Charlottesville Cat Care Clinic has been taking care of my furballs for years. I have had the pleasure of interacting with everyone who works here and all of them have been phenomenal. I truly feel they love my boys as much as I do, and that they are the best place for treatment at all stages of my cats’ lives. I have always felt respected and really (really) appreciate the consideration they have for costs. I always feel that I am getting a good deal and trust their recommendations implicitly.They saved one of my boy’s lives when I thought he wouldn’t pull through (Sputnik) and helped another cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and with dignity when it was his time to say goodbye (Herbie). Those are the moments that are the hardest and their kindness and quality of care shone through.I sincerely wish they also treated humans, I’d sign myself up for an appointment in a heartbeat!

I love Charlottesville Cat Care! Our cat Tia was a patient for 18 years. They have a loving & caring team that were always so helpful. It's very convenient that they only treat cats, because there were never any loud dogs barking to stress out my cat during her appointments. The staff at Charlottesville Cat Care were amazing! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

This is one of the most amazing vet clinics. I started taking my cat to this vet in 2018 when he was a kitten and continued to see them even after we moved out of Charlottesville. I eventually moved too far away for them to remain our primary veterinarians; however, whenever we came to town to visit family, they would still see my kitty if he was experiencing a medical situation. My cat had quite a few medical issues, but they always took such amazing care of both him and me. I'll never forget their kindness, attention to detail, compassion, and passion for taking care of my sweet boy. My cat sadly passed away three months ago and when I called them to notify them, they treated me with such kindness and even sent a card. I can't recommend this clinic enough for cat owners! Truly an amazing place with very qualified and passionate staff.

We have taken our cats to Dr. Mahanes for 26+ years. She has taken amazing care of our kitty family and we highly recommend her and her staff for their kindness and level of care. And in response to some other reviews I read about Cat Care, in the 25+ years we have gone to Dr. Mahanes we have never had a bad experience in terms of cost or treatment. Having perused reviews of Cat Care, some low star reviewers seem to have issues with payment for services and leave negative reviews for businesses across the board which leads me to think the issue is the reviewer. I have been a client for almost 3 decades and have had 12 cats treated by Cat Care over the years and have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Mahanes and all of her techs.

When researching a veterinarian for my Mom's cat, the name Charlottesville Cat Care Clinic kept coming up. We chose them long ago and made a super decision. Dr. Mahanes and her team are diligent, passionate and thorough. They really care about their work and it shows. Bravo!!

First appointment w/ a complicated kitty. Dr. M was amazing! I was allowed 2 go in, everyone was 😷 masked appropriately. There was a vet tech in the room at all times just in case. They cleaned ears, clipped nails addressed complicated neuro hx gave vaccinations,prescribed meds all in what appeared to be a smooth running, clean professional manner. I was in/out in an hour for all under $80, prescriptions in hand. Dr. M has personally followed up once, her office twice since. Litereally could not have asked for a better first impression.

I would highly recommend anyone to bring their cat to Cat Care. Dr. Mahanes is very caring, careful and thoughtful when handling patients, and is incredibly knowledgeable. Having my cat in her care gives me peace of mind, for sure. She is not pushy with tests and racking up an outrageous bill, which is much appreciated. The staff is very friendly, professional, and accommodating. It’s an exceptional clinic!

I love Dr. Mahanes and feel like she is a trustworthy vet. The practice in general does a good job of caring for your animals. When my cat went missing for six weeks they called to check up and stay updated on her status. When I got her back I took her to another vet to have her seen sooner. Long story short I wish I’d waited, but they still helped me out and we currently helping my cat out with a complicated situation. If you are looking for somewhere to take your kitty, this is the best place in town.

Incredibly helpful and professional. I was mentally steeling myself to have to put my cat down when I brought him in - whatever had happened to him was causing him a lot of pain, but it was a complete mystery what was wrong. The doctors and staff helped him a lot and I'm happy to say he seems to have made a complete recovery. Even if things had gone the other way, I would still be very grateful to these folks for their attention, knowledge, and empathy.

10 stars! I absolutely love this place more and more!! Dr. Mahanes, and everyone in the office has been extremely comforting and has taken the best care of my Simba and now Ollie! I drop my cats off with no worry, because I know they are in extremely caring hands every time. Extremely informative and caring. My Simba had some pretty bad experiences with previous vets. I trust the car care clinic ladies like they are family and I am very thankful that I found them!

Love the attention my cats receive every time I take them for their yearly visits. When I have had an emergency they go beyond to make sure my cats receive the best service and attention possible and the cost is very reasonable

I have taken my cats to Dr. Mahanes for the last 15 years. She is kind, compassionate and has taken amazing care of all my girls. Eight years ago, I put my first girl down, and there was not a dry eye in the room. There is such compassion for all the kitties they take care of, even my crazy girl who takes four people just to get her nails clipped. And my othe sweetest girl who has had allergies to everything. The staff and doctors a CCC have gone above and beyond, and I recommend them to anyone with a cat.

I have been fortunate to be a client of Maire Mahanes and her excellent staff for twenty years. They have care for all of my cats. Even when I lived in NYC, I would bring my cats to Charlottesville to see them. The calm dog free environment is beneficial when nervous and frightened kitties are needing medical attention. We are fortunate indeed to have this practice to oversee our cats' needs.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Mahanes and her staff. They have been treating my cats for almost 20 years and even when we lived several states away, we still ferried the furry kids back to Charlottesville because we wanted to make sure they had the best care possible from people we trusted. The entire staff is wonderful and Dr. Mahanes has nursed our kitties through many tough health conditions from kittenhood to life as senior citizens.Update: Dr. Mahanes, Stacy and the rest of the folks at Cat Care are continuing to take great care of our newer crew of adopted furry kids. We have dealt with upper respiratory problems, digestive issues, behavioral issues, dental issues, and kidney problems and our cats have been kept healthy due to Dr. Mahanes, Stacy and the rest of the people at Cat Care.

When I lost my elderly cat to diabetes, Cat Care's considerate staff did everything they could to make her comfortable and to ease her passing. A few weeks after the loss I received a beautiful hand-written note of condolences. Months later they are caring for my new adopted fur ball of adorable trouble. Having a background in Veterinary Technology myself I can attest to the skill of the staff and am thoroughly impressed by their compassionate handling.

We have so be delighted with our primary Doctors, Dr.Mahanes and Dr. Egan as well as our visits with Dr. Anderson. All kind, compassionate, exceptional people. We feel so fortunate and blessed to have them in our and our cats lives. We are now in geriatric care (17 year old cats) and it's not easy dealing with fidgety elderly cats. At no point are they treated unkindly, all questions answered, and you'll be pleased that they don't over prescribe or pressure you into costly procedures without exploring other options. They take a holistic approach to managing the care of your pet as well as the pets family. Sadly, this month proved the most difficult as our Momo developed lymphoma and inevitably needed to be put down. They respected our wishes, checked on Momo's condition every other day (Stacy!!!a jewel of a human being, none like her) and when the time came they couldn't have treated Momo or us, in our horrible sorrow, better. The staff makes you comfy, it's homey in the office without dogs worrying your kitty. We consider them all part of our family.
