They have some great events we had a winetasting for $15 each of five wins, the bartenders are amazing if you need anything go talk to Wes he hooked us up with a bottle of wine we were looking for for months. Great atmosphere great selection definitely worth stopping in.

Stopped in for a glass of wine while waiting for our dinner reservation. They immediately accommodated for our party of 6. This restaurant/bar was so good that we abandoned our dinner reservations Saturday night to hope they would have a place for us. They went out of their way to welcome us. If there is anything out of the weekend that I recommend, it’s the crush pad.

I love it!If you ever search for a good wine at a fair price: GO there! I have tasted very good french wines for a good price.In addition the staff is very efficient and have a great wine knowledge about the wines they sell.I really appreciated to stop by and I will do again ;-)

Not sure who greeted me but was an older male with grey berated me within minutes of me arriving. I had just started sitting down outside intending on ordering a drink and waiting on a few friends. I had just gotten my coat off when he came out demanding to know what I was doing, that they were open, I couldn't sit here, etc....I was shocked obviously since it was cold out and they looked empty - but also because I absolutely intended on buying a drink from this sorry establishment. I left shortly afterward since it was really uncomfortable being talked to like that. Unacceptable behavior and judging from other review - not uncommon.Would highly recommend other stores in the area with much better service

They Live up to their slogan, Wine with Fun. Very friendly with the authenticity of it's inventory. As well as fine sipping Liquors. The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable.

Impressive selection of wine, I love that they don’t have a paper menu for the wine (only the food) and instead encourage you to walk around the wall of wines and find a bottle you like. These are the same owners of some of my Charlottesville favorites - Bizou, Bang, Luce, and The Space. In fact, you can order Luce pasta or pizza straight to your table using a QR code Crush Pad will provide for you.

Had a great time and a great class of prosecco at the Crush Pad. It was early, after lunch, so there were no other patrons. The employees were very kind, friendly, and attentive. The bathroom was fantastic - there was a black toilet!! The wallpaper was great. It was very Gatsby-esque! If I am ever back in Charlottesville, VA, I will stop back in for a glass!

I went out for a girls night with 2 adult friends. After ordering our pasta from Luce (the sister company of Crush Pads), we decided we also wanted some wine and went over to Crush Pads to enjoy a glass of wine. Surprisingly, the wait staff offered to plate our pasta from Luce for us, and we accepted. After probably a minute of entering the establishment and sitting down, we were rudely and abruptly confronted by the manager.The manager mentioned how UVA students in the past 5 days have been coming in and not ordering anything, and seemed to be accusing us doing the same thing. After mentioning that we were NOT UVA students, and do not know why the students were doing that, he continued to berate us asking why students would do such a thing. We let him know of our decision to come here because we wanted to get a glass of wine, yet he would not leave. After several minutes the manager finally left, no apology.We had just entered and sat down, and not yet even been offered a chance to order a glass of wine. When the waiter came, we did order wine as intended, but it felt extremely forced, rather than our initial desire to have a nice night out with friends.I am extremely displeased at the false accusations, and lack of acknowledgement of the confrontation from a manager.The wait staff was great; however, I am unsure if I will come back for fear of being falsely aggressively confronted by management (with no apology).

I LOVE Crushpad! It is one of my very favorite places to visit, have a glass of wine, or order some food with friends. It's got such a fun and swanky vibe and the owners are amazing people who genuinely put their heart and soul into these restaurants (to include Luce, Bang!, Bizou, and The Space). Vincent and Rachel know their wines and are passionate about sharing their knowledge with others! One of my favorite things about Crushpad is that you can order Luce to eat. I have never once had an issue here and I can bet if I did, these amazing people would make it right in a heartbeat! If you haven't been you totally should! Perfect place to meet friends for food and drink or grab a little drink before the next stop, or vice versa!

Hours may not be accurate. I stopped in at 8 pm for a glass of Port and was told they stopped serving at around 8 although the website says open until 9 pm . Otherwise a cool place where I've had a really nice Port on another occasion. I'll try again.

A really wide selection of wines for purchase. I haven't eaten here, but the pasta looked good. Sitting at the long bar is great when you want wine by the glass (or bottle). There are a few sofa/table areas, and a relatively small outdoor area. The one downside is that the outdoor area gets no sun at all, which isn’t nice on cool days or when you want to enjoy some sun.If you enjoy wine you must visit CrushPad. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and if they can’t answer questions they’ll ask others to find the answer.

Would never spend a penny here. Very rude and unprofessional. We were sitting in front of a closed restaurant at 3:50 when they didn't open until 5. Some kid came out and in a ride tone and attitude told us to move. The sitting area didn't even belong to this restaurant. Never go here.

We stopped in looking for somewhere to hang out on the mall and were greeted by the owner, Wes, who went out of his way to make us feel as welcomed as possible despite the place being full. He personally brought us our drinks as we waited a short time for a spot at the bar and talked with us as if we had been loyal customers for years. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for and the bar selection and wine were excellent. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Charlottesville.

My husband and I were just here to have a glass of wine and a light snack. This place was the greatest for both of those things. We each had a different red and shared the cheese board. HIGHLY recommend the cheese board. We'll be back, this place is outstanding@

In Charlottesville for a family wedding, with time to spare the day before, I lucked into this great spot at about 3PM. What a great team of people!! Friendly, interesting and each very knowledgeable and willing to share information and conversation. From the Chef/owner to Miss Kelsey😍 ( who was doing some delicious smelling prep work behind the bar), and the wine pros - hands down, the best afternoon I have had in recent memory. Reeled in my hubby and we enjoyed a charcuterie plate that was perfect and left with two delicious bottles of wine. We went back later that night with others and loved it twice. Hope I get to visit again!! Thank you!!!

What makes this the best place on the downtown mall isn't just the great food and wine, but the quality of service and the people who work there! Vincent is awesome and always makes time to speak to us when we're there even if he's insanely busy, which is quite common. Tom, Wes, and Rachael really round out the crew with great personalities! Can't recommend this establishment highly enough!

I was fully ready to give this place an amazing 5-star review until we received the bill.The atmosphere was great, the small menu choices were delightful, and ordering from Luce (a sister restaurant) to have pasta and pizza delivered was pretty fantastic. The server was very lovely, and helped as best she could.What was absolutely mind-boggling and enraging was the surprise $15 PER BOTTLE corkage fee that was placed on the check unbeknownst to us. Corkage fees were designed to allow people to bring a specialty wine themselves to a restaurant and allow the restaurant to be compensated for the wine service (and to make up lost revenue from a potential wine bottle sale). However when we walked in, there was no wine menu, and when we asked the staff they said "Oh you can pick a bottle of wine from the wall, or we have wine by the glass from the wines in the bucket." Without proper signage and the fact that we had four people in our party, it only made sense to get wine by the bottle. For a wine bar to charge a corkage fee for bottles they are already selling you, and not even have a menu with a disclaimer, it's shady and extremely distasteful. I'm surprised ABC is allowing them to do this practice, as a wine-industry member myself I am well versed in the Wine laws and corkage fees of Virginia.If they are trying to be a retail store- fine, but consider making a retail vs in-house wine list with pricing. At the minimum, the corkage fee per bottle you sell needs to be listed, highlighted, and stated to guests coming in as this is not a normal or good practice to have as a new restaurant/bar in town.

I mean the wine selection is great but the markup is ridiculous. As someone in the industry, I am generally immune to sticker shock, especially if the experience is fantastic... But, to be ignored by staff for 5 minutes upon entry and then have to listen to a local restaurant owner complain endlessly about her staff and the average "ignorant consumer" kind of knocked the experience down a few notches. So when the bill came and 2 glasses of wine was $30, I felt like I had been gaslighted. Not sure I'd go back, maybe to buy a bottle to go, but then again, there are several other local markets with more reasonable prices and down-to-earth staff.

Crushpad is the neighborhood bar the mall needed. The staff makes you feel at home and are super attentive and helpful. If you’re not sure what to drink just ask for a recommendation or sample (Wes, Tom, Rachael, and Vincent know their wine!). The retail selection is not only excellently curated, but incredibly priced. Their prices on retail are unbeatable in town. Go grab a case and get 20% off!! The food/snacks are also exceptional.
