Good food and nice ambiance, but be prepared to wait. We had made a reservation for 11 am, but had to wait till 11:25 to be seated, 11:35 to place an order, and 12:10 to get our food. We hoped that the food would be worth the wait as the presentation and reviews we had seen online were stellar. But sadly, after waiting, the food arrived to our table at room temperature. I wouldn't blame it on the waitress since she was alone handling everything, but maybe it would be helpful to get a second waiter because looking around, the other tables were also waiting and commenting how slow everything was. There is free parking for one hour in the next door garage but given that service takes a long time, you will have to pay for parking. Otherwise, the ambiance is nice and the flavor of the food decent.

The ambiance is lovely. It’s a house that’s been converted to a cafe. The food is delicious and fresh. It comes out fast. My only critique was that it took a while to get seated even with a reservation. However, it was the weekend and the restaurant was busy. So allow a few extra minutes. Service is polite and creates a relaxing environment.

Super adorable establishment near the heart of UVA in Charlottesville that we stumbled upon Saturday morning, while in town for a wedding. Pleasant and courteous staff (both in cafe and coffee bar). The historic character of this home-turned-into-guesthouse/restaurant is quaint and charming as is the outdoor patio. #glasscitydotfoodie

What a great little surprise this cafe is! The first time I stopped in, I got myself a Pimento BLT that was truly divine. This time around, went halfsies with the Farm Sandwich (forgot to take a picture, whoops!) and French Toast. The verdict: the sausage on the sandwich and lemon/blueberry curd on the french toast absolutely made the dishes. The flavor combination for both dishes was so great and half of each portion size was more than enough to fill me for the day. Very tasty food!

I would say that it is the best breakfast/brunch place in Charlottesville. We discovered it while we lived in Cville years back, and we selected Oakhurst Inn for our stay because of their Cafe.Eggs benedict, French or Avocado toast, and frittata were terrific! Their coffee (Breve?) was tasty and sweet. You can’t go wrong there.Parking: $3 per hourKid-friendliness: French toast and granola were my son’s favorites

Holy. SMOKES. This place was top notch. It checked every box and exceeded all expectations.Food is so flavorful. Crispy and fluffy biscuits. The most loaded avocado toast you’ve ever eaten. And if you don’t get the hot honey chicken and biscuits, you’ve made a mistake.Atmosphere is homey and inviting. The building is setback in varying greenery and trees. The old wood floors creek when you walk which gives the place a historic feel.Maximum recommendation. 🙌🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️….⭐️

This cafe may be little but it has big personality! It’s the perfect mix of intimate and warm energy combined with professionalism, a good menu and staff. We loved the greenery and look of the place too!Vegetarian options: They had breakfast potatoes, homemade potato chips, fruits, a vegan burger (with the impossible burger), and avo toast for us vegans. Some more options for vegetarians as well

The Oakhurst Inn Café & Espresso Bar is quaint! Customer service is good; an employee is kind and helps me understand a Vegan option (not too many Vegan and/or gluten free options). The Vegan South Range Burger is good; every bite is flavorful, juicy, and the burger stays together. The sauce on the salad tastes good with both the burger and salad (which tastes really good). The establishment has outdoor and indoor seating areas. The establishment takes different forms of payment.

Food was good. Coffee was trash.Food: The Farm Sandwich and the Waffles were delicious. I was worried that the sandwich would be too heavy when I read the ingredients, but it was well made, well-portioned, and well-balanced. I would recommend that or the waffles if you’re feeling the sweeter side that morning. I didn’t get the garlic fries but someone else got them and they smelled soo good - I’d definitely try them.Coffee: I was disappointed. I’m a coffee lover and was excited to see that this place called itself an espresso bar. Sadly, the coffee that I got tasted terrible, and the milk started curdling inside the drink until it completely separated. I had to ask them to take it back. I took a picture earlier, but didn’t want to share the photo after the coffee sat there for 2 mins because it looked gross.Overall, I wouldn’t come with high expectations for the coffee, but the food is good. Interesting, antique ambiance and outdoor seating available.

I was there for a 1:30 PM reservation and am now eating my meal at home. The food was great, but the service was abysmal. From the time we walked in, the wait staff was not warm or welcoming in the least. We had to ask for silverware and water glasses, but never received the water glasses. Also, lots of things we tried to order were 86’d, and we never received the replacements. Instead, the server just brought our check without asking if we had received everything. The manager then came over and said we would receive the two orders we never got in to go boxes. While we were waiting for our food, our server as well as several others were more concerned about leaving and closing up the restaurant than tending to the customers already there. If you are going to be in a rush to head out the door at 2 pm, then don’t take reservations at 1:30.

Came in for a rainy Sunday brunch for 2 shortly after 1pm. I have had tough times here trying for a table on a weekday without a reservation, but this time knowing the UVA crowd was off for break and coming in with only an hour left for brunch service helped. Was seated fairly quickly and enjoyed a delicious meal with friendly and thoughtful service. Our table managed to get the last pork belly benedict, and as someone with a deep love for pork I have to say that it was outstanding. Will be coming again, either with opportune timing or a reservation. One note: I had a falafel sandwich here back in Fall '19 and would love to see that on the menu again!

Food was wonderful. Huge portions, unique and bold flavors.Dinning area was spaced out for social distancing, but a little odd (one table was right next to both the back door and the service station, which made it gratingly loud so we moved).Service was fast, albeit slightly rushed. The coffee was decent. Wouldn’t call it craft coffee, more like coffee shop coffee.Enjoyable, and we will be back next time we’re in town. Also, if you prefer to eat outside, call ahead as those tables are reserved. We just walked in and sat inside with no wait on a Sunday mid morning.

I’ve had bunch at a lot of places in Charlottesville and this is one of the best (there are only a few). The coffee was served pipping hot and delicious. The food was well prepared and presented. I ordered the Sweet Potato Hash. Each ingredient was perfectly cooked. The sweet potatoes were roasted with caramelized edges. The brussel sprouts were crispy but not burned. The poached eggs was runny and the sausage was well spiced. Excellent brunch location.

First, the food here is just perfect. I've never had a bad experience. Everything they make is wonderfully made, though I have my favorites. But even if the food had a low moment, the service is so much fun I'd never miss a beat. It's so clear that everyone who works there, loves the place, it's almost worth coming just for that fact. But I'd walk through hot coals for the eggs murette. Perfectly poached eggs, burgundy marinated mushrooms, a hint of fresh basil, and chips of applewood smoked bacon. Don't miss them.

Beautiful outdoor seating, with overall pretty good food. I got the farm sandwich on a biscuit, and it was very good. My partner got the pimento BLT and really enjoyed it and though the fresh tomato was delicious. We both weren’t fans of the chips and found them overly sweet. The service wasn’t super great, and we didn’t get our drinks until near the end of our meal. Overall good food but not our #1 brunch place in town!

I've been wanting to go here for breakfast, but went for lunch instead. I have to say, their lunch menu was worth it as well. I had the duck hunt club sandwich, it was rich, flavorful and filling. My tummy was happy :)

Not great. We gave up after multiple attempts of trying to give this place a chance. Mediocre food and inefficient service. The servers run around like chickens with their heads cut off and don’t seem to have a clue about how to prioritize greeting customers, getting orders, filling waters, running food, bringing checks, etc. We had reservations and sat at our table for 20 minutes before giving up—never received water or got the coffee that one person at the table ordered. It’s truly a great location and the food has potential but even with reservations it’s a chaotic and unorganized experience.

I had the waffles ($10) with Orange Curd, Grand Marnier Chantilly Cream, Maple Syrup. The waffles were not thick Belgium waffles. They were the thin ones. The orange curd was nice but the whipped cream did not taste of Grand Marnier. The house is pretty with lots of windows. We also had the Farm Sandwich ($13). It was good. The lattes were plain but tasty.

We sat outside on the back patio and it was the best meal we've had in a long time. The atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy and the service was excellent. The menu is FANTASTIC! I'm looking forward to going back sometime!

We were staying at Oakhurst inn so decided to stop by here on a snowy spring morning. The caramel macchiato and chai latte were great. I am allergic to eggs but my partner said the quiche was very good. I had the blueberry muffin which was the best I’ve had in a while. Good service and nice place to sit down and enjoy a meal.

This is one of my favorite small boutique restaurants in Charlottesville. The menu is second to none for both breakfast and lunch and the coffee is spectacular. If it's a weekday, it's fairly easy to grab breakfast. Weekend brunch is a little more difficult, but there's outdoor patio seating in the back when the weather is nice. This is the type of food and atmosphere that has you not wanting to leave when the meal is complete, though there's likely somebody waiting for your table!

Amazing quality oat milk latte, the third-wave coffee culture-lovers would appreciate. Delicious breakfast too - who knew there are dozens of ways to make an avocado toast taste and look so good?
