Was looking for extra extra large cat litterbox. Staff very helpful. Very pleased with my purchase. The checkout was speedy as employees recognized a line forming and opened another register.

This store has a friendly staff with a fair amount of merchandise. The store itself is older and a bit dingy. The place feels like it could do with a good scrubbing. The bathrooms weren’t horrible but could have been cleaner. The pet clean-up station needed to be restocked with bags.They also house a groomer and a Banfield Pet Hospital. The Banfield is the main reason we go there. The staff is helpful, but not very accommodating. We’ve been with Banfield for years, and this location used to be very good. Unfortunately, the quailty of service isn’t what it used to be. After my dog’s comprehensive exam I was asked to give him a treatment at home they should’ve administered and to bring back a stool sample they didn’t collect. Since COVID, they no longer allow you to stay in the exam room with your pet.Overall, I’m rooting for this place! It use to be better and I’m sure it will again!

I have not found a better place that has as many products that are good for my pets and associates that are more concerned with the well-being of pets and their needs. The associates are some of the best in the retail industry that I have come across they are knowledgeable helpful and patient when you have questions or concerns. If I could give them more than five stars and there was an Infinity button I would press it in a heartbeat. 😊

Overall the employees were nice and the store visibly looked clean. It was not super busy, and I like the fact of being able to order online and pick it up in the store pretty quickly!

Horrible experience! Came to have dogs ears and other things groomed on appoint made in advance! Only after picking him up and looking they didn’t do anything other then bathing!! And didn’t do the shedding treatment either! Never going here again!

It's like a ZOO inside with all of the rare pets for sale inside and the employees are beautiful people who are always willing to help. God bless Dunedin businesses and long live Chesapeake Square! The store is large and spacious with everything you will need for your pets. In addition they are the only pet store in the area that sells prescription animal food; which is why I ventured so far to purchase this recent order from vet. Everyone except one was nice and friendly. They have a reward card that allows you to get discounts on your purchases which does not expire. Great!!My only reason for giving a 1 🌟- The store does not adhere to the Governor's mandatory "wear a MASK" and allows customers in the store without a mask. The store has the mandate posted but what good is it if it is not enforced. Disheartening when five people walk in with no mask and employees assist them versus informing them put on a mask.Will start using Chewy for my pet's need.

I generally like the company and the products. I do wish dog toys and chew things were not so expensive. Most of them were between $15-$25. I do like the clearance, usually a very good buy. This store in particular, near Chesapeake Square Mall, is usually fairly messy and it's difficult to find an employee when help is needed. I am surprised how many employers allow employees in a customer service field to be on their cell phones texting or whatever while they're working. However, the employees I have come into contact at that store have always been very polite and helpful... As helpful as they can be. Just thinking of a few times I've had questions and the few employees that only responded that they did not know. I would suggest they be coached on how to fulfill customer inquiries by letting the customer know that while they don't have the answer they would be happy to go speak to another employee(s) that may be able to help. Just trying to offer positive suggestions :-)

I booked my Norwegian Elkhound for the furminator package with nails and teeth included. AJ was great and patient with her, however, I specifically requested for her NOT to be shaved as she is double coated and doing so destroys her coat. I was asked about a sanitary clip to which I agreed but reiterated that she cannot be shaved. When I picked her up everything seemed fine and I took her home to rest since the groomer is stressful for her.This afternoon after playtime I noticed that the sanitary clip was not a clip at all. She is shaved in that area down to the skin. I'm beyond disappointed and frustrated since I said on multiple occasions that she cannot be shaved. At this point I can only HOPE that her fur grows back normally in that area.Overall, the service was great I just wish my directions were followed and respected.

PetSmsrt carries my old cat food. I can walk into any PetSmart and find it quickly. Also, PetSmart has clean bathrooms.

Love this location. I needed bird pellets for my budgies and frozen mice for my snake, they always have plenty of both. Love the gender neutral bathrooms as well!

This my family 1st having a dog, & my daughter been wanting a dog for years, my niece gave her this dog that someone had given to her. We took the dog to PetSmart to get groom & Olivia did an outstanding job with this dog. I believe his previous owner did not take care of him. He was matted & he looked horrible, but Olivia was the best, we also made him a Vet appointment & Stephanie @ the front desk was awesome. I thank them both so much, because we never had a dog, & didn't want to give him up on him. Thank you PetSmart 😊

Not what I expected. I took my doggy for grooming, paid for the FURminator luxury and it didn’t seem to make a difference, he was still shedding a bunch of hairs on the car ride back home. Other than that, the staff was friendly and helpful, I can tell they treat the dogs with care.The store itself is pretty big and have a bunch of stuff well stocked compared to other petsmart locations!

Usually I love this store and think they do a good job with my price matching and all but my last visit I had a younger cashier and tried to buy one of the engraving tags, which the price says $7.50 (I work retail myself and can check SKUs for accuracy) and it rang up $9. This is the second tag of the same kind I've bought from the store and this is the second time this has happened. It was the right product and engraving is included in the posted price. The last time the cashier saw/confirmed the price difference and changed it. This young man didnt even look at the price (right near register conveyer belt) told me it must be with tax (no) or must be for the engraving (again no) he didn't seem to be concerned at all so he kept scanning my other items. I asked him if I could speak to a manager, he points to a guy near the fish area and says there's one of them, but didn't call them over or use his communication system to alert the manager. So I walked over and asked for his assistance. The manager told him he needed to correct the price and someone needed to change the whole board because the prices were wrong. The cashier then went on to change the price of the wrong item (a higher priced item) and I said no thats not the item. I was honest and the manager caught this as well. I told the cashier it was the first item rang up. Finally it got straightened out but I felt like it was poor customer service. I have never had to alert a manger myself at the register. I don't think I have ever seen someone disregard an incorrect price like that as well. Basically ignore the complaint. There is no name on the receipt, no survey or anything. So maybe the receipt info will help. I hope I don't have an experience like that again.

Groomer Diamond is wonderful with Maggy. Maggy has separation anxiety and Diamond has helped overcome her fears of being left to be groomed. Diamond greets Maggy and get on her level to gain her confidence before taking her back to be groomed. Diamond is a definite asset to the grooming department at Petsmart Chesapeake Square Portsmouth Blvd.

Only reason I am leaving two stars, is because everytime I previously went in there, it was like they weren't organized and when it came to picking my dog up towards the end of it, her nails didn't even look like they were cut! She scratched my dad's arm up pretty bad and he even asked if her nails were even cut! So I have found another groomer to take her too which they do an amazing job!!

Angel did an excellent job grooming my rough coated collie! It had been a couple of months since she was last groomed, so it took a lot of work to get my collie’s coat looking good. Angel took her time and was very patient with her.

I just recently adopted a cat there the process was simple and Paul the guy in charge amazing guy really nice and really tries to get the right cat for you, and the peeps who work there helpful an awesome amazing environment for pets and pet lovers
