This is a New Favorite Toy Store. The staff are incredibly kind and know a lot about all the different brands they carry and trust. We loved that we could support this local business during the Holiday Season especially. The store is very well organized including Infant/New Baby favorites, preschool, school age and kept very clean. Covid-19 safety procedures are in place that kept a minimum number of shoppers allowed in the store at a time and when entering hand sanitizer is available and asked to be used. We appreciated how much thought Shenanigans has for carrying a fantastic selection of highly and popularly reviewed brands. They have a great variety of gorgeous, fun puzzles for different ages. Lots of great books, Legos, building kits, arts and crafts kits, dress up clothes and other imaginative/creative costumes, the softest selection of stuffed animals, pretend animals from large dinosaurs to farm animals, fun jewelry and kid-safe nail polishes.

The store is well laid out with a large variety of toys at every eye level so even kids can look at things. The staff is incredibly helpful and you're sure to find something for anyone for every occasion! We also loved all the Christmasy decor, including the elf for the elf scavenger hunt!

I have been coming to Shenanigans since I was a small child in Charlottesville. It has always been my favorite toy store, and the new owners have kept the store as magical as I remembered. This was my first visit in years, and I was so touched by the lovely customer service from Frank, who was patient and kind with my niece and nephew! Thank you, Shenanigans, for keeping this kid at heart wide eyed and wonderful.

I finally tracked down and placed an order online to replace a bracelet my daughter lost. I didn't realize until after that the color was randomly selected. I emailed thinking it was a lost cause to request the pink and almost immediately got a response saying they grabbed the order, went into the back, and were sending me the last 2 pink ones. Customer service was beyond phenomenal, shipping fast, and seeing my daughters smile/relief was priceless. It wouldn't have happened without their help.

This toy store is magical! We visit a few times a year. I have found great toys for birthday and holiday gifts, as well as the car ride home. Knowledgeable, helpful employees and great owner. Make the trip and treat your little ones to something they can carry home.

Whenever I’m in Charlottesville, Shenanigans is always at the top of my list to visit. Between the excellent staff and cozy, welcoming atmosphere it is one of my favorite places, especially during the holiday season. The owner is wonderful and has personally helped me pick out the perfect gifts time after time, she has great insight and stocks great products. If you’re out of state and need an order, they are prompt with shipping and super responsive with any and all questions. They have made my holiday shopping so much easier and I highly recommend them for any and all of your shopping needs.

I love love love this toy store. Aside from the fact that I can find anything I need for the kids in my life, I get lost in there admiring all the amazing and cool toys. The staff is fantastic, knowledgeable and incredibly friendly.Edited 5 years later because I now have nmy own kids: this is, hands down, my favorite toy store in Charlottesville. I LOVE going there. Took my 3 year old and it was magical. The staff is so kind and clearly loves kids. They even helped me make a stash of toys my kid didn't see so she could be surprised at Christmas.

This store provides the best customer service you will ever find. If you want a truly special gift for a child, the staff will help. I get shopping recommendations for our grandchildren every time. Just tell them the interests of the child and the knowledgeable staff will give you 2 or 3 options. I called 1 day before our grandson's birthday and got personal help finding a gift while looking at the toys on my own computer. After I made my choice, the gift was wrapped and I picked it up curbside. A great shopping experience!

Shenanigans is my absolute go-to store for Birthdays, Holidays and Just Because gifts! They carry items for all ages (even adults) and Amanda and her staff are always willing to take you around the store to give you suggestions based on age or price point. We love Shenanigans! Our family has been going to Shenanigans since I was a little girl, and we have always been so pleased with both the friendly service and the thoughtful selection of toys. This past spring during Covid-19, they did an amazing job of picking out and safely delivering toys to a family friend for us. They have taken great precautions during the current Covid-19 climate, and we feel very safe in the store. Best place to go for toys in Charlottesville!

A small independent toy store. While they may not have the sheer inventory of a place like the now gone Toys-R-Us, they use their space wisely to stock a large variety of toys, many of them educational or creative. Everything they have is of great quality and fairly priced.More than that, everytime I have come in the staff has prove to be courteous, knowledgeable, and, above all, helpful.If you are looking to get some toys for someone you care about, I can think of few place in town I would rather go.
