Hands down the best place to go in Charlottesville! Affordable, quick, polite, and quality! I have had over 6 bridesmaid dresses ($50-85 each depending on the dress), skirts, coats, and my wedding dress ($120!!!! Fitted, hemmed, and bustled!!!) tailored here and have never been disappointed. There are no frills but she does an incredible job. At first I thought, there is no way she got all those measurements so quickly - then it was absolutely perfect. It’s incredible. She is a true artist and very talented! You won’t be disappointed in the outcome, promise!

Excellent! Don't let the location of this shop make you pass it by! Located off of an alley in the downtown mall, Simons parking is available along the alley or within walking distance of the shop. Google maps directions are correct. The owner was able to accommodate me and my daughter with an unusual need and went out of her way to ensure that she exceeded our expectations. This is the second time that I have used this shop for alterations and I have not been disappointed. I recommend her to friends and family. Excellent work!

Does great work, and at affordable rates which means I can always come back!Btw, the her shop is in an alley, easy to miss.I used to go through a lot of fast fashion clothes and hated it, but Simin helps my clothes last years. Just last week I came to her for a couple patch jobs, and I discovered she’d taken some fabric from a pocket and took care of a bleach spot as well— Above and beyond. Thanks!

I have gotten two bridesmaid dresses altered here, one of which I ordered the wrong size and it had to be let out. Simins was absolutely amazing and helped me get my dress ready in a tight turn around and did it to where you can't tell it was altered. Also for a very reasonable price! I will be taking everything I need altered here.

Simin is by far the best in town with alterations. I can't review her work on linen or furniture, but she has plenty of projects on those in the store at all times, so I'm sure she's just as good there. She is very helpful with advice and extremely nice. She has the best reviews for a reason.

I have had several good experiences bringing my pants and jackets for alterations. They are reasonable priced compared to other tailors in Charlottesville, they have always been attentive and courteous, and lastly, they have quickly completed the alterations I have asked for. I would highly recommend Simin's to a friend or family member.

I had my bridesmaid dress hemmed here, and they did a wonderful job. Don't be alarmed by the shabbiness of the shop interior. It is hard to find , down a side alley off water street. The alley is hidden right by the pet store "Doody Calls".

This place is a great find. I needed two pairs of dress pants shortened and took them to Simin's. It was a little hard to find (the alley off of 4th Street, look for the CACF sign on 4th street, between the Mall and Water Street) and I had to call and ask for directions. The lady was very polite and professional. I got my pants back in the less than 24 hours, even though I didn't ask for that short of a turn around time. I've worn both pairs since, and the sewing is very well done. Whenever I have any other tailoring needs, I'm going to go back here.

Simin tailored 2 suits for me. Impeccable work, you can't even tell which seams are hers & which are original. She also accommodated my schedule with a rush. No credit cards! The shop is hidden down an alley, access from 4th St SE.

I would give 0 stars if I could.Dropped off some dress shirts for tailoring at the end of April, was told I could pick them up early May. When I came in the first time in mid-May my shirts had not been done. I came back today (early June) and the shirts had still not been touched.When I asked for my shirts back so I could take them to another tailor, the young lady working started making excuses about her manager being sick and unable to do the work in a timely fashion. When I insisted that I still wanted my shirts back she changed her tune (and tone) and refused to give them to me stating that her manager needed to be present.It was only when I made it clear that I would not be paying for any alterations even if they were done today that she relented and gave me my shirts back.Incredibly unprofessional, uncomfortable, and overall bizarre experience. Not sure how this place has gotten so many glowing reviews.
