Everything went very well. They help me get on one of their plans for all of our pets health needs. The Vet Jenny was amazing, friendly, and knew allot about doggies as well as other animals like guinea pigs. Very informative, patient, and had extensive knowledge on every topic and question we brought up (even our guinea pigs). Our dogs Lily and Rose love them and we do too. Staff was always attentive, extra friendly, and very helpful.*** As a side note anyone who needed services in a hurry was able to get assistants from other staff members pretty quickly. Sometimes I have a packed schedule so knowing they can manage any type of situation with compassion is absolutely commendable.

I love Banfield hospital. They are so wonderful with my fur Baby Zilla. He gets real nervous when it comes time to go to the vet. They does so well with him when it comes to calming down.

The one star is only for the lovely front desk lady who is the only redeeming thing about our experience taking our pets to this place. Seems like the vets favor “nicely” behaved pets—which is ridiculous because these are animals who will do animal things and won’t be on their “best” behavior all the time. Each time I go to pick up my pets, I wait over an hour. The vets are so nice to dog people and coo over all the pups, and I guess they hate cats because all they ever discuss with me during pick-up is how “badly behaved” my cat is. By the fourth time I was made to wait (over) an hour, I was done. Ridiculous time management for paying customers. Never coming back and will take my pets to smaller cat-specific clinics. Beware to other cat owners!

We visited the Banfield Pet Hospital inside PetSmart at Forest Lakes on 5.25.19 because a day or two before my mother had noticed that our 10 year old Brussels Griffon, Juju was just not acting her normal self.I woke up that morning with a text for my mother asking me to keep an eye on her, due to her not acting right. This being a dog that the second you take a step is right on our heels is suddenly not moving at all. So I immediately called Banfield to see if they had an opening or when was the soonest they could see us. They were able to see us that afternoon, we were hopeful...We arrived for our appointment, no one seemed to know why we were there, even though I had given explicit detail when making the appointment. While waiting to be seen Juju had used the restroom all over me. She hadn't been eating or drinking, at least not that we had seen. Who I assume was a Tech decided to take her to the back, she said they were going to do blood work. That is all we were told. She was then brought back, someone else walked into the room - she never introduced herself. They proceeded to tell us that they took a fecal sample along with blood and it would take about 10 minutes to get the results.Once the results were done they said that their primary concern had been her liver or her kidneys, but that they were fine. Everything else on her bloodwork was all over the place though. They told us she probably just got into something - which we highly doubted - and it was irritating her gut which was why she wasn't eating or drinking so she was just very dehydrated. They gave us 3 options - take her somewhere that could do continuous IV fluids (Bc a 'Pet Hospital' can't do that?), give her subcutaneous fluids, or euthanize her! Needless to say the last option was off the table. We went for the subcutaneous fluids and antibiotics and hoped for the best because they didn't seem too concerned, and after all they were the professionals, right?Well this went on for 2 more days. We couldn't get her to eat or drink. We managed to get some fluids in her only by force feeding her with a syringe. So by Monday afternoon (Memorial Day) I'd had enough and we went to the Emergency Vet.Before even running a single test they knew what was wrong. She wasn't showing any of the classic symptoms but they suspected that she had an infected uterus, which was life threatening. The worst part for us at this point was realizing we had already taken her to a vet and they completely missed this! They charged us $300 and did absolutely nothing. They did an X-Ray to confirm, which it did along with a mass. So her life was a risk and she needed emergency surgery. At this point she was so weak she would most likely not have survived the surgery. So we had to make to horrible decision to end her suffering, even though it was the hardest thing for us.I have waited this long to write a review for Banfield because I have been very angry. They claim to be a Pet Hospital, yet when we really needed a pet hospital they got it totally wrong and maybe if we had known what the real problem was sooner we might have had a chance to save our sweet girl.I write this as a warning. Make sure you trust the vet you take your animals to, I can promise you we will not be taking any of our pets back to Banfield and if I could give a negative rating I would.

I signed up for the annual puppy wellness package and I’m very disappointed. They don’t tell you there are additional charges for services until you check in. They also postponed my pets spay three times, and I took her today and they are charging me additional because she gained 2 pounds. Will never use again.

Dr. Dombrowe is a truly wonderful veterinarian! She is extremely compassionate, knowledgeable, & personable. She listened to all of my concerns, answered each of my questions in detail, & truly took the necessary time to care for my cat. I really believe Dr. Dombrowe cares for each of her patients as if they were her own pets.My boyfriend recently found a cat outside of his place of work & we decided to take her home. She was covered in fleas, had a severe ear infection & mites, & was malnourished. We called Banfield Pet Hospital the following day & I expressed my extreme concern for this cat. We were seen the same day, within 4 hours of calling. Once we came for the appointment, the front staff & veterinary techs were so helpful & kind to us. Dr. Dombrowe completed each of the necessary tests for our cat & found that she had anemia, a gallop heart rhythm, & a severe ear infection & mites. She took all the time she needed to completely assess our cat as well as answer all of our questions. Her treatment plan for our cat was so effective by her second appointment (2 weeks after the initial appointment) her ear infection, mites, fleas, gallop heart rhythm, & anemia were all gone!! We feel so blessed to have had her as our veterinarian as I truly believe she saved our cats life. Thank you Dr. Dombrowe!

We are RVers with Yorkies. It's important to have a good medical team always available, and Banfield fills the bill. Every place we visit in the US is close enough to a Banfield that I don't have any anxieties.

Me and my pets went in for an appointment on 21stFebruary at around 5 o'clock. When I walked in at exactly, 5:03 I was greeted by two very nice ladies at the front desk which was very helpful and comforting on the situation when someone walked out from the back door she was very rude, very demanding, saying that if I wasn't there at exactly 5 o'clock they won't gonna tell me because I had a 5: 30 appointment. Which also was the5: 30 appointment. She said that the vet was not good away because she had to go somewhere else at exactly 6o'clock. If you knew that the vet had to go exactly 6 o'clock then why would did you take a five and a 5:30?! I was actually early to my appointment, but my pet has motion sickness so I was dealing with that in the parking lots right outside. And I have never had such a horrible experience at a Vet. When they took my pet and they didn't even take five minutes to actually take a good look at them. It was like one or two minutes until I got them back. She just kept on saying that you had to get there on time as if I got the 30 minutes late she raised her voice at me. rolled her eye. Look me up and down not only to me but to her own co-workers. This is so unacceptable. I am seriously considering taking both of my pets out.

Hope no one has to deal with the cooperate office. They are the RUDEST people to deal with. God forbid if your on the wellness plan and your bank rejected the payment like me NO ONE there will make a courtesy call to you to tell you what happened to correct it. NO They keep charging your account and then send you to collections. HOW DUMB of them no contacting you, they got your number and address and STILL NOTHING!

UPDATE: 2 weeks later and still haven’t been contacted by anyone at Banfield, as promised.Took a clients dog in for shots and a suspected UTI. #1, you never see or speak to a vet. You aren’t allowed in exam room. #2, because we could not collect a urine sample manually, I was told they have no other option to check for a UTI so too bad. Really terrible that they don’t even have the capability to diagnose and treat a simple UTI. I have to take the poor dog to my vet for treatment. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Buying an “insurance plan” from them is a rip off because they are NOT a full service vet and don’t even own an ultrasound machine. Disgusting that they keep conning people into buying these “plans.” I never once saw an actual veterinarian.Still waiting for someone to contact me!!! Fortunately I took dog to my vet, they performed a super easy cystocentesis, diagnosed a UTI, and gave her medication so thanks to my wonderful non-Banfield vet, the dog is finally on the road to recovery. Its a shame she had to suffer 2 additional days because of the incompetence and lack of concern shown by Dr Keller at Banfield Charlottesville.

My pet(s) had been with Banfield for 13 years. Because of the quality of care at this office and the lack of response to concerns voiced both to the practice and corporate my plan expires in October and in January I made sure to schedule non renewal.UPDATE (10.4.2022)- A Rescue Organization called inquiring about my history of pet care and was told my animals had not been there since October 2020 despite them going in for routine visits. Taking a screenshot of the online portal showing regular care seems to have resolved the issue, but AVOID THIS PRACTICE.

We got our dog neutered at SPCA. Willow was amazing. I filled out the online form and by that afternoon she called to set up a time and day. As the day got closer I thought of questions and Willow answered them and gave advice on other things. The staff made sure to break down after care, medications, and what to expect. I highly recommend them as they will treat your pet like one of their own.

Overall the experience was very positive. The vet staff is very friendly and professional. The front desk staff could be more considerate and friendly, but I am more concerned with the professional staff. The hospital is very bright, clean, and welcoming. I have been bringing my pets to this hospital for several years now and always feel like we are in good, knowledgeable hands.

We love our vet. They have taken AMAZING care of our little dog. She's our baby and they treat her as such. they always greet her by name. They are gentle and caring. They make recommendations without being pushy. As a concerned pet parent I appreciate that and know that what they advise is true and not just because they are trying to increase their sales. They are true partners in care for our Babi and we love them.

all I needed was a prescription filled for my cat. they required me to to get a checkup before they would fullfill a prescription written by a specialist surgeon facility even they recognize as excellent.it felt unfair I got hit for 50+$ by being forced to get a checkup just to get a simple eye salve for my cat.that said the vet who came out was calm in the face of my not being thrilled and letting them know I wasnt.she was professional, radiated competence, and ... grudgingly ... i have to admit I see her point of view too. they aren't a pharmacy. i don't like it but I can understand it.in all honesty she came across as really knowing her stuff and being extremely good with animals.i think they should have honored the prescription and let me just pay for it vs requiring me to get a checkup there too. that's what most vets would have done.buti also think if one my cats was bad off and needed a vet then this lady would be a very sound choice to pick to be the one to take care of them. i really can't stress enough how competent she seemed.

I only give one star because the store was clean but as far as the hospital goes, I give them 0 stars. Lauren and Nick and the vet on duty today were very rude and have very poor customer service skills. I was supposed to drop my son (dog-yorkie) off at 11am today and pick him up at 1p. I left the store at about 4:35p. It wasn't until I asked to speak to a manager that someone wanted to inform me that the vet was in surgery with another dog and that was the cause of the delay. Had someone told me when I first called I could have went in to work. Mind you I live 40 minutes away from this location. On top of that my sons medicine was not in store and the one that was didn't even get bagged and given to me and when I called from the highway, Nick politely told me to come back and get it after I had been waiting three hours for my pet. VERY POOR customer service by Nick, Lauren and the Vet on duty who thought it be necessary to complain about my pet instead of apologizing for the wait. This location also doesn't honor veterans and give a military discount. I will not be returning to this location. I will not be renewing my wellness plan and have already started looking for a local community vet in town and I will not recommend anyone to visit this location as far as the hospital goes. I'm wondering now if my pet will get his flee and heart worm medication in the mail or if I will have to continuously call until some one gets it to me. This has definitely been the worst experience ever and communication and customer service need to be addressed at this location.

This vet clinic has to be the best one I have ever used for my dogs. I have lived in many different places and when I moved to Charlottesville, I initially went here because of the name recognition, but I have stayed because of the staff and the service. Dr. Hall cares for my dogs beyond that of any vet they have ever visited. The staff is kind and amazing. In one emergency surgery situation they all did everything they could for my dog. I feel amazingly blessed to take my dogs to this Banfield.

This is not the only time I have had an awful time at Banfield. I had originally scheduled a drop off appointment for my pet for Wednesday 04/08/2020. I realized Sunday morning just how bad her ears were and called Banfield to see if they had anything available at their Charlottesville location. Lauren was lovely and did her best to see if they could accommodate my pet, and I really appreciate that. However, the front desk receptionist Shannon was and is always the most unpleasant thing about Banfield. I knew the hospital was busy and my pet would be seen as soon as possible. I explained to Shannon that my fiancé and I live 1.5 hours away and asked if she had any time frame of when she would be ready for pick up. If it was going to be a while we were going to go home and come back later in the day to pick Our pet up, but if it were going to be 1-2 hours that we would stay around town and wait to be called. Shannon told me the hospital was busy and it would be a first come first serve basis. She offered absolutely no time frame. My fiancé and I decided to stay around town and were called to pick up within 1.5-2 hours. The Dr. Washburn briefly explained to me what they did, but I still needed some instruction on how to administer the medicine prescribed to my pet. When we came to pick up, Shannon had an attitude and did not bother to explain anything to me. She did not originally provide me with a receipt I was just handed a paper bag with medicine. I asked her go to my receipt and she printed it on the printer. I asked her to explain to me how to administer the medicine she went to the back to grab Dr. Washburn. When the Dr came out I asked what all was performed and she seemed irritated to answer my questions. I felt like an inconvenience to the establishment. When I asked how to administer the medicine the dr told me in a rude tone “your pet is not the only pet I have to see today, I have 19 other pets to see today” and walked back into her office.I will not be returning to Banfield and I surely will not be referring any friends or family members.

The tech was great to get me in immediately the next day after I called. The vet called to explain and they followed up the next day to check on my pup. Five star service!

I put my cat on a wellness plan through a Banfield in Euless, Texas. I had an amazing experience with the vets and staff. When I moved to Charlottesville, I got a puppy and also put her on a wellness plan. Unfortunately, I have canceled my cat's plan and will not renew my puppy's plan SOLELY based on how rude the receptionist is at this location. I am looking into a plan with Petco.

Our pet has been with Banfield for over five years, upon moving to Charlottesville and working with this clinic it has been nothing but problems and mixups. If you care about your pet's wellness I would avoid this location at all costs.

I love this pet hospital and so does my Lab/Pitbull mix. He gets excited when i grab his harness to take him, all kinds of extra unnecessary energy emerges lol... but Dr. Ainsworth and the rest of the staff there are super nice, professional and you can tell that they genuinely love animals and what they do. Definitely recommend this hospital and the wellness plan they offer. The wellnes plan make preventative care and spay/nueter super easy and affordable!

We signed up for the Wellness plan for our new puppy back in March. I was told over the phone that this covers all vaccines, preventative care, unlimited visits, and his neuter. Our first visit the Vet informed us that he needed heart worm meds (which should be considered preventative but is not) we had to have an additional $5 a month tacked on to our wellness plan to cover the cost. We were told that the plan doesn't cover everything. That if he were to become ill or was injured that we would have to pay out of pocket for these services but at a "discount price". We took him in this past week for his neuter and I questioned whether everything would be covered 100% and was told that the only thing covered was the neuter. Not pain meds, IV fluids, antibiotics, and the cone that he would have to wear after. I asked the receptionist how much extra all of this would be and she couldn't tell me. She said that because the Dr. was the one to prescribe all the treatment she couldn't give me a quote. I asked to speak with the Dr and she said that she wasn't in yet. I asked if the Dr could call me later and give me a ball park figure and we would reschedule. She said, "I can ask her, but we are really busy today." Its been more than 48hrs and we have yet to hear from anyone. And the thing is, is that we now have to pay the remainder of premiums because if you cancel you will have to pay out of pocket for services rendered 100%. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone and advise that you read the reviews before signing up!!!

Nice people overall but had mixup with prescription had to call multiple times to get it. Won't be coming here again :-)Had to move it down to one star because it's been nearly a week, 3 calls later still no prescription and no response from the "banfieldcares" email below this review. I genuinely thought to ignore the bad reviews I read on here before going but boy were they right!

Our Dog Zoey was put under for a standard teeth cleaning and almost didn't make it alive. We weren't told this by the doctor and had to hear it from the front desk. That night our dog was asperate needed to go to Emergency the following morning because she could not Breath. She ended up with Penumonia and was all day in the Vets care. She could have died. Our Vet Doctor called Banfield for a follow up on what happened and they give us any positive knowledge that could help them.

The receptionist is rude & kept talking over me & other clients. She almost made me lose it. Also I asked for my pets nail be grinded down & they only clipped them leaving them worst than before, sharper & jagged his little nails were like daggers. I was totally scratched up when I got home. Seriously their excuse was "we don't have a working grinder" umm they could have walked 50ft to buy one from PetSmart. If I could find one closer I would leave this one & never come back

I have lived all over the country and frequented many Banfields in my time... this one is the best. The entire staff is outstanding, Dr. Hall is one of the best vets I've worked with, and they were always so excited to see my dog when we were there that it made me so comfortable when I needed to leave her there. I recently moved away and no Banfield I've been to lives up to the high standard that Banfield Charlottesville set.
