I wish I could give 0 stars to the place they call a pharmacy. I go to pick up my prescription, a blonde heavyset lady is standing behind the counter, she was fully aware that i was standing there because I saw her side eye me and was just on her phone texting and ignoring me. She comes up to the computer doesn’t even look at me and says “date of birth”, I gave it to her then she asked my name and I told her. She then says “um what prescription is this for because you have nothing” I tell her the prescription and she says “ummm yeah your insurance isn’t going to cover this you need a prior authorization” I said the prior authorization was done today and approved, she then says “well WE don’t have any documentation from your insurance AND it’s out of stock anyways” with the nastiest face possible, I said okay thank you and left, clearly this woman has an issue doing the job she is paid to do. I just can’t believe the lack of customer service, I work in healthcare and I can’t imagine speaking to a patient this way, you should be ashamed of yourself. It’s disgusting and rude. Needless to say I had my prescription transferred to barracks road Kroger to which they replied “yes ma’am we will have that ready for you in 20 minutes and will give you a call if any issues.” Take notes hydraulic road Kroger. Sickening.

I want to share a public thank you to Sean in the meat department. When I couldn't find a large enough turkey in the freezer case, Sean went to the back, brought out a cartload of turkeys and searched through them until he found one big enough for me. Thank you Sean for putting in the extra effort to make my trip to Kroger a success.

Beware of their security guard in front as she will stop you over gift cards you just paid for and publicity embarrass you checking if you paid for them. Utterly ridiculous! Zero stars

Worst Kroger in Charlottesville. Very lazy "employees", even the cashiers wont bag your items. Most of it is self check out too and very dirty. I only go here sometimes because it's close to my house but avoid when possible.

I LEFT MY WOULD BE PURCHASES THERE. There was only one check-out with a long line. There were self checkouts which I don't like . They were all occupied.

I was there for the first time this am. I asked a staff member (young man) what aisle the bread was in. He said “I don’t know, I’m new”. Perfectly understandable, everyone is new sometime. I then asked if he could find out. He said that I will just have to find another staff and ask them. I said you mean I need to hunt someone else down and ask them. He said “yep”. Come on Kroger, you can do better!

I was here at 3 pm. Friday August 25th. The only person at the seafood counter. It took nearly 10 minutes for the person serving me to put 4 lbs of crab into 4 heavy plastic bags. For which I paid for at $10 per pound. Kroger if you can't do any better than that, I can find another place to buy our seafood.

We’re visiting the area and were stocking up our Airbnb. The store was well stocked and very clean. They had a huge variety of things we needed. Also the wine selection was wonderful!

I just had the most embarrassing experience I've ever had at a grocery store. I was leaving after paying for my groceries. As I was walking out the narrow exit my cart wheels locked up. I didn't know what was happening but I was blocking everybody trying to leave or come in. Out of nowhere a security guard starts demanding loudly for me to show my receipt and what check out I used. I didn't steal anything and my God what a horrible experience. Apparently their security system is linked to their cart wheels. I've shopped here for 15 years. I'm absolutely done with this store. This is the last thing I need in my life. Goodbye Kroger!

Some of the cashiers are not knowledgeable or educated on how to run the registers. Staff some of them are not very friendly. Also do not use the key machine they charge you $10 and my key didn't work. Not sure that that is Kroger's fault but they should remove the machine. You can go to Lowe's and get one made for $4 or Walmart.

Very very bad store do not shop here go to Kroger near GameStop are rio Rd manger did not help me seems like she was under stress are something but long story short I was trying to return something and they told me that I needed my receipt I said can you look it up by my card she said no she can't do that which I know was a lie because it's a credit card it's a debit card you can be able to find someone's receipt so I don't recommend anyone trying to turn anything here maybe if I was a different race maybe it will probably be different not everyone that's African-American is stealing from your store but it's okay because I'm on the phone what's Kroger corporate and I'm going to complain great job at customer service which was never given or was granted so I gave them a zero for customer service because my problem was not solved it's not like I was taking expensive stuff in it just was a jar of alfredo sauce one jar

A typical large supermarket, it carries many items. I do feel they should have more cashiers on duty instead of relying on self-checkout. The self-checkout machines are finicky.

Good selection and prices (like the other two Krogers in town), but employees are rude here. Two times now I've been spoken to at the self-checkout like I was a child and had no idea what I was doing. I understand that working in retail can be annoying (from past experience), so I try to be as nice and unobtrusive of a customer as possible. But there's no need for the attitude.

Very underwhelmed Kroger location. Speaking generally the staff were not very helpful when trying to find specific items. Shelves looks more bare than it should. I couldn’t find my Kroger card but clearing was signed into my app. I asked the associate for help and essentially told me he can’t help me. “He has his card but it’s his, sorry”. Not all Kroger locations are like this but I will try and shop at other locations in this area from now on.

Be prepared to wait over an hour for grocery pickup.I went to this store instead of my regular Kroger for pickup because they had a time available to me that my store didn't. I checked "I am on my way" online, told them what time I would arrive, expecting to wait about 10 minutes. I ended up waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes, for less than 10 items.I was put on hold for 15 minutes when I tried to call them to see what was going on. I was hung up on with no answer. A gentleman next to me went inside to see what was happening, when he came out he told me that the employees said "they don't know how long we will be waiting". I saw multiple cars circling the parking lot, waiting for a pick-up spot to open up, just to leave because the spots were doubled-up (one person in the pick-up zone, one person behind them)This was an absolutely absurd wait time, especially when we have our time slotted. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. The employee ended up going to each car and asking if the groceries he had were for every individual. Someone could have easily taken my groceries before he came to my car and asked me.I will never use grocery pick up at this location again. It would have been different if I wasn't hung up on after 15 minutes on hold when I called them, or if we were given any idea of how long we would wait for our groceries, or if they had even apologized for the extreme wait time.Absolutely unbelievable. I would give 0 stars if I could.EDIT: I even received the wrong items. Lol wow.

I ordered a cake for my Son's birthday from this location online. I received a confirmation email that said I could pick up the cake on Friday at 6pm. I show up Friday at 6 with my son and there is no cake. I knew I should have called to check on the order. I'm told by the manager, John, that I can have whatever I want with a percent off. I tell him, I want the cake I ordered and that I'm willing to come back tomorrow morning to get it. He says, sure, he'll get it taken care of. Just to be sure, I call back at 8:45pm to check and John assures me it will be ready. I go in the next day around 8am as planned and there is a morning crew in the bakery. I say I'm here to get my cake. They tell me that they tried to call me and left a voicemail earlier in the week when I first ordered the cake. It said that they couldn't make my cake because they are having the bakery renovated and the cake making tools are no there at the moment. I said that John the manger told me to come back and it would be ready today. First, they didn't stop what they were doing to attend to my problem. Second, they tell me that John wasn't the manager there anymore. What!? I just wanted some customer service. I understand how things might not work out considering the situation. I don't care that John isn't the manager, but I would like someone to take care of me as if I matter and I'm not a problem they have to work around. Maybe the next time you get an online order, push it to another location and let the person know via email that it was sent to another store to be made. Don't say you left me a voicemail and expect it to all work out. Bad customer service.

Their customer service center is never open when it’s supposed to be every time I go into the store it’s dirty and good luck ordering delivery from this store because they’ll just put it off for hours and hours. I ordered delivery in the morning and received it at 10 o’clock at night 10 hours after it was scheduled.

This is the worst kroger in the world. The staff are rude and unhelpful. They are often out of sale items and the produce is far from fresh and often in terrible condition. The meat doesn't look much better.I will not return here after consistently bad experiences. I'm going to do my weekly shop at Wegmans even if it costs a little more.

very crowded and only had one register open other than self-service ... after I got in the non self serve line ... I was told by the employee working the self-service that the lady on the register was going to lunch at 3pm ... I asked what time was it and he told me 3pm and the line would be closed until she got back from lunch ... right after that she turned her light off so I ended up telling quite a few customers that her line was closed ... however when she was checking me out ... not only did someone come to replace her ... someone else came and opened a line right beside us ... leaving me feeling very apologetic and embarrassed 😳 there should have been more registers open to begin with considering it was 2 days before Thanksgiving and the place was packed ... actually that is what started my conversation with the guy working at self-service to begin with ... asking if they couldnt get another line open ... geez ... talk about failure to communicate 🙄 however ... its not always like that cuz even tho I usually shop elsewhere ... I have been there when it was less crowded and things ran a lot more smoothly ... perhaps they didnt schedule enough people (shame on them) or people called out or just didnt show up ... in that case ... shame on them!

Convenient but not always the best value. I like the Healthy Choice Power Bowl dinners. Just bought them at Target at their regular price for $3.50. At Kroger they were $4.79 each (on sale)! Makes you wonder how much markup Kroger is adding.

Yesterday I was there to edit the name of the receiver for a WU in there customer service. They had some one by name of FRANCES that keep me 30 minutes for doing of the 2 minutes names edit. I told the issue to one of their manager and finally there manger did it for me by someone else. That lady was very RUDE. As my side I give a big ZERO for her customer service. Kroger need nice people in there customer service desk.

The store is dated, but the selection is good. I can reliably get Lindt 90% chocolate there, Velvet Devil wine, and other things that are hit-and-miss elsewhere. The produce is great. The flower section is reasonable.I guess basically I'm just plain very comfortable with this store.Also they're open 24 hours. That's a definite bonus.Also, they sell gas reasonably cheaply. And if you use their loyalty card, it can be the cheapest in town by far.

Deceptive advertising!! FTC Act The Federal Trade Commission Act, section 5, says that “unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce” are declared illegal. I walked into the store and they had 2 HUGE signs for grapes at 77 cents a pound. They had about 30 clamshells full of grapes piled up in front of the sign and a few bags of grapes. No other signs. I grabbed a clamshell. Turns out they were $6.00!! Only the grapes in the plastic bags were on sale. No other sign indicating a separate price for these grapes in clamshell anywhere else. The young guy at the service desk was pleasant but said he had to call the manager. The manager shows up and didn't want to hear anything I had to say! Very rude. Will try to report them to Better Business Bureau.

Love the Pharmacy at this location, it has a drive-thru window that is so very convenient and so far they have always had my medication in stock where before I switched I was going to 2 to 4 different pharmacies just to get my one monthly prescription filled and would always run out before I could get it filled, was very frustrating! I have had a pleasant experience with all staff in the pharmacy as well as the rest of the store staff. I love the sales that Kroger has and their meat department always has fresh meat. Love this store!!

Great employees, clean store, and easy-to-find items. I do all my shopping here and would recommend others to do the same!Kroger benefits are quite amazing as well. Hundreds upon hundreds of coupons and buying groceries lets you save money and get more gas!

Really like the prices and sales/ specials . Staff is all ways friendly. The reason ( little reason ) for four star is because the self check out can be a little pain when buying multiple items from the produce section fruits and vegetables, looking up the item code. Especially if the little sticker for item code has fallen off the item
