They have a great atmosphere here, and they make you feel like a regular. They have excellent fish & chips, and crab dip, and the beer is ice cold. They have darts and offer t-shirts and hoodies for purchase. The little town on the Bay is a place you'd read about on water towns with old charm.

If you are hungry and happen to be in charming Cape Charles Virginia, you should definitely stop by Kelly's Gingernut Pub. The food and service were outstanding and the portion sizes were huge. The pub is located in a renovated old building which gives it a wonderful ambiance with plenty to look at while you have your meal. I will definitely be back.

It was cool to see some of the places that brought her inspiration.)Parking: It was easy to find street parking just outside the pub or close by.

Besides hearing the women at the table diagonal from us who coughed super loudly every few seconds, we had a really nice meal. Our server was prompt, nice, and knowledgeable of the menu. I highly recommend the "Fisherman's Seafood Soup" my goodness, it was yummy. The hubby got the "Hog Wild" burger and was pleasantly enjoying how tasty it was; he cleaned his plate. 😊 Definitely will stop into Kelly's again when we visit the in-laws in Cheriton.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch. Based on reviews that we had read, it sounded like it would be a nice pub with some good food.I had my Guinness pint and my wife had iced tea. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and I was extremely pleased with it. It was packed full of meat and all the juiciness that I like in a Reuben sandwich. Staff was prompt and attentive without hovering. The drinks came out and very shortly after that. The entrees came out.We were just in town for a day and this lunch was great. Thank you, Sara.

This place is amazing. It’s an old bank turned pub. Although the menu selection is small their food is great. We went there for their seafood soup, unfortunately they had ran out so we opted for some onion rings, fries and wings. The food was good. The drinks were good. The atmosphere was great. The vault was my favorite room even the bathroom was nice and clean.

THIS is a really COOL place. We grabbed lunch here on 10-23-22 and loved it. The menu is not extensive by any means (we just got burgers) but it’s not bad. Food was above average. Service was great. The atmosphere is really exceptional. This is an old bank repurposed into a restaurant/pub. There is even seating so you can eat in the old vault. If you are in Cape Charles VA, put this one on your list for sure.

Seemed like a nice place, but we didn't get a chance to try it out. The two of us were in town for the weekend and planned to head over here for a later dinner on a Saturday night. We arrived a few minutes before 8 and were refused seating for dinner because the kitchen closes at 8.So, ok, that's fine and totally their right. There's just nothing on the website about it and neither of the two sandwich board signs outside the restaurant said anything about it, so just be aware that this isn't an option if you're looking to eat later in the evening.I get that it's a beach town in the off-season, but closing the kitchen at 8 in one of the few restaurants in town seemed really weird for a Saturday night.

I ordered a house said which was huge and fresh. I also ordered a grilled cheese and French fries. I couldn’t eat the sandwich because it was super greasy and I was not a fan of the combination of cheeses which was provolone and Swiss. If you like that, again this sandwich was huge. The other dish pictured is a Brussel sprout dish which my husband loved.Interestingly I asked for a cup of black tea and the waitress didn’t seem to think they had that available. Also, they did not have half and half. She brought out a small cup of heavy cream. The coffee my husband ordered was unable to be drank. It was super bitter. We believe she filled the cup before the coffee was finished brewing because after telling him he would have to wait a long time to brew, it came right out.Overall, the experience was slightly less than average. The restaurant seemed clean and other than the food and a few mis-steps in service it was ok.

Have been here several times over the years for drinks....good times good Drinks great environment. My family and I ate here for the first time today and the food and service was terrible. We waited an unusually long time to be seated despite being nearly empty. The waitress mentioned several items that were not available which is no problem, we understand and NEVER complain. We like this place which is why we would not like to see it fail but with the food and service today I would be surprised if it doesn't.My daughters each had the steak and I had the haddock. My haddock was bricked up and hard as a frozen chicken tender due to being over cooked with no seasoning or flavor. Both of my daughters Steaks had no seasoning or flavor whatsoever and for a $35 steak I expect a little flavor.When I mentioned this to the waitress, hoping to speak to the manager to let him know about the food (which I never do) she ended up having the bill discounted by 50%.I dont mind paying the bill but would have liked to have spoken with the manager. Good luck guys and hopefully you take this as helpful feedback and not some customer just being a jerk.

Went here twice during my trip. Really impressed the first time so we went back. My only complaint was the service and the burgers. We sat outside and the service the second time was very slow. Just four of us, but it took close to an hour before we got our food. the second time we went I ordered a burger and so did my dad. the patty was flavorful and well seasoned. My issue was with the bun. It came on some gross burned piece of bread. It wasn’t even a burger bun, seemed more like some kind of English muffin. Everything else was incredible!

*roach alert*While the interior is cool, it needs cleaning. Bathroom stunk horribly, and worst part is at the end of our meal we had a roach crawl out from under a plate. Not sure where it came from but gross like the rest of the place. Was in the plate? Hope not.How can you call yourself an Irish pub and not serve Guinness in the right glass? While it was a good pour, you don't get the proper head in a regular pint glass. Again, Irish pubs have the gravity glass especially for the prices.Food was okay. Definitely over priced tourist trap prices. Ordered a burger rare, got medium at best.Will not return.

I visited this place while on vacation (first time here), the waiter was very nice and friendly it was a good environment. The food was very good, only issue was I wanted an item from the menu that they didn't have at the moment and I ordered something else and they were in the middle of changing the cooking oil? (Something of that sort) No fried food was available, but the waiter was apologetic and nice which we really didn't care it wasn't his fault. Overall great experience!! Would definitely come here again.

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was chill. Definitely worth 5 stars. The food was so good and the prices where very reasonable. I’m not from Virginia but I would definitely make a 6 hour drive just to come here.

This place was so cute I wanted to like it more than I did. We were just passing through town and picked this based on reviews. I was a little disappointed with the food. The wing sauce was very very sweet, and the ceaser salad was not very good at all, especially for the price. My husband got a sandwich and he said it was fine. Fries were the best part, but I'd bet they were just from a frozen bag. Service was good though.

It was my husband’s birthday and we decided to celebrate it here and we had a great evening. We had nacho loco, kelly’s crab and brie pub burger and Gigandes. Everything was just amazingly delicious. We enjoyed every bit of it and the ambience was the same as a typical Irish pub. Customer service was welcoming.

Being Irish myself, I always get the shepherds pie, which is very good. My homemade is different. I add more veggies, but it doesn't disappoint. The staff is lovely and caring. Even the customers are mostly caring and helpful. I'm in a wheelchair so we needed help getting in, the building is too old for a ramp. The wings are also awesome.

I had to travel all the way to an Irish Pub in Cape Charles to have the best steak of my life! The steak was so good I did not need any steak sauce. The flavor, temperature was perfect.The service was top notch, the beer cold, the food hot and delicious. The beer battered fries were delicious you didn’t even need condiments with them, but they served them with a ketchup/hot pepper dip that had you enjoying the cold beer!The atmosphere was great. A bar scene for those who wanted to throw darts, family seating, couples seating, and outdoor seating. A very attentive and fast paced staff. Great atmosphere, small beer selection, decent burger, good fries, burnt corned beef in the Reuben. Poor waitress, did not bring napkins or silverware and was on her phone in the back room when we found her. Great town and this restaurant could do great with the right cook and waitress.

Great Pub, Great Food, Great Atmosphere & Great Service - We love stopping in Cape Charles when heading south for our winter road trips and we’ve been wanting to stop at Kelly’s for a bite to eat but our timing never worked out. That is until today. Finally, we got to eat lunch at this cool little pub. We’ve heard nothing but good things about it from a number of our friends and I must say that they were right. We loved it.My wife had the crab cake and she really liked it. I had the bangers and mash and I too really liked my meal. Being that it was lunchtime and we still had traveling to do, we split a beer instead of each getting our own. We had a porter with coffee overtones. It was smooth and delicious.We look forward to the next time we can stop at Cape Charles and, when we do, the Gingernut Pub will be our preferred restaurant.

I had the crab cake sandwich. It was good. The fries were great. I'm picky about my crab cakes, but the one I had held up to its competition fairly well. People were sat relatively quickly, without any overly long wait times. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff was friendly.

This place is an old bank converted to a restaurant. The interior has a nice quaint feel to it. The server was friendly. The place wasn't busy so service was quick. We had the crab cake sandwich and the bangers and mash. That should tell you it's an Irish place. They have a full bar, plus you can get Guinness and Jamison as well. The food was good.

Cool atmosphere and delicious food! We also had great service. The building is really cool, we enjoyed the atmosphere and most importantly the food was amazing. The pretzels were great, my husband had the bbq burger and fries which were really good, and the bangers and mash were so good. It came with brussel sprouts that were sliced and delicious, just could have done with a tad less butter.
