I’m not sure how this is not animal cruelty. They have other fish in tanks that have way more room, but these fish literally look dead. They aren’t moving, but are very much alive. Sad way to live; made me very depressed that I had to leave.

Only went here once because I was out of the way from the other location I go to but the staff were super nice and this may be frowned upon but I impulse-purchased a Asian Forest Scorpion (which PLEEEEASE for the love of god do not do that if you’re not certain you can take care of it) I already had supplies and things to adjust humidity, and shortly after buying it I bought a bigger enclosure for it too.It’s name is death grips (: super chill. My sweet Bella had a grooming appointment today, I got there the time of my appointment to find out they canceled my appointment, they claim they called and left a message WASN’T NOT TRUE. As much money l spend there, someone could call and apologize. I asked Alex who claim they called me he didn’t answer me nor apologized for the inconvenience. Definitely will not shop nor get my sweet girl groomed there.

This location is okay for supply needs, however, they greatly lack in employees that seem to care for animals. I’ve been in numerous times over the last couple of months and each time, there have been sick fish. Upon notifying an associate, her response was, “yes I know but they won’t do anything about it.” This evening while picking up dog food, I happened across a series of tanks with countless dead fish and fish that were near death. When I asked the general manager about the situation, he contributed the deaths to stress from shipment and stated he had yet to see any ich present in the tanks. His attitude was very “nonchalant” and clarified why there is such an issue.

The day before Thanksgiving in the evening we were so impressed with the young lady that was feeding the critters. Specifically she was feeding the lizards, scorpion... And so was spraying down the reptile tanks. She not only allowed my daughter, husband and myself to watch but she explained everything she was doing and my daughter got some valuable information. She was also at the register when it was time to leave and she was so very nice, helpful and professional! I've always had positive experiences when I go into this PetSmart that's near Merchant Rd. at the new 5th street station in Charlottesville VA but this young lady went way above and beyond for me and my family.

I went to petsmart to pick up a few snails and found a female glow betta in one of the dirtiest cups I have ever seen in a pet store. I chose her because I wanted to attempt in helping her have a better life. I know a decent amount about fish and have three tanks that I maintain extremely well. After about four days of having her she was no longer able to swim unless it meant sporadically flipping along the surface of the water. Once I noticed her really odd swimming patters I moved her into a separate cup and noticed what you’re seeing in the photo I attached. Some sort of bacterial infection maybe, I’m not sure, but petsmart, do better. It is not okay for any customer to have to see the state your aquatics department, especially your betta cups. Do better.

Was told I had to leave the store because I had a dog in training with me. It was raining and I was using the store as a public outing for the dog. There are no signs that say you can’t bring well behaved dogs in and nothing on the website either.

Great place! They fit us in last minute and made my two huskies smell, look, and feel great. One is an abuse rescue and is obviously very timid, and they really took their time with her and made sure she was comfortable. The price was also super cheap, they loaded on some sales they had going on and gave me $10 off for being a new client. I’ll be back!

Brought my dog here to be groomed. His rabies expired last month. Despite wearing a current tag, they required records from my vet. Ok fine. My vet opened in less than ten minutes. They canceled his appointment afree we’ve driven 45 minutes there and refused to groom him because they had another big dog coming in and didn’t have time to wait. You can’t wait 7 minutes? What if he was uncooperative? Do you just not finish? Do you force him? Terrible customer service. Won’t be back. My dogs health and safety matter most.

I have a 55 gallon fish tank full of African cichlids. In a 35-gallon both face tank purchased from PetSmart full of promise and rainbow shark I'll purchase from PetSmart!

Helpful employees, prices a bit on the high side..... Have a new Golden Retriever puppy and we're a little shell-shocked at the cost of taking care of his needs! Found a seat divider (to keep the dog solidly in the back seat!) for $32 on Amazon, after seeing the same thing for $45 at Petsmart. Every little bit helps when you're inundated with vet visits, vaccinations, neutering, needing the $60 bag of high protein dog food for intestinal issues, vitamins, meds, dog bed, toys, dishes, harnesses, leads, ID tags,chew sticks, car seat cover and divider, kennel, etc....all on top of what you spent to get the dog! 🙄 But he's awesome! We'll still save when and wherever we can!

Made an appointment with the grooming services over a month before the actual cut date. Went in for the appointment just for them to tell me they were too busy to take my dog. Seemed like employee lazyness. Now we must wait another month

My wife and I brought our puppy (Samson) to Saraya for training, and she was absolutely amazing. She asked questions, and gave advice that was applicable in and outside of the classroom setting. My dog loves her, and I appreciate her passion for what she does.

On Nov 4th I visited and the older lady at front register was so unfamiliar with customers service. She got rude with me. We spend 300 a month there. That will stop today. This is a prime example of you take. What walks in the door.

Terrible attitudes and not welcoming! The store seem to struggle with help. My dogs hair cut was a mess and amateur. My dog was dehydrated and scared for her life. They lock dogs in cages because they over boom appointments.

I am so grateful for such an amazing experience. My dog is very nervous about having his nails cut and Brittany had him calmer than I've ever seen him in 7 years! Curt help us find the perfect harness and Karyn helped us find a reasonable priced organic canned dog food. Well worth the hour drive!

Great location, easy parking, always a good selection for all our cat needs. The staff were the highlight, they helped us find what we needed and when we found a better price on Amazon, they were great about honoring the price match guarantee. We walked out saving a good amount of money and really pleases with our experience. We will be back!

My dog and I enjoy going here. It's a safe place for her socialization. The staff is helpful. The products are great. The prices fairly reasonable overall. The rewards program has been updated to be more favorable to patrons. I appreciate that the staff always asks if they can approach my dog. She was a rescue who was abused by a male, so the staff respecting boundaries is so important in building her trust of people and avoiding unnecessary altercations or stressors.

They still have solid gold on shelves while there is a recall out for slivers of metal being found in the food. They do not care about you or your pets do not shop here. Also they dont find it "important enough" to say anything about it. There are no warnings in store or anything. Absolutely horrible

Getting dog food here is fine. Then we went here to get my daughter a chameleon for her birthday. They sold us the chameleon and setup, and were going to let me walk out without food. I had to ask, "what do I feed it?" The lady sold me some crickets. I was given no instructions. 7 months later, he's sick and I found out that the standard setups they sell (with dome lights) do not provide enough UVB. He might not make it. Poor guy. All because I couldn't get any good education or advice from the staff at this store. Very irresponsible to sell pets this way, especially ones that require more advanced care. I've also returned to buy crickets, only to see bins full of dead bugs. Sad.

I went in this store today for help with fish supplies that I know nothing about - it is a fish tank at my job. I asked for help and this girl came. I was trying to explain to her some items I had that I needed and other items that I had boxes for in my hand I also needed. She was rude and condescending. The manager walked down the aisle and I asked if he had the filter I was looking for. He told me, "He had never seen anything like that before in his life and they didn't carry anything like that." I told him well it was purchased from the Petsmart in Forest Lakes. As a manager, he is setting a fine example for his employees. Potentially that is why they act the way they do - they see it all day!

Went to get fish and it took forever to get help from an employee. It was another employee there who addressed my questions after we chose fish in the cups for ourselves. Also wanted to get a cat one day and the employee acted as if she really didn’t want me to get the cat with all of these questions before the adoption process even took place and I really didn’t have the time that day so I didn’t because my ride was waiting on me. Kind of a bummer because my children and I really love animals and they were expecting a cat when I got home.
