Was delighted with the chicken and sides. Portions were plentiful. All of it was great and the price was reasonable. The potato wedges were the best I have ever had. The food was great!! Looking forward to trying other things they offer!

This place has really good BBQ sammiches. If you're near stop in. Get there early everything is usually gone by 11am or Noon.

Went in Sunday and won’t return unless it’s for gasoline and closed sealed items Poor lighting, very cramped store,deli had a decent selection of food but was covered in gnats even the condiments had gnats in the tip and no covers so prolly full of “extra protein” the girl cooking and serving food was very unclean and the owner seemed like he could care less what was going onwent to wash my hands saw the out of order sign but the young lady said they were open. The water smells rancid in the bathroom was a disaster not clean smells of urine. I decided for my own health not to even use the restroom.The young child with her was SUPER nice and very well mannered. The staff seems to know a lot of people and holds conversation which is something you don’t see much now a days with the hustle and bustle of life. I never did catch the young mothers name but she was very helpful in stork give me directions she states she not from down here and works only on the weekends but I did get to my destination!Overall this store should not be allowed to sell food or anything that requires them to use the putrid water. It’s a cute historical store but should stay as a convenience and fueling station ONLY the owner should be ashamed as to how he has let such a place go to ruin as should the county

I love this store!! On top of it's old school vibe and everyone knows everyone thing going...they make the best fried chicken I have ever eaten in my life!!! I kinda hope not too many of you read this because that just means more chicken for me!!

Local and historic Adkins store. Sam is awesome. Good people. Decent bbq and fried chicken at lunch. Not tons of selection but staff is helpful.

As all local gas n mart shops go this one has the essentials and some extra. Prices are ok for the area. Gas prices tend to fluctuate towards the middle to high side. Photo from Mar 10 already at $4 now at $4.79 reg

The original Adkins Store is gone, replaced with a filling station/convenience store of the same name which is pretty well stocked. When I visited I was looking for old churches nearby, and found I was in the heart of Chicahominy Indian country—even the clerk who waited on me was Native American, and sent me west on Lott Cary Road to Samaria Baptist Church, which was built by Chicahominy Indians, although over time it has added others to the congregation. The nearness of Adkins Store to the Chicahominy is emblematic of the early peaceful relations established between the Society of Friends (“Quakers”) and Native Americans.

Since I am handycaped a customer came over and noticed I was not walking too well...& offered to pump my gas. I said OK..& he did and took my card in and paid for my gas...Many thanks to this man from no where went to my aid...& another customer wanted to help ....But the other gentleman bet feet to me first...I AM GREATLY SURPRISEDBY THE OVER WHELMING RESPONSE...I WISHED THEM BOTH A THANK YOU.....

This is the store I shopped at when I was a child. It's very different now. It's has take out food. I get the chicken after church. It's a little salty, I try not to eat it MUCH.
