John Grisham was there today buying an obscene amount of cheap Bic pens. Armloads of pens. Bucketfuls of pens. Cascades of pens. I asked him, "so you doing some writing this weekend?" He said, "No, I like to give these away to deserving strangers" and began stuffing the pens into his handsome, oversized, many-pocketed fishing vest. A few spilled out on to the floor. I reached down to help him regather. "Can I have one then?" Snatching the stray pens he whispered "no" and rushed out to his expensive electric car.

NEVER GO TO THIS STAPLES. It’s severely understaffed and the staff they do have are unreliable and rude. During my most recent visit, I called to check on my business’s printing order that I was ON THE WAY to pick up - the clerk told me a big order came in last minute and that my order was cancelled. He offered no notice, no solution, and no support. I’ve had too many bad experiences at this location. Spend your money elsewhere.

I was completely WOWED by the customer service I received from Ashana Shakya (in the printing department) to the point I asked for her card. She listened to what I wanted to accomplish, had several great/clever suggestions on how I could do what I wanted and then got it done quickly. All with a very pleasant, calm demeanor. It was evident she knew her job inside and out and easily helped another employee without missing a beat. I would give more than 5 stars if that was an option.

Came to print out from USB. Tried using copy machines and non can read USB. Tried Laptop, kept giving me errors. Asked for help and was told they’re too busy to print it from their computer. Was asked to wait one hour to get it printed if I wanted to. Very poor customer service. Don’t think I’ll be coming back.Update: as the staff kept telling me that my USB is broken. It turns out I had the wrong file format and their copy machines won’t read it. I found out about it when I went to another location and knowledgeable employee helped me connect the file type.

Going to this Staples is hell. 2/3 of the printers are almost always out of order and there's never anyone manning the printing/copying desk. A 5 minute task at Staples takes 20 minutes, minimum

Terrible service when trying to drop off a pre-labeled UPS package. Our label was for UPS Surepost, which travels across country via UPS, then last mile delivery by USPS. The employee told us to take our package up the hill and drop it off at the USPS package dropbox. They then scanned the USPS barcode on the label, and tried to convince us that we need drop it at the post office. When I pointed out they scanned the USPS barcode, not the UPS barcode, they argued with me that they scanned the correct one. This employee claims to have worked at Staples for 10 years. If this is true, I truly hope Staples will provide more training for this person so they can be more helpful and accurate in the future.Frustrating experience- I do not recommend this location.

Pit of despair!! Workers are unfriendly, slow and nowhere around to help answer questions. Place is messy and unorganized. My prediction is that this and many other staples will go out of business within the next 5 years.

Went there to do a print job from an email attachment, using a self-service printer. Instructions were clear, procedure was straightforward, and no human interaction required. Quality output.

This is a review for the passport photo experience ONLY. I mean I printed a few sheets and it went okay but I want to single out the passport photos. The guy they have there is great. Conscientious, calm, and very willing to work with you. Patient too. It was a real nightmare of a time going back and forth to fedex office, CVS (unspeakable horror), and finally to Staples.Really if you want good passport photos and want to make sure you don’t look horribly blurry I recommend coming here. Don’t know how the other workers are but the man who served me was great. Beard, big arms, ex military.

Wonderful experience. Sales rep Rebecca was extra helpful and very patient in dealing with my print job. She listened to my needs and showed great customer service. She has business for now on.

Armonie SAVED the day. We went in this morning needing marketing collateral printed on short notice and he hooked us up. He made it so easy for us, made our experience the best. If his boss is reading this you have a true customer service genius on your hands!

Just purchased an office chair and the team in the store was kind, helpful, and efficient. Thein-store chair selection was better than I’d hoped for. Price was reasonable, too. What more can you ask for!? Thanks Staples team!

Had an amazing experience working with La'Tisha at the copy center. She spent a lot of time helping us out and making sure our order was perfect. This was for our wedding programs so it meant a lot to us! Staples is lucky to have her!

The Staples staff is usually very helpful and courteous, especially the copy center staff, with whom I've interacted many times. Today, however, the young man I think a manager advising staff about US postal regulations, was both uninformed and rude. He refused to send a package for me via Media Mail because he, "had insufficient training regarding media mail." I gave him the appropriate information, and he still refused to mail my package media mail. He told me, "You can go to the Post Office if you don't like it." He also told me that "Media Mail must be text books, only." I told him that I have been mailing books and videotapes via Media Mail for years, and that the books I had for mailing were eligible for Media Mail. He then insisted that he was right that only text books can be mailed by media mail and he again refused to send my package media mail.I mailed the package priority which cost considerably more, but I had already entered all the information into the computer terminal. If Staples is going to be a USPS terminal and is going to promote itself as such, then it must make certain that its staff is up to speed. And that if they are inadequately trained, that they accept the knowledge and wisdom of customers who have sent books via Media Mail for years. This young man was rude and arrogant as well as uninformed.I wish I had his name so that I could make it public. He's the first Staples staff member I've encountered with such an arrogant attitude. I've been a Staples Business Rewards Member for at least 15 years.

The laptop I wanted on the display wasn't in stock. So I had to buy another one. It took 20 minutes for an associate to get it from the back room. Also they were pushy about me buying the warranty. I refused and they told me that I was throwing my money away. Basically saying that the laptop was garbage. They lied about the specs. I truly regret this purchase . My experience was terrible . Never going to shop there again.

I am posting this review to respond to the criticism put forth by Yuntian G. Although I will try to shed some light on some pricing policies, this narrative response is simply my commentary, and it does not reflect the opinions of Staples in any official capacity. Any errors are mine and mine alone.First, Yuntian G., I apologize if you had a confusing and disrespectful experience with Print & Marketing. I try to provide excellent customer service. However, I am human and sometimes miss the mark.Anyhow, I feel that I inadequately explained some of the pricing policies of Print & Marketing. Any print job, a blueprint or otherwise, will incur an express or rush fee, if the job needs to be completed in under 24 hours.I realize the pricing structures can, at times, cause confusion. The express/rush fee itself typically guarantees a turn-time of 1 hour.As a hypothetical, if a customer needs to have a project completed within 12 hours, then the customer must still pay an express fee. However, customers who drop off their projects, and do not need a quick turn time, typically receive their projects no later than 24 hours from placement of order(s). In this case, the customer is exempt from rush fees (as they are irrelevant). At times, we can get print jobs back to customers who had opted for the 24 hour service much sooner, but we make no guarantees, as this is dependent on a number of factors including, but not limited, to production volume, staffing levels, and so forth. To put it simply, it is the timeline for completion, not the nature of the project itself, which will trigger (or not trigger) a rush fee. Likewise, some jobs are too big or too complex for a rush. I try to be as explicit as possible about rush fees, so that customers can choose whether or not they wish to opt for a quicker, but more expensive service.Again, Yuntian G., I apologize if you felt I was boasting about my PhD degree. For I am simply a PhD student, and I sometimes mention that I am in grad school to try to convey interest in and sympathy for other grad students who often must complete projects on tight budgets and tight timelines. Again, I am imperfect, and I apologize if you felt that I was either boastful or dismissive. As far as the statement, "Note he took a noticeably adequate amount of time what [sic.] I gave him very explicit instructions on size and type of blueprints I wanted," is not something I wish to dispute. Nevertheless, I still have to determine the true size of a document or if the underlying aspect ratio of a document will scale to a particular size. For example, I can't turn one aspect ratio into another aspect ratio--just some simple geometry. Additionally, some blueprints, and most academic posters, include a number of layers. The underlying data that constitute these layers typically require flattening, so to speak, and what might appear a simple task can grow somewhat complex (such as my run on sentences, just kidding). However, flattening data typically has no bearing on scalability. Yet, if a particular layer includes low quality data--or low dpi images, tables, and the like--then I try to alert a customer to this before I print anything that may include elements that will result in a pixelated or otherwise problematic document.TL;DR: This post is much longer than I originally intended. Yet, if you, Yuntian G, were to stop by this week, I would offer you my sincerest apologies. Also, I hope this post offered some clarity, not just more confusion.

This Staples has the BEST customer service. Nina and Jordan were awesome and super helpful, and then Kenny spent almost a 1/2 hour helping me out as well. 10/10, will always go to this staples :)

This staples is supposed to be one of the nicer ones- by reading reviews I had assumed so. However, when I called to ask if something was in stock, they had no one answering the phones. I was on the phone waiting for 10 minutes, and that's not even an exaggeration. Upon entering the store, I was STILL on hold. My friend that was with me was yelled at across the store by (I assume) a manager. Now it may have been in good fun being that my friend made the mistake of coming to this location rather than to Best Buy, but across the store with full staff was ridiculous and unprofessional. Perhaps management should look into answering phones, knowing where product is, and perhaps knowing the meaning of tact. This place is a waste of time, I would avoid it at all costs.

The staff at the copy center have been extremely helpful, despite being understaffed and overworked. I find the staff at the store to also be helpful and easy to talk to. I don't usually write reviews of businesses, but felt the staff at this Staples deserved some credit.

Clean store, helpful employees! One gentleman overheard my husband and myself doing our playful "bickering" that we do. He came over to tell us how funny he found us, and we had a good laugh with him about it. That certainly brightened my afternoon; I really appreciate it when people recognize how funny I am. 💁It certainly doesn't hurt that they are right next door to Gearhart's either... 👀😆 Errands are *so* rough, amirite? Better go treat myself to the best chocolate ever while I wait for the lovely people at Staples to laminate my papers. 🤷

Printing services here are HORRIFIC and the staff are remarkably unhelpful and rude. They can't even center their print jobs. All of the things mentioned online (paper quality, full bleed, etc.) when I purchased were not included in the actual job, and I was left with "printed" brochures right before a trade show that looked worse than a color printer from 1995. Go elsewhere.

Typically the kinds of things I look for there simply aren't there--though they were in the past carried--I mean basic things like Parker ballpoint pen refills or thin-ruled yellow paper pads. . . these days, it's better not to go to Staples and immediately look online to order such things.

Today, we shopped at our local Staples store in Shopper's World in Charlottesville. Tyler helped us immensely, going above and beyond to make sure we found what we were looking for. He was patient and courteous with us. I have always found the staff at both Charlottesville locations to be very helpful and friendly.

Worst experience ever!...when I finished with my shopping I found out that my vehicle disappeared from the parking lot...I though my car was stolen, to my surprise an employee from this store was also looking for his vehicle and I found out that the manager rurinately call a towing company to take vehicles away!!!...absolutely ridiculous an embarrassing, that alone cost me $125.00 in charges to get my car back, called the police to get the manager to retrieve my car unsuccessfully!!!This is not going to be impune, an I'm hiring a layer...Staples is treating his customers this way shamefully!!!!

The printing services here are AWFUL. The employees aren’t helpful when it comes to the self-printing machines. I had to go to the other Staples on 29. I recommend always going to the one on 29, the one downtown is an absolute madhouse!
