult for him to brush Myla out and care for her coat the way he once could . They listened to what I needed done and followed through . She looked great. I do find the prices for pet supplies a bit pricey, especially the pot belly pig food. They raised the prices due to PBP becoming more popular, but as far as the pet corner I will definitely bring my pets to be groomed and it's not costly.

Out of date, very little stock, look like it's going out of business. The store needs to be remodeled especial in and outside. I have been shopping there for over 50 years but this location is the worst. Would like to see it better in 2019.

The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They sell a wide variety of bird food. For squirrel lovers nothing beats the 25 pound sack of in-shell peanuts.
