I just wanted to say a big thank you to my trainer Nicole and AK9I for taking my dog Akari in for board and train. It was 100% worth it. Training myself to help my dog get to where she is now was challenging and sometimes discouraging, but Nicole has been awesome and very patient with me. I can confidently say I can walk off leash with my girl and she won't run off, I can put her in a sit and have the door wide open and she won't run away. It's been a lot of ongoing training, not only for her but for me too. We are working on continuing to build that bond and having fun with it. I highly recommend AK9I for your fur baby, you won't be disappointed! The support you get from the trainers is very reassuring.

I'm a recent graduate of their 13-week program and it was a wonderful experience. The trainers were knowledgeable and created a non-stressful friendly, learning environment. I learned a lot because the instructors and all the staff, including the CEO, wanted the students to be successful, in addition, to everyone being available to help provide support and whatever resources you required. It's amazing how intelligent these canines are and there's a lot to being a competent handler besides knowing how to hold onto the end of a leash. I was provided with a terrific K9 partner and I highly recommend AK9I if you are considering pursuing this type of career. I want to personally express my sincere gratitude to all the personnel at AK9I for allowing me to fulfill a lifelong dream. The opportunity provided by AK9I will always be an important part of my life and an exceptional memory. Thanks again.

Just completed 13 week course and very happy with the course and it’s material I’ve learned. My instructor Tony was outstanding as well as all the other instructors I encountered. Very knowledgeable staff that go out of their way to make sure you understand the course and to have a excellent working K9 at the end of the course. Bonus of this institute is you leave with the K9 you train so you can start working immediately, most other schools don’t offer this. I highly recommend this school and hope to be able to attend another future course especially looking forward to the new courses coming soon!

Attended the 13 week course at this school and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Not only did I get to pick my own K9 partner for life, but I was also shown how to train a working dog from a green dog all the way to a finished product. The owner was unbelievably kind and the instructors were extremely knowledgeable of the K9 industry and very professional. My instructor Joe made it his top priority to ensure I never quit on myself no matter how challenging the course became and ensured that I was employed before I graduated. Loved this school and I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone looking to get into the K9 Industry.

I met a recruiter for AK9i at a job fair at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. From there I was introduced to the one of the owners, Paul. Paul and Michelle assisted with me coming here to the program and were very detailed on everything I needed to know before I began the journey. Upon arrival, Michelle made sure I found the correct dorm and communicated where I would meet my instructor. I knew nothing about becoming a K9 handler at first but the knowledge I have received from James, Jeff, Chris (both of you lol), Jeremiah and even the kennel staff has been something I never expected. This school met my expectations times 10!!!! If I choose to come back for a second K9 I most definitely will be choosing AK9i. From the admin side (Michelle, Nigel, Paul and Ryan) I really appreciate you all for having patience and assisting not only myself but also my VR&E counselor with everything I needed to be successful in this career field. I will do my best and keep myself and K9 AJ working so we can continue to certifing here in the years to come. Again thank you to everyone involved in me graduating! It means a lot!!!!

All the instructors here are amazing and friendly with decades of knowledge behind their belts. Kennels are always well kept and dogs are kept happy when they’re put up for the night or the weekend. Brad was my instructor I highly recommend him because he will give you the knowledge behind everything you are doing with the dog and your dogs mindset. All of the management was very nice and are very willing to help you with whatever they can at a very swift pace. The living quarters are nice with big common areas.Overall it was a great school with a lot of great people and awesome times.

This is the only place I trust to board my 4 working dogs! I even drive 3.5 hours to get them there before I go out of the country. I don’t worry about a thing. They’re very professional, flexible, friendly, responsive, and take amazing care of even the most dangerous dogs. Highly recommend them for the staff and management alone. Add in the fact that their facility is well kept, extremely clean, and perfectly organized, and you’ve got a winning combination.

Attended AK9I for the January class. AK9I is a top notch school and I highly recommend it for anyone trying to get into the K9 industry. Instructors Matt is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff when it comes to training canines. He was always there to ask questions, even after training hours. He assured that my canine was trained to the highest standard, and was ready to start working after graduation. All instructors there are too notch and know there knowledge. Highly recommended!

I recently toured the school with my wife before committing to attending AK9I later this year. Michelle has been our point of contact and also conducted the tour. She has been amazing with answering all of our questions and super accommodating with showing us around the campus. We were very impressed with the grounds of the school, how the canines were housed and managed as well as the friendliness of all staff and instructors we came across. I am excited to attend later this year and from what we can tell, I will gain an enormous amount of knowledge and experience that will make a huge impact on my future.

I have been working with working dogs since 2010. My career has consisted of Military Working Dogs 2010-2014 then Police Dogs 2014-Present. I have NEVER been a K9 Handler, however, as a police officer had the privilege's of working with several dozen during the last few years. I have grown to both love and hate certain characteristics of the dogs and their handlers. Through this experience and a little self motivation, I decided to make the phone call. I was ready to be a handler. My mother always told me "be the change you want to be", so I did. I attended AK9I during the months of April-May 2021 for their 8 week course. I graduated with "K9 Hank" and have since been training with a local police agency on the Southern Coast of Mississippi. Per my background and credentials, one could assume correctly that my dog is a "Narcotics Dog", also trained in tracking, articles, and open areas. I would say with having watched dozens of working dogs and handlers operate throughout the last 11 years of my life; I am thoroughly satisfied with my training I received at AK9I. The type of dogs and handlers AK9I turns out truly are amazing. The staff at AK9I considered what type of dog I wanted, it's purpose, and my home life accommodations. They recommended a dog, then demoed several. Without question I decided to select K9 Hank for his unmatched abilities. With 8 weeks of training and a my newly selected K9 companion, Instructor Kevin worked countless hours to ensure this K9 team met the required standards to graduate. Let me tell you folks, this is no ordinary team. AK9I uses a method of training unmatched and unparalleled by any of the current K9 trainers in the United States. I would say to those of you considering attending to please give this school an opportunity. See what they have to offer. Call and speak with Paul, speak with Michelle, speak with Angie, speak with any of the staff as they are there to help and accommodate. I know you will not regret your decision to attend AK9I. The school is what you make of it. Spend your time networking and training and I promise you will reap the benefits.

I went through the 5 week course not to long ago and I can honestly say it was very good training. The instructors know what they're doing and they have good quality dogs. The facility itself is also good, different training environments to test your dog in. Coming back with my K-9 some of my co-workers had their doubts because they went through a different company but time and time again my dog has proven them wrong and even outshine some of the other seasoned dogs. Bottom line is I highly recommend AK9I if you're looking for good quality training and good quality dogs

I have gone through the course twice and trained two different dogs, my first time as a new handler with no experience. My instructor(Matt) walked our class through every step of the way and taught us so much that by the end of our course I was confident and ready as an explosive detection team. I cannot thank my instructor enough, so much so that when I went through a second time that I made sure that I was able to get him again as an instructor because there was so much more than I could learn from him. Upon graduation a second time with a new , again completely satisfied with the training and results. Planning on going back again soon and learn as much as possible from the staff and my instructor.

I attended the 13 week Handlers and Detection course and was very pleased. My Instructors Tony and Matt were amazing in helping me along the way. They stayed overtime and even came in on weekends to not only help with my K9 from school but also my personal k9s ( I had 4 of my own ). I would recommend this school amd these instructors in a heart beat.

I have attended this course twice now. The first time I attended to obtain a dual purpose narcotics canine. My instructors during that course were instructor rich, instructor Matt, instructor Brad. Instructor Rich was our primary instructor, who was very versed with inside the canine career. Not only was he knowledgeable on the subject matter, he was calm and it serves wow teaching us the ins and outs of the k9 community and curriculums. One year later, I went back to attend a shorter length course. My intention is the second time around was to obtain a explosives canine. While attending I was partnered with a phenomenal lab. I was able to recertify my first Canine while training and certifying my second. My primary instructors for the second go around was instructor Matt and instructor Brad. Again, both were well-versed with inside the canine community. Instructor Matt took the time out; as did instructor rich, To make sure that each of the students in my class understood what was being taught. Talk about the personal touch! When I graduated with my certifications, not only was I confident behind my knowledge that I obtained through AK9I in regards to canine training, I found My passion again and working canines. If you’re wanting to attend this course take the time out to do your research, find the type of discipline you’re wanting to go after, and go for it. If you have limited knowledge overall of training and handling, the staff at AK9I don’t hesitate to assist you in understanding all aspects of the community. I believe that without the instructors that I had teaching me I would not be where I’m at today. Instructor Matt not only put the effort into making sure that each student retain the knowledge I was being taught, but he put extra hours in each student while teaching. There were days where We were cut loose for the day, but instructor Matt made it known that if anyone else wanted to stay late or later any given day even on the weekends to touch on subjects that they were on sure if he made himself available. I hope that each individual that I was lucky enough to meet and build with while I was at AK9I continues to produce the phenomenal work that they do. There’s so much more to this course than what you see behind the videos and reviews. All I can say is take the time, be patient, give 1000% and it will be worth it in the end.

A school dedicated to not only producing great K9 teams, but also helping tons of people, especially veterans, find their purpose. Their 13 week course is definitely the way to go, as you get to learn from very experienced instructors, who all have different and impressive training and handling backgrounds.

I attended the 13 week course at AK9I from Nov.-Jan.2020. Brian Diggs was my instructor for the entire course and always professional and pushed me to meet my potential. He used his prior combat military career to cater towards my military and police experience in possible real world situations. This is a school any vet should consider as it is also highly therapeutic working with dogs.

I attended the 13 week patrol and detection handler trainers course in July of 2019. Doing security and doing bail enforcement the company I work for thought it would be best for us to start utilizing K9’s. My instructor was Matt Goschke who went above and beyond to make sure I was getting the right dog for the job, he took K9 Hawk to a whole new level he had never been too (Hawk was already trained and certified prior to me coming to the course). Matt put in countless hours to make sure I left the school with a top tier dog. Needless to say I did, sense returning back to New Hampshire with Hawk we have worked countless events as a team doing detection work at the Democratic debates, executive protection, and have taken countless bail jumpers into custody. None of this could have been done with out the tireless work of my instructor Matt Goschke and AK9I.

I attended the 13 week handler/trainer course. When the course first began it was bad. They gave us an instructor Who basically never tried to help us, would hit the dogs or mistreat them. We lost about 1 week to almost 2 weeks of training and were falling behind fast. While the other groups were advancing to more complex training we were still pairing. Matt Goestchke was our savior, from the first day he came it was a drastic change. Matt has a lot ofKnowledge and experience and made sure we were prepared for anything. He stayed after class with us if we needed helpAnd was always there for when we needed him. Me and my K9 Pirata were so blessed to have worked with him during the rest of our stay in Ak9I. Detection, to bitework to off leas searches he made sure our dogs were confident in what they were doing. It got to the point where all we had to do was tell out K9 our search command and they would go to work on their own with pin point accuracy. I really appreciate this school for fixing the mistake they did with my group by hiring Matt, because if we would have been forced to stay with the old instructor i would have walked.

This academy is unparalleled. I'm a disabled combat vet that has been working hard to fill a few voids.. With persistence, prayer, and connections through VA benefits, I was blessed and able to enroll here at Ak9i!Now, I'm teamed up with the dog I'll be leaving with and immersed in learning K-9 handling and the dog world. I can now say with out a shadow of doubt, that if taken seriously, this training will reward your life in countless ways. It has been a purposeful blessing to mine.

I attended the 13 week course at AK9I from February through May 2020 and I had no knowledge about this industry. Never handled a working dog in my life. Just grew up around dogs. I honestly didn't know what to expect from this course; if I was going to get a job, if I'm even going to finish, what would I be doing after I graduate. But after the first day, I met my trainer, Brian Diggs. He was very thorough with the process of training our dogs. From two-balling, to pairing, to searching. It was obvious that Brian has had many, many years of knowledge and experience. He's an outstanding instructor who knows what he's talking about and he pushed me and my dog as a team. He provided real world training scenarios that I think I would not have gotten if I was with another instructor. He gave me a plan on what I should do to get a job and make money after this program. Over all, he's very real and there's no b.s. Brian made sure that I understood what's going on as far as training. As a class we always talked about the problems we worked and what we need to do in order to get better. So, if you're going to go to this school and get your money's worth then you need to get Brian Diggs as your instructor.

I left a one star review some time ago. Feel free to look it up it's probably the only bad review they have. Not that I regret it or said all that bad about it. Only bad I can speak of is it took me a long time to find a k9 job. Possibly do to covid. But other then that...You can get good discounts on equipment and dog sales. I had a excellent trainer who is highly qualified. This made my 3rd k9 academy and it was definitely my favorite and most highly regarded of the three. It has a excellent facility and excellent dogs to pick from. After visiting other companies and facilities. I believe this is a excellent way to get your foot into the working dog community. I agree with the methods and philosophy here more then anywhere else I've been too.

I had a great time while training at AK9I. My instructor Matt was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with us and our K9’s. Not only would I recommend taking a course at AK9I, but I’d also recommend Matt as the instructor to have while taking the course.

I would like to say thank you to Ak9i and the experience was great due to my second Instructor Matt. He is so amazing at what he does and has so much passion about it . He is willing to stay after hours and work on weekends with his student just so they get the best product. I came out with an amazing dog due to his knowledge and time he is willing to put in with his student

Instructor Matt is the reason this school gets a 5 star rating. I had a horrible experience at first until he took me under his wing. He is always available and is willing to train all day and night. He has an immense amount of knowledge when it comes to K9s and truly loves everything about them. He will never steer you wrong and always give you real world advice with hard evidence to back up what he says. He is always training and takes it very seriously. To all the future students, seek him out and ask every question you can. I’m proud to call him brother. He taught me more in 5 days than most could teach me in a year. His own dogs are a reflection of his work as well as countless other student dogs. My dog Brix is top notch thanks to him.

You can learn a lot if you apply yourself. The AK9I certification is useless for jobs though and no job assistance was provided. Better to use GI Bill on Custom Canine or Tom Rose Academy for a career.

I just want to drop you a quick note to congratulate you on your company’s professionalism. We recently interviewed one of your graduates who saw our posting on your Facebook page. He was courteous, prepared, and well dressed. I commented on him wearing a suit and he said he reached out to someone at your company that advised him to wear a suite to the interview and bring his work clothes. We let him know we appreciated his professionalism.Your team is not only doing a great job training handlers but also preparing them professionally.

I attended the 13 week course, from Jan 2019 - April 2019. My instructor was Matt Goschke. He is very knowledgeable about K9 odor detection. He turned myself and K9 Yokai into a very strong explosive detection team. Yokai was a handful, to say the least, but Matt quickly realized how to get her focused and once he did that (with her and me) we were off to the races.Yokai and I are very appreciative of Matts effort with us!

I received employment offer from global k9. When arriving I was informed that everything I was taught was wrong. Informed that this is the way or the high way. No acceptions! So basically everything I was taught with you was wrong or the industry is wrong one. I have two working dogs now. And me and many others I know are unable to receive employment. Do to the fact we have no experience in the police or military as a handler. With that being said no one will employ us across the board. I loved the training at your facility and agree with much of it. Unfortunately much of it was a waste. When you go to school to find employment. But no one will employ you or others alike. One can't help but to get discouraged! The staff, facility and program is amazing. But I only recommend it for some one who has police or military handler experience. Or someone who is looking to get into personal stuff. Or even protection work. Yes you guys helped me and for that Im greatful. Much of my high regard is to the instructor I had. For he is the best person I've ever meet that works with dogs. But if a individual goes here seeking a career or employment. I believe they will be disappointed.

I had a great experience at ak9i during the 13 week program . Brian Diggs is an exemplary trainer, true professional and will go above and beyond to make sure you and your dog get the correct training . Mr Diggs is a extremely organized professional. He shared his knowledge on how to keep up with my records, for myself and to give out for job applications. Giving me a better chance at finding work . With his past training experience , and real world experience as a handler overseas and in state. Mr Diggs has a lot of knowledge to pass on . I would recommend Mr Diggs to any incoming student along with ak9i as a whole to anyone looking to get into the k9 field.
