We stopped by the place yesterday. The place is cool, we bought some cat food and some treats. Prices are very convenient compared to any other shop I was able to tell that they have a huge variety of pet supplies.

I brought in my goldendoodle for a full groom. My doodle had some matting, and they told me he needed to be shaved. I agreed as long as they left his head and his ears long. When I picked him up I was very surprised to see they trimmed his fur on his head shorter than it had ever been. I expressed my disappointment, she said she used her better judgment and decided he would look better that way. But it's my doggie, shouldn't I decide how long I want his fur? Upon further investigation, I found it to be fairly uneven and behind his ear was shaved so short it was bleeding!Very disappointed in their groomer. So spoke to Carol and she insisted that this hot spot, razor burn was definitely not their fault but my fault do to my severe neglect of my dog. WOW! She also wanted me to remove my review and what could she do to make that happen,.......well maybe don't insult me! My fur baby is NOT NEGLECTED! posting follow up pics. The last photo is how my doodle should look, long ears long forehead hair. I know its only hair but this will take weeks to grow back and money to treat his razor burn.

Love!Both of the times i have relied on Crate and Marrow for their grooming services the staffs were wonderful, done a great job with my puppy and he has always been a great mood afterwards.Crate and Marrow is very catering to your needs ( my dog is super reactive and they made sure to note that down and be careful).Wonderful establishment. 10/10 recommend

Last weekend while in Charlottesville we stopped at Crate & Marrow. It’s amazing to see the variety of dog apparel, accessories and food. We ended up finding blaze orange leashes that we really liked for our dogs. We definitely will return to this shop on our next trip!

I have a dog that requires really challenging toys and treats, so it can be hard to find something to buy again that he will enjoy. I spoke with Daniel who was very helpful and knowledgeable and could give me some great ideas. I really appreciated his patience and kindness. Please go to this store! Support the smaller businesses! You won't get this type of service elsewhere. I recommend this store for not only the people, but the quality and variety of toys are great! Will definitely be back!

Our only place to buy our food and treats for our two dogs. The owner is absolutely the best and we have gone since they opened and drive 35 mins bypassing other stores just to go in. They know our names and dog's names and they are able to answer any questions or address any concerns for our pets. They have that local business feel, but as much or more selection than the large corporate retailers. Do yourself a favor and check them out. Oh, and they have also added a new dog washing section that is top notch!

Great dog treats (crazy wide selection of dog treats/bones/chews), food, and paraphernalia. Excellent service from Daniel and Sean, everybody there has been great. Haven't used it yet but saw a sign for self serve bathing, and training too. Thankful to be their customer!

Absolutely HORRIBLE!! Two weeks ago, I had my dog and my sisters dog taken in for "grooming". My dog is a 9 lb Yorkie, and my sister has a 4 lb Chihuahua Pomeranian mix. My regular groomer was backed up and I had to get him in somewhere soon. My niece referred me to Crate and Marrow. I get a call from Carol saying she's been grooming for 30 years and my dog was beyond her skill level because he kept biting her... but she claims she had a muzzle on him. She demanded to know why i didn't take him to his normal groomer, which i didn't feel i owed her an explanation as to why. You have a business, and I'm a customer. She was VERY RUDE. She "cut at" my sisters dog, which I didn't see a difference in his hair. He was taken there for grooming, and she didn't even bathe him, but charged me $50. I made a complaint the very same day, but NO ONE has responded as of yet. $50 lesson learned. I will NEVER patronize you guys again!I guess you guys still haven't spoken to Carol?!?

My wife and I love this store. The prices are better than Pet Food Discounters and the service is better, friendlier. Recently we took our dog to get groomed by Iris and she did an absolutely incredible job. He isn't the easiest dog to work with and she was so nice about everything. This is the best place in Charlottesville for our pet, no question about it.

Not only is the selection and variety of pet supplies and food excellent but the service is exceptional. The store is beautiful and looks like a high end pet boutique but prices a very reasonable, often matching the lowest price on Amazon.This is a no-brainer, support this local business!!!!

This is an awesome pet store and the only place I now buy my cat food. The manager and staff are so accommodating, they consistently price check things to make sure I am getting a good price. I do wish they had more cat stuff, but they accommodate as always and offer to order new products they don't carry so that I can try them. Why buy on Amazon when you can support this local business that really cares about delivering a good customer service experience and cares about pets.

There are seriously not enough stars to say how much I love this store and the people that own and work in this store! We have a rescue dog that has had a lot of problems since we got him, mostly digestive. They recommended a very specific diet to help him and he has completely recovered. He is healthy and happy! We have since transitioned all of our animals to healthier food options that we purchase at Crate and Marrow and it has made a world of difference. We are lucky to have this type of specialty store and expertise in our community.

Crate&Marrow far surpasses any experience you could get from a big box pet store or from ordering online. The staff truly cares about your dog and about providing you the best customer service you could ask for. The don't just "sell". They get to know your pet and their needs and suggest products accordingly. Supreme customer service paired with competitive prices and local delivery...why would you shop anywhere else for pet food?

Great little pet boutique. My wife and I brought our puppy in and found a broad selection of food, treats and toys. We especially liked the selection of healthy, no-hide flavored chews. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Went in to pick up some snacks for my good boy. Alyssa was incredibly knowledgeable and very good with customers. Every person that came in she greeted and answered their questions. She was incredibly knowledgeable but did not pressure me into buying anything which I really appreciate. I didn't feel like I was speaking to a salesperson so much as someone that was very passionate about animals and had clearly done her homework. It's very rare and refreshing to see someone take their job so seriously. As far as the store there is an incredible selection of high-end food snacks you name it. It can be a bit pricey but if you're looking for the best for your pup this is the place to go

My favorite pet supply store! The employees here are so nice and informative. One of the few places I can purchase Orijen brand for my very spoiled cat. My only complaint is that they don't have many cat items, mostly dog.

I ordered some items that they didn’t have in stock to be delivered to my house. Even though USPS delivered it wrong I still got it on time. The awesome person I spoke to over the phone did some investigating and found it.
