Excellent care!!! We just moved here from Northern Virginia and I have a dog that had a ridiculous amount of anxiety. She’s been like this since we got her in 2014. The vet put her on Prozac because we were at our wits end. It is amazing the transformation that has taken place. She’s not droopy or sad (which I was worried about) but she’s just the happiest dog without all the worry and anxiety! So pleased with our new vet!! I can’t thank you guys enough!! 💕

Lovely staff! I really appreciate the vets willing to work with me on medicines they didn't carry. I especially appreciated the time spent with me and not feeling rushed during my appointment.

I highly recommend! My dog had an eye issue and needed to be seen asap. They got him in quickly and were very reassuring on the phone when I explained that he is really scared of strangers. Leslie was very helpful and she remained calm and positive with my baby the entire visit. Dr Stewart was wonderful and took her time to explain everything. I was allowed to stay in the exam room and even encouraged to comfort my baby while he was being examined. When I checked out, there was no surprise charges. It was exactly what I was quoted. I give them 10 stars!

Pantops has been the medical staff for our furry family members since we moved here almost 8 years ago. Dr. Stewart herself is experienced and has a good bedside manner. Her staff is the nicest and most professional group I have ever encountered in a vet office. I would recommend Pantops Vet.

I’m from south of Richmond but while staying with family in Charlottesville for a funeral my dog ended up having a terrible allergy flare up. I called several offices before Pantops and they were the only office willing to squeeze us in for a last minute appointment. They were incredibly friendly over the phone and in person, and their pricing is very fair. I was especially touched that they called a few days later to check to see how my dog was doing, even with knowing that I am not a local and probably wouldn’t come back. Well, I was so happy with the care I received I am actually considering making the 1.5 hour drive for all vet appointments and transferring our care to them completely.

Staff is friendly and nice but every time I visit the total cost ends up being so much more then the estimate/scope I received prior to going. I went 3x in the past 6 months and every single time there was more to be added only after the vet saw my dogs (and this isn't from discovering any issues, the dogs are healthy). I finally had it today when I was told I just needed to go in for a $50 wellness checkup and was told it's $100 instead because they needed to do another random check. I understand caring for a dog is expensive and I'm not making comments on their care but it almost feels like they're just jacking up my bill every time I come in. Don't trust their estimate on either the scope of work or the potential cost.

Overpriced, doesn’t pay attention or care for the animals itself (the doctor didn’t even know my dogs names) seems like she cares more about making money off of pet owners than helping the animals and coming up with solutions that actually remedy issues. Go to the other vet on Pantops

I cannot put into words how happy I am to have taken my dog here, but I’ll try. The techs were so kind and so genuinely happy to meet my dog and take care of him. I brought him in for an exam and to purchase some flea and tick meds. The vet spoke to me on the phone and was so patient and answered all of my questions thoroughly (I had a lot of questions too). She also explained that my dog has a problematic tooth and told me the risks and possible outcomes. I was informed of the cost to extract the tooth but I wasn’t pressured. I was told of the signs to look out for when I could have easily been pressured to drop $1,200 right there. What do I know? I could have been told it needed an emergency extraction and been none the wiser but instead I was given all the information and left knowing what to watch out for and what to do if things get worse. I’ve taken my dog to other vets and have left feeling stupid, like I can’t take care of him, and very very pressured to purchase things without knowing if they were necessary. I didn’t feel that way here. I left knowing that my dog received the best care, and that I only paid for essential services and knowing what I was buying. I have finally found my Charlottesville vet and will not be taking him anywhere else. Thank you thank you thank you!

Very UNPROFFESSIONAL. This place was my pets veterinarian for some times. When I need an APHIS health certification I called them, you supposed to go to your regular vet for this type of things, well the first time I called they say they are able to do so and they will call me back soon, I called them again and Jessica said she'll call me back, five days later I called them to hear from Jessica they cannot do the certification for me, Now I'm running out of time to do so. Very unprofessional nd very expensive too.

I have been going to see Dr. Stewart for 15 years, she has enormous resources to help/refer out any client with any issue if needed. She goes the extra mile and spends lots of time with you (and listens) to ensure you are well informed regarding diagnosis & care. She even came in on the wknd after hours just to ck in on our dog who spent the wknd at the hospital and had extensive phone conversations with us on the wknd too! I can't say enough good things about this vet, she is well informed on all of the new medicines (supplements) and research, she has excellent patient/client skills & has a well educated staff & state of the art facility.

Sunday September 22, 2013 my Golden Retriever passed at the ripe old age of 13 years and 11 months of cancer. Ginger came to Dr. Helle Stewart when she was about 11. She was never a healthy dog. She suffered from hypothyroidism and severe allergies. While some other vets were able to treat her thyroid condition, Dr Stewart was aggressive with her allergies with special shampoos and allergy medicines. Our previous vet was happy to put her on steroids and antibiotics once every couple of months. Dr. Stewart treated the root causes not just the symptoms. I will continue to take my younger dog to Pantops Veterinary Hospital for superior care.

Not happy at all.. don't take your pet here. Facility does not do necessary ER procedures.My cat died .. due to fluid in chest cavity..he could not breath properly an they would not remove the fluid. Had some heart & thyroid problems too.. but the fluid was an obstruction not allowing lungs to work properly...an get oxygen.Terrible experience.. he died seven days later at Albemarle Airport Hospital.who diagnosed this issue.an agreed fluid should have been removed.Update: This was at the veterinary clinic in the Pantops Shopping Center..NOT the hospital in route 20..

We've had our Westies cared for at Pantops Vet Hospital for 8 years. The location is handicapped accessible, and the staff is happy to carry large sacks of food to the car or walk the dogs down the steps to the doo drop if needed.

This vet ALWAYS wants to see the dog, I have been into this breed longer than they have been in business and don't need a $60 exam to diagnose what I already know. So rather than give them my $8,000 a year vet business I travel 2 hours to my vet to get the service that need and not charge me out the wazoo just to do it.

Extremely expensive. Tried to charge us 500-700 dollars for a spay when the modicum standard is 70-150. Would not recommend.
