First two pictures are him before grooming and the next ones are afterOk so this is kind of a hard review for me.Yesterday I called fairly last minute to try to get my golden retriever in for a grooming full service. They were very accommodating when it came to getting him in very quickly. They actually scheduled him for later that evening. I have a normal groomer that I go to however they are almost impossible to get into unless you book a month advance. I clearly did not plan. .Fast forward I go in and the people are genuinely so nice. You can see that they have big hearts for the animals. I’d like some places to see if she barely tolerate them. I let the woman know that my dog is very anxious of his surroundings of things that are bigger than him or allowed such as the dryer. She was super understanding and very patient. Very very caring people. When she took him back. He was afraid of his bath, so apparently she actually sat in the bath with him, letting him put his head in for lap, which when I heard that I almost cried. It is rare that you find people treat your baby like he is their own. So I would like to say, I am so so so grateful for the customer service and kindness that we were shown at the groomer.However, unfortunately, no matter how good customer service is the product Has to be good . Sadly this was not the case. When I originally asked what I wanted, I told him I didn’t really know what the only things I cared about were keeping my golden retrievers chest hair long and that I really liked his front leg hair. She assured me that she understood and said she would do what she normally does with the golden retrievers. hearing that reassured me that other golden retriever parents clearly liked her judgment. I am genuinely heartbroken by how my poor dog looks after. His chest hair is gone and his hair was cut so short that he almost looks like a puppy again it looks like chunks of hair removed into choppy layers , I am attaching photos here to kind of give context. I’m not sure what happened.Oh, and all the haircut was awful. However the people are genuinely incredible. I wish I could’ve given a higher review but it was a very expensive service. I paid $127 along with an added $40 tip. I also was charged for nail grinding when his nails were cut. My normal groomer charges me about $80 and he always leaves looking stunning.

I mainly stop by here to pick up supplies for my two kitties. The staff is friendly and they have a wide assortment of pet related items from food to toys. Definitely worth a visit!

Clean and easy to find items even though they are not laid out exactly like the one I’m accustomed to. I used my coupons and I had some points saved up to use. Got my doggo some Halloween treats because she deserves to have a little fun with snacks too.

Made an appointment for my dog and the groomer couldn't groom mt dod during to some mats on his ears. I went to the vet and had the ears shaved. Made another appointment and was told that they can't groom him due mats on this chest. Wasted my time here 2 times. Alyssa the store manager could not explain why we couldn't know about his chest when the ears were done. Don't waste your time at this petsmart. They are having a lot of staff turn over and you don't know what you're getting and I love my dog too much for their nonsense.

Went in for a couple things. A light up collar for our puppy and some toys for our bigger dog who's Birthday we were celebrating. I was kind of bummer that there were only 2 options for the light up collars, and both were too large and heavy for a puppy. I tried to find a Collar with reflective stripes or material but again they had none for a puppy. I did get some toys and items for the big dogs, so not all was in vein. Overall a good ecmxperience, however I wish they had a better selection.

I’ve been taking my dog since she was a puppy to petsmart for grooming and over the years, service has declined. Today we paid $160 for a haircut where they weren’t able to cut her front half stating she was nipping, which is very unlike her. So she came home half groomed. Very upset at the service and amount of money spent. We will no longer be giving our service to petsmart grooming.

Worst experience ever for my dog and I. The groomer at Petsmart Greenbrier and managers are rude and unprofessional. They cut off my dogs ears ( the hair) off his ears have been Maintained for 9 years. Drove 45 min and checked my dog in. The groomers inspected him, checked him in and they told me it would take 3 to 4 hours to groom him. As soon as I get home, the groomers called and said come get your dog he has a cut on his back and he's bleeding. How is he bleeding? Y'all checked him, I checked, but I went back to get my dog. When I seen my dog ,he looked totally different. The only thing they did was cut his hair ears off. I was furious. I have a complaint to corporate to resolve this unprofessional issue they have at this store.

Store associates are great. Grooming is a mess. Don’t make an appointment unless you plan for you and your dog sit out in the busy lobby for 30 mins. Last time we did wait and got our pup a haircut and they messed up his ears and didn’t cut his top coat. Go somewhere else if you can

Never train a dog with these people or in their store! They know nothing about training and how to handle even the smallest situations. Today was a cat adoption day and my dog who has never had issues with cats was swatted at by one of their cats. There are no signs that say cats are dog or not dog friendly. So we walked past and was doing a training just asking for sits and downs while grabbing something from the area they had the kennels set up for cat adoptions. (Keep in mind we had no choice but to go in this area anyway!!!!) No issues until the cat swatted at my dog and my dog of course reacted to this. The cat was in the safety of a cage but my dog had blood drawn from his ear. I was then asked very rudely to leave the area as if it was 100% our fault and my dog was surrounded as if I didn’t immediately put him in a sit. He was barking but what dog wouldn’t and I was waiting till he calmed down because the space was so small, dragging him out wouldn’t have helped anyone. (My entire body was in between him and the cat plus I had him in a sit and control of his collar) But because the cat was hissing and swatting at the cage we were seen as the villain and overaggressively told to leave as we were stressing out the cat. Nobody would get what we needed from the area and refused to even talk to us. WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! and from all this it only reminded me how much they don’t know about dog training and how poor their customer service is.

I love this store. They have online pickup now and I get my boyfriend to pickup the food I ordered online on his way home from VA. It is quick and easy. They have a nice selection in here for cat food, dog food, aquarium decor, pumps, toys for cats/dogs/etc. fish for sale, other animals for adoption like rats/mice/cats, cat furniture, cat litter, puppy pads, lamps for reptiles, reptile food, fish food, pet beds, etc. You can't go wrong going to this place if you are a pet lover like me and are happily owned by a cat, dog, or another living creature. Try out the food order pickup if you like to make life easier on yourself.

This is probably the best Petsmart in Hampton Roads! The employees are professional and kind. The store is very very clean. The aquarium section is well stocked and the tanks are clean and don’t look like plain fish breeding tanks like MOST pet store fish tanks. I will make this my go to location from here on out. Great job guys!

Called to see if they had time to cut dogs' nails, they said as long as I arrived before 4. Got there at 3. They said they weren't doing nails anymore that day. Don't give people information that they plan around and them not follow through. This is just poor behavior.

REPTILE CARE HERE IS HORRIBLE!I rarely write reviews, but after just witnessing a dead baby lepoard gecko and two others in deplorable condition I'm certainly going to speak up about it. PetSmart is not taking proper care of their reptiles. They use reptile rugs which harbor bacteria and catch on teeth, and their humidity for baby lepoard geckos is way too high. Lepoard geckos need about 30% to 40% humidity and theirs is at 70%! The baby lepoard geckos themselves look starved, have stuck shed, no energy, and lost their tails. The dead one had open sores in addition to the other traits. Please help me report this store and DO NOT buy their reptiles! Buying them, even to save them, only fuels the trade and subjects more to mistreatment. I'm sorry for both the reptiles and you people reading this...

I stopped going to the PetSmart on Military Highway because of the people. but it's still better than most of the private places but the PetSmart in Chesapeake is amazing young girls working there are learning and doing an awesome job. everybody needs to learn start somewhere they're wonderful I brought four dogs up there today I dropped them off early and got all of them back in great shape. now they still have a lot of other animals to do also. people are going to write mean posts out there instead of being nice. why don't you just take a dog somewhere else these girls are trying hard leave them alone and quit being so mean.So many people just plain freaking mean. y'all don't have any heart or Soul think about being your young daughter or your young son starting off.try to be positive everybody has to start somewhere and it did a damn good job my dogs.I went and bought everything I needed to do my own dog in after several attempts it's not an easy job at all so all you complaining go by everything try to do it yourself didn't get back on Facebook and on PetSmart and let the people know that these people are trying and doing a great job these are like our kids and taking care of remember that

Victoria does such a phenomenal job with my dog at the grooming salon. I’ve gone to her multiple times now and am 1000% satisfied every time. Totally recommend her if you are looking for a groomer!

I was so nervous about my 55 pound mutt Violet to get groomed for the very first time. Anna E was the SWEETEST person ever!!!! She was SOOOOOOOOO gentle with her and reassuring. Will definitely go back to her again!!!

Took my dog to this place hoping they can meticulously clean my dog better than I can, but I went home very disappointed. I paid for the Pawdicure Plus service. The website describe this service to include: “Nail trim & grind, light feet trim & pad shaving, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, cologne spritz & more”. I took my dog went to the parking lot and saw her ears are as dirty as they were. I brought her back inside and asked if they cleaned her ears. The lady said yes but i told them her ears are still dirty. The lady took 2 cotton balls, wet them and cleaned her ears for 2 seconds and let us go. I could have done a better job at home. I don’t even know if they brushed her teeth. I can’t tell the difference. I definitely don’t smell the “cologne spritz” that they put on her, if they ever did. Poor grooming service.

Amazing staff, makes the whole experience super enjoyable. I know it makes sense but just about every single person there is a down to earth optimistic animal lover. Our Chiweenie is doing the second round of training at this PetSmart and is doing phenomenal. The trainer takes the time to go over the basics until you and your puppy or dog have it down perfect. We all know everything these days thanks to Google but it really is nice to just sit down with a small group of owners to see what their against and how they overcome it as well as reveal your weaknesses as an owner no matter "how much you know". I am glad my wife talked me into it, our dog is super well adjusted, socialized, and respectful while maintaining her extremely loving attitude. Thanks PetSmart!This PetSmart does not have the kennels, that one is off Virginia Beach Drive.
