It was my first time taking my dog to the grooming and I was very content. Chloe C showed her expertise by cutting my dog’s hair and cleaning her teeth. My dog’s hair was fluffy, smooth, and had the perfect length. This has been one of the best haircuts my dog has ever had.

The manager that works at the location on Community St. should retire. I’m not sure of his name but he’s the only elderly bald guy that works there as a manager. His customer service sucks and he’s always rude! This is my second interaction with him and it was worse than the first. I did an online order the website was offering 20 percent off for online orders to the store. One of the items I ordered wasn’t in stock even though the website said it was. No big deal ! The item was an aquarium filter. I asked him since they did not have it could I get a different filter and they honor the 20 percent off.Surely I thought he say yes. Instead he shakes his head while I’m asking and says Nope I can’t do that! The perk is 20 percent off for ordering online! Then proceeds to talk to the younger cashier about my question. Basically saying I was stupid for asking such a thing . I then went to the other location on 5 th street. This is my usual go to but they were out of some of the items I needed. The manager there had no issue honoring my request. They always have the best customer service and everyone at this location is very helpful, friendly!I will not be going back to that once located on Community St.

Staff is great !!!! . . . but sometimes the Grooming Salon closes earlier than stated. I recommend setting an appointment instead of just walking-in. Good selection of seasonal items for dogs. . . . even holiday costumes.

The gentleman in the fish section was very knowledgeable and helpful with our purchase. We were in and out in a few minutes and it was a very enjoyable experience. Thank you PetSmart

Store is great but the people in grooming don’t know how to do their jobs and work with dogs, they cancel my appointment and then call me asking to reschedule twice then cancelling day of. because a puppy has too much energy the leave him wet and cold in a kennel and expect him to not freak out.WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANY PET OWNERBanfield staff are either rude or nice, with the vets trying to up-charge at any chance, sucks that this is the only one around with the banfield.

Purchased six panda cory catfish here two weeks ago, four didn't make it. When I tried to purchase more today, the same associate told me that I could only have three at a time in a thirty gallon tank and refused to sell more than that. Having three schooling fish alone in a thirty gallon tank is cruel, but I noticed that they were applying that rule to other customers ahead of me, so apparently that is their policy now.I understand that they are difficult to keep in stock, but I don't think that the solution is to lie to customers. Or former customers, like myself. I won't patronize any business that prioritizes profit over care for animals.

My dog was groomed here and I was called about 2 hours after drop off stating the groomer noticed a little Knick from the last time she was groomed and it’s a little blood so they took here to Bansfield to check out. I spoke with the Vet and she said the incident just occurred that morning and it’s a little knick. They wanted to glue the skin together b/c they didn’t want to sedated due to a heart murmur. I get there and she has a deep laceration on each inner thigh to the white meat. I asked the Vet in front of the Manager Scott and the person from the grooming dept who called me, how deep was it, she stated just surface level and it looked worst than it actually was. It was deep and the emergency vet (VETSS) I took her to stated it was deep and stitches or staples would be what they would recommend but due to her heart murmur we decided on glue, 10 days of antibiotics and pain meds. Scott the manager offered to pay and refund what I paid for the grooming but it turned into an all day event. She’s a 5lbs, 12 y/o dog, that was deeply cut not once but twice. There didn’t seem to be professional groomers this morning or groomers with care for my dog at least. Never had these types of problems until now. Will not return.

Head's up, the groomers here are typically great but right now the salon is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday temporarily due to staffing issues. Found this out after driving 30 minutes to get there; hopefully they'll update Google with their temporary hours so other people don't have to waste an hour of their day & gas. Or at least put a physical sign, currently they have no notice about their temporary hours, you have to ask an employee.

The PetSmart in Hollymead is a wonderful store! It has everything you need, whether your critter is feline, canine, amphibian or fish. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and Cathy Sites, the manager, really works hard to make your visit a success. All the major brands are on the shelves, plus an array of specialty foods for folks who prefer more organic options.In addition to pet food sales, this store is hosts cats and kittens for adoption from a local animal shelter, and is home to Banfield Veterinary Clinic. Occasionally a nonprofit group, like Cat Action Team (pictured below), will have a display table or an event benefitting the featured nonprofit. This increases community awareness and sales simultaneously. Win win!

This PetSmart has some of the friendliest associates! If they don't know the answer, they find help quickly.The trainer, Caleb, is one of the best in our area. He has helped & still helping me train several dogs. One went from Beginner to Therapy Dog classes with Caleb & that dog just passed his national therapy dog test. I highly recommend his classes!!! (Don't just take Beginner if you want a well trained dog.)Their Grooming is good. However, they tend to go too close to the skin around the eyes with clippers, which results in ingrown hairs or nicked skin.Product selection is decent.

Very unprofessional behavior in the grooming department. Allowed us to get an appointment over the phone and when we showed up they refused service because it hasn’t been a full week since our pup got his rabies shot. Yet somehow he was able to get a puppy bath and trim at a different Petsmart location weeks ago with no issues. Wasted our time allowing us to set up an appointment only to refuse service when we arrived.

The gals at the grooming center are so great! Amber is such a professional- she is an expert at cuts and care - keeps my baby pretty, silky smooth, trimmed and smelling good! Bravo to all the ladies there!

Great staff, clean store, and their pet grooming/bathing area is wonderful! They offer a punch card to bathe your dogs that allows 5 baths for $40, and they provide all the towels, shampoo, dryers, and aprons. They also have a good variety of animals for sale. They do price match as well!

Went to pick up a few items all I can say is RUDE, the sales man Mike and the male manager were very impatient, One of my items was marked 39.99. It rang up 44.99. The manager said they didn't take the Sale price down didn't offer me that price so I requested it. I felt that they treated me as a bother will not return

Waited over 15 minutes for crickets which would have been fine until I saw the three DEAD young goldfish being SWARMED by their living comrades around 6 p.m. they had obviously been there for quite some time. Do better PetSmart.Not to mention the hamsters for sale wheels and hides that are not sized appropriately in the cages that they live in until adoption. Easily could get spinal injuries with a Teddy bear hamster with a under 5" wheel. I only shop for crickets here, and I would not shop here again if the prices online were better for crickets. Adopt don't shop. Run don't walk away from local pet stores like this who take no care in the animals who live there.

This petsmart is one of the better ones that I have been able to get to. We have prescription food that we need to have for several of our pets, and they have a wide selection of brands for the prescription foods. You're not bound to 1 or 2 brands. it's very clean here and most of the staff have the information you're looking for . The prices comparable to other chain pet stores. The grooming salon is fairly well. They're not the greatest in cuts but they are very polite and very easy to get an appointment and great with the pet. They just need to get more experience on the use of the cutting and clipping. Parking is great

Great store with a huge selection of food, medicine, and treats for cats, dogs, and other pets. I found everything I needed and all the associates were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going here in the future for my pet's needs.

We just moved to the area, and were looking for somewhere to take our pups for a nail trim. As we took our pups to Petsmart in South Carolina, we wanted to try out the location in the Hollymead town center first. We called in advance, and were told, as the website stated, that we could walk in for a nail trim, and we said we’d head right over. We made our way to the store, and we’re let in with our pups by a store associate.No one was in the grooming area, so after a few minutes of waiting, I walked back out to see if anyone was available to assist us. Per the day manager, the grooming hours posted online and on the physical building are wrong, and have been wrong for over 2 years. She stated the grooming department wasn’t open until 9.I’m wholly unsure as to why we were let in the building, before the store opened, and were told nothing, before making our way back to the grooming area…I stated if the hours were wrong, those should be updated. She replied they were short staffed, and that was the end of our conversation. What’s most concerning is that if I hadn’t walked back out, we likely would have been waiting there for 45 minutes, without a word from anyone….as the only customers there…in a closed store…with multiple associates working.As this is a National corporation, I would hope they’d be able to get updated information online and on their physical building to ensure their customers receive accurate hours of operation and services offered before heading over.Not impressed with the customer service, at all. This location would greatly benefit from customer service training and continuing education. We will not be returning, but there is a Petco up the road we’ll be frequenting from now on, with accurate information and better customer service.

I'm starting to get really frustrated with the petsmart at 101 community street in Charlottesville VA. I have a bearded dragon who requires live crickets for food. The last couple of times that my husband has gone to the store to get crickets including today he has been told that he couldn't purchase any or very few crickets, because the store needed the crickets for the animals in the store to be fed. Our bearded dragon is out and needed crickets tonight, but staff wouldn't sell him any because the store needed all them.Why doesn't the store order the crickets they need and keep them separate in the back from where they keep ones customers can purchase so customers can get live food for their animals to be fed to? We as customers deserve to be sold what is out on the floor so we can properly care for our animals just as much as they want to care for the animals in the store. I would hate to have to start ordering crickets just because I can't get them from the store when we need them.

Very cared for and nice store. I took my 110lb pit bull named hulk and he was unbelievably rowdy. I picked him up after and I couldn't believe how great he acted after I took him here. Very well reccomend this pet store.

Rude as heck! The man usually at the register is rude and argumentative. The female manager is horribly rude. I order from Chewy, Pet Flow, Petco & Amazon most of the time. I hate this Petsmart store.

Terrible customer service in the grooming department - rude, taunted my dog, made to feel like a bad pet parent, etc. Cancelled my appointment the morning of - claimed my dog tried to bite them at check-in but I was standing right there. He flinched because she was pulling on his face, he did not try to bite her. They were just looking for an excuse to lighten the load that day due to over booking before the holiday. I made the appointment weeks before. Will never take either of my dogs back for grooming and will be switching to another store for food/supplies.
