I have a pet duck that had an urgent problem. I called every vet in Lynchburg and surrounding areas; but, no one was available or wouldn’t see a duck. Chatham Animal Clinic said they were busy but happy to work us in! Dr. Shorter was beyond kind and happy to help us. I cannot thank them enough and likely will make this my regular vet.

My family has been taking our pets here and now, I travel from NC to take my 2 babies to them!!! I have not found anywhere else that cares for my pets and the people like Chatham Animal Clinic does!!! Everyone has always been helpful and caring! I had an emergency with my dog and could not get an appointment with the regular vet. The staff at Chatham Animal Clinic was able to accommodate us. We were instructed to immediately come, and they would work us in. Not only did they work us in we were seen quicker than when I have scheduled appointments with the other office. The care and attention were great and could not have asked for better care for my pet!

I was attending a horse show at Olde Dominion At Center and my dog was attacked by another dog . I was from out of town and it was after 600pm on Friday evening. I called and got their answering service and she was the most helpful kind person you can imagine. Dr Seeba called me immediately and told me to come right away to the clinic that she could be there in 2 minutes. She was so very kind to us and so efficient. She gave us the price up front in detail which I appreciated. Went to work on our dog immediately and was so very good and gentle to him. We were fortunate that there wasn’t any internal damage. I can’t say enough good things about the way we were treated from the phone call to the clinic. Thank you for being a caring animal clinic!

I love this vet clinic! At a time when I needed emergency care for a dog and my own long time vet was closed on Wednesdays, I got an appointment during daytime hours for that same day. They were able to use their ultrasound to find a very large growth on the dog's liver that had been missed by my former vet for over a year. Unfortunately, it was found too late to help her and I lost that dog. Needless to say, all my dogs are taken on a 50 min drive for all their vet needs for the past 2 years now. Now I'll drive into the next county for the moderately priced services at Chatham Animal Hospital. They'll also do way more treatments such as surgeries that most vets no longer do in office. I've never had to wait more than 3 days whenever I call for regular appointments. All the staff there are the friendliest, most efficient, and very capable people you'd ever want for your pets. I'd give 100s more stars if possible.

One word: Amazing!We called last minute for an emergency ultrasound for our baby Yorkie. Other clinics wanted a different referral from our vet (whom had already send a referral before we got the lab values to get a head start), but since now it was an emergency ultrasound, the process was different. Then, we found a clinic that would take her, but the ultrasound vet cancelled the same day but referred us to this clinic. They immediately took us in and the communication was amazing since the start. We barely waited to be seen. Dr. Veronica saw us and she gave us a really good feeling since the start. She immediately took our baby in and listened to our concerns, when she came back she explained everything very detailed and she came to us with a treatment plan and follow up.We live in NC but the drive is worth it! Top-notch vet care for your fur babies <3

I was visiting my parents and needed flea/tick prevention for my pup and to get updated on her rabies vax. They got me in the next business day and got her in and out quickly. The staff was very friendly and their prices are great. Would definitely recommend! Thank you!

My dog had terrible skin issues, her hair was falling out terribly, she had terrible skin rashes, she would scratch until she was bleeding, I took her to three other vets none of the other vets could do anything for her, they just kept putting her on antibiotics and steroids which made the problem far far worse. The very first visit to Chatham animal clinic and they diagnosed her with scabies, they gave her the correct medications gave me proper guidance on what needed to be done, and in just a little while my dog was looking and feeling much much better even better than before she had shown any issues. I will not go anywhere but Chatham animal clinic thank you guys for saving my baby!!!

Chatham Animal Clinic is absolutely phenomenal. My 1.5 year old yellow lab saw Dr. Victoria Shorter and she is AMAZING. I love that I was able to stay with him in the room during his treatment, and the fact that Dr. Shorter and the other lady (whose name I can't remember) got in the floor with him and were SO loving and caring throughout the entire visit. Dr. Paul Erwin runs a fantastic clinic and has the best team!! I have never felt more comfortable and assured that he is in wonderful hands. They got me in the next day because he had an ear infection and I was not even there for 20 minutes. They also sent an email and text the next day to check on him which is so thoughtful. It is well worth the drive to Chatham for such wonderful, individualized care!

Started the new year nursing a sick 4 legged baby. Apparently my usual vet is closed today, would have been nice to know their holiday schedule or at least had it on their answering machine message. Called Chatham Animal Clinic and was told to come on in and they’d work us in. Quick exam, tests, X-rays, and very detailed instructions later, we were in and out! We were welcomed as if we had always been their clients, and we will be now! It’s nice to know that if something is wrong I’ve got help 24/7 because illness and injuries are never scheduled!

Warning: ***super sappy review****My dog was hit by a car a little less than a month ago. Before we came to Chatham animal clinic we had went to two other vets in attempt to save my sweet boy, Solace. The other veterinarians that saw him before Dr. Victoria Shorter, had prepared me to put him down. The first vet I took him to said that he had a broken pelvis and that was it (they didn’t thoroughly examine him as I was later told by vet #2 that’s he was suffering from internal bleeding. There was no guarantee that he was going to make it due to a broken pelvis, a broken back, bruised lungs amongst other organs, and internal bleeding. Chatham animal clinic refused to give up on him and so did I. After nearly 8 inches of intestine removed, a lot of love from their staff, physical therapy, and nearly a month of care that I wasn’t able to provide for him by myself, today I was officially able to take him home. He still has awhile before he will be completely healed. I am so grateful that we have the rest of his life to spend together. I can promise you I will never take my animals anywhere else and there won’t be a second of regret when it comes to driving the 40 minutes it takes from my house to the clinic for my peace of mind and knowing that they are receiving THE BEST care. Words cannot express how grateful I am for Chatham animal clinic and their staff. Me and solace love you guys so much and are so thankful.

I have used every Vet at this business.. Paul has come to my house everytime I had a problem with my horse. I haven't had the pleasure of having Dr. Barker. I unfortunately lost my horse. Victoria hasn't been there as long, but she is courteous, knowledgeable, and very eager to get to the problem. A pleasure to see her. And Dr. Lisa! I have known her since she was a little girl and have trusted her with all of my babies. She has never failed me and is the best at diagnosing a problem. She is also the best surgeon in the area! My animals are my children. I am picky, demanding, and would not trust them to just anyone! CAC meets every criteria needed.

We are always very happy with the service at Chatham Animal Clinic - the staff is friendly and helpful and the vets are very knowledgeable. We also use the large animal vets at this practice and they are great. Your questions are always answered and you are treated with respect and kindness. The after hours vet service is really welcome since animals seem to need them at all hours of the night or weekends. That is important to us.

Superior service in every aspect! Lisa and Victoria are quick to diagnose and are known to exhaust all possible efforts to save an animal's life. We are grateful we were referred here by another client when our dog needed emergency surgery. All staff are professional and courteous and this clinic is really current with technology. We feel the charges are reasonable, by no means overpriced.
