The staff is very nice and they will price match to online. I went in after adopting a new kitten, and the staff helped me out to pick out the things I needed, including pheromones, to help introduce her to the resident cat. Both our cats use their vet services, and they are equally delightful. I highly recommend them.

They did a wonderful job on my dog he’s a lab/retriever mix with short hair but he sheds a lot. They did a great job with the furminator wash. I can pet him and not have a clump of hair. I will be back

3 months later, and still the lady had 20 questions about us buying another fish and seemed disgusted with us selling it to us. I said thank you and she didn't say anything.. she needs to be moved to a different department and in the meantime we're going to pet supplies to get fish from now on

If i could give it 0 stars i would.Went into this petco to use the women's bathroom and couldnt get to it because they were blocking it with table full of stuff. Had to move the table to just get into it. 6 inch gap.Once inside of the bathroom, i had seen there was NO toilet paper, NO soap, and NO paper towels.So how are the people suppose to wash their hands and stay sanitary? Spreadinh germs/covid/feces. Thankfully i have sanitizer in my purse.Once i open door to leave, someone had pushed table back to the door of the bathroom basically blocking a way out.I will be calling Corporate.I would call health department if i lived in this state.Also aisles were messy, most of the cat section was empty.

Normally I LOVE Petco for their policies and prices. However today we picked up a box of food from our local UPS where the delivery was sent. No damage to the shipping box but the UPS people wrapped it in plastic bc they mentioned there was a smell and fruit flies. I brought the undamaged shipping box home and opened the plastic and found that the canned food was covered in maggots. Petco couldn't give us a replacement either even though the product was in stock so we were pretty disappointed and will use caution when getting canned food shipped from them again. That being said, we still like our local Petco.

I was alittle disappointed in the overall size of the store, however, I didn't look at the whole store.I was in a rush so I asked a young lady that worked there about what I needed.She stopped what she was doing and answered my questions.

Jess is the ONLY groomer at the Charlottesville Emmet St Petco location! As usual she did an excellent job grooming my Westie Bruno and despite being extremely busy was as patient, kind, and professional as ever! Petco is very blessed to have such a wonderful and conscientious employee as Jess. She deserves some kind of stipend or reward for holding down their grooming business ALONE without even one complaint! Petco she should be paid handsomely for doing the job of multiple groomers! Jess is worth her weight in GOLD!

Second pet buying experience from this location and very happy with it. We went in today for a hamster for my daughter and the woman we spoke with was clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about all the small animals. She gave us a lot of advice and feedback and answered all the kids questions patiently and talked us throw the different food styles and tiers. We really appreciated her help and expertise!

Most of the dubia roach are dead or dying in package and all the crickets are dead it was a Saturday when I was there saleswoman said they get them in middle of the week but they still shouldn't be dead in a few days

I dont often go to petco, and there is a good reason why. This is what i saw last time i went there. A mouse with her arm and chest area chewed open by other mice. They have so many mice in one enclosure that they cant even tell if one is sick or not! How is this an acceptable way of keeping any animal?I have also tried to get an appointment with their groomers a few times in the past but every time i call they tell me they are too busy and just hang up on me. I hope that people will see this and not go to petco. Is this really a place you would want to buy stuff from?!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is clean and organized. It's easy to find what you need, and the staff is readily available to answer questions or help locate anything you can't find. It is a smaller store, so they don't stock as much as the larger locations. Overall it's a great little store with an amazing staff.

Jason is the best groomer ever! And I've raised 5 dogs, so I've experienced a lot of groomers. Jason cares and took into consideration that my dog is senior and made sure he wasn't too stressed with the big barking dogs. Not only is the quality of the grooming top notch, but Jason was able to get my dog's teeth clean!!

I have hermit crabs. I have been to Petco three times within the past three weeks. They have not had essential items for hermit crabs in-stock. I have walked out empty handed twice. Customer service is always great.

Came in last Friday looking for a large rat. They are $13.00. Was told that they were out but will get more Thursday. Drove from Louisa to get one and was told that none came in. Had to buy 4 mice. Cost twice as much but less food for my python.

I went in at 4:30 for a walk-in nail trimming. Was informed that they close at 4:30 so they couldn’t help me. Even though all the website information say that the locations hours are until 6pm. Very frustrated!

5th visit: had to go back a total of 4 times to return an item because they were closed earlier (every time I visited) than their business hours. The reason-lack of staff to stay open regular hours. Folks, they're hiring.I can see why it looked pretty sad as you walked in the first time.1st visit: A lot of empty shelves. Missing price tags. Not all sizes are available. Not clean or neatly placed products. Handwritten Closing Early sign due to the staff issue.Too sad that the store looks as if it's run down or closing soon.

Even with the updated hours of being 12-4 nobody is ever there or answers the phone. I went this passed Saturday to pickup a curbside order within the 12-4 hours nobody answered the phone (was on there for about 15 mins hoping someone would answer) and nobody was in the store. Just received an email today that my pickup order was cancelled - i never picked it up because nobody was ever there.

It was good. Clean. Not spotless but clean. Certainly expectable for a week near the ocean. Staff were friendly.We had a problem with our balcony door not closing which caused an air leak. I called the operator , Chris. She has answered before for something I had called about, she can sound gruff but helped by forwarding my message. This time I needed Maintenance, Lindsay was there within 10 minutes, diagnosed, fixed the problem, was pleasant, and courteous. Thank you Lindsay.

I always buy from pet supplies plus and this time I decided to buy from PETCO. Horrible mistake, I ordered same day delivery and my dog food was delivered idk where. I try calling the store and no one answers. I also couldn’t contact the DoorDash driver. So, now I’m stuck.

Online it says no appointment necessary … you can and they say walk in appointments, you get through the effort of coming to the store & waiting, and then they say it’s appointment only for “walk-in” services and there’s nothing available. Poor system, poor service. The stylist was informative, though.

If the hours are 7pm on a Friday maybe updating the online info would be beneficial. Will stick to going to pet supplies. Don’t waste your time they might be closed when you get here an hour before closing

My visit was quick but my product were already dead when I purchased. I didn't know that not until I got home to fees my pet. This happens all the time I come visit.
