My husband and I had a lovely stay at Hotel Cape Charles. We loved the historic building, with its newer touches. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with all that we needed. We appreciated the complementary beach chairs and towels, bikes, and healthy breakfast and coffee. All staff that we met were very warm and welcoming. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Cape Charles, and it’s right in the middle of the main road, Mason Ave.

This hotel does everything right! Perfect location; golf carts; bikes; beach chairs; outdoor shower; private outdoor lounge; espresso maker; extremely friendly service; coffee and small breakfast at adorable cafe; spacious rooms; comfy beds and huge showers. I wouldn't stay elsewhere!!I only gave a 4 star for the room because our room had 2 beds but no bedside table on the sides. Only the inside sleeper had access to a bedside table. It definitely needed bedside tables for phone charging for the 2 outside sleepers. I had nowhere to put my phone, water, and tissues, so those things sat down on the floor. It wouldn't stop me from picking that room again. It was a suite with a kitchen. It was on the first floor too. I absolutely loved the room location. The golf cart enabled us to zip around town with my elderly mother. The trip would have been less enjoyable without that cart. It was essential and totally worth any extra charges.Kudos to everyone who made our 2 nights so perfect!Rooms: ComfyNearby activities: Beach, shops, restaurants, historic homesWalkability: 10 out of 10Food & drinks: Located in easy walking distance to great eateries, pub, and Cidery. Perfect location, IMONoteworthy details: Golf carts! Bikes! Beach chairs! Location! Amazing staff!

Such a unique and lovely hotel in this quaint town! Check in was a breeze (the front desk person was so friendly and excited to answer our questions about the area. She’s been there since the opening of the hotel and had a great conversation ). Definitely recommend the golf cart - very easy to zip around town and felt safe doing so. Was pleasantly surprised to have our room made up during our visit (so many hotels no longer offer that, so it was greatly appreciated!) our room was on the 2nd floor and although no elevator, it was an easy walk up the wide staircase. Bed was crazy comfortable and made it difficult to want to get up early and get going. Hope to stay longer on our next visit and enjoy all of the amenities. Really enjoyed ourselves and looking forward to planning a return trip soon!

We were in Cape Charles for our niece's wedding and this is one of the hotels that she recommended. This was a great choice. It was a good location right in town, and was a small, boutique hotel with an excellent staff. We booked a Balcony King Suite which gave us a nice 2nd floor balcony and a sitting area at the front of the suite. It was nice to have the extra space. There is also a really nice outdoor patio with tables and chairs behind the hotel. There is a wine shop down the street from hotel with a nice selection and we bought a bottle and enjoyed it on the patio. The only negative is the room doesn't have a regular coffee maker. It does have an Illy espresso maker but that isn't what I drink in the morning. There is a cafe in the lobby that opens at 7AM and the coffee and continental breakfast is free for hotel guests.

We've had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Cape Charles five years in a row, three times in rooms with balconies overlooking Mason Ave. Everything about the hotel is on point, from the comfortable rooms to the friendly staff and their excellent service. The location is perfect; within easy walking distance of practically the entire town as well as the beach. We will continue to return any time we visit Cape Charles.

An excellent choice if staying in Cape Charles. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. I really like the espresso machine that each room has and their option to have wine in the room is equally great. I had no issues with anything. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is in the perfect spot on the strip of the town. So, everything is in perfect walking distance. This is the spot to pic if you come to Cape Charles.

What a nice place to stay, not the cheapest but definitely not the econobox on the side of the highway. Staff very friendly and the rooms are ultra modern. Right in the middle of Cape Charles with all the little shops and restaurants everywhere is in walking distance. We'd recommend the Cape Charles Hotel to anyone, you'll love it.

We spent two very nice evenings at Hotel Cape Charles and recommend it. The only downside is the lack of an elevator, but the steps to the 2nd floor are very manageable. The rooms facing the street have small decks which is very nice and they face the bay, but be aware that there is a huge concrete plant across the small harbor so the view is not spectacular, but that isn't the hotel's fault. We had a light breakfast included in our room fee and found this venue to be clean with nice size rooms and amenities. Cape Charles is very small so 1 night would have served us as well, but it was fun to try different restaurants and tour the area so we ultimately were happy we spent 2 nights here. It's a very clean, walkable and lovely town.

Staff & service was exceptional (including the restaurant). Felt safe. Very nice touch having recognition of first stay in Cape Charles for our wedding anniversary met us with a beautiful bouquet of roses (thank you so much)! Room mediocre as no space for two adult people to sit; inadequate storage space (only a closet, no dresser drawers); due to non availability of suite preferred when making reservations, two full beds not necessarily the best room layout for a couple. At best, very minimalistic design. Would stay again at Hotel Cape Charles but not in this room (11). There was not a ventilator in the bathroom as it was very foggy after taking showers.

Wow, where do I start? This place exceeded my expectations! It’s pretty rare for us to choose to stay at an independent hotel, but I’m so glad we took a chance on Hotel Cape Charles! It’s a gorgeous building that somehow feels nostalgic and modern at the same time. It offers similar amenities as the larger chains, but with more personalized service and a staff that treats you like family (especially Ms. Pam)! This hotel offers several gathering spaces, allowing guests the opportunity to enjoy communing outside of their rooms. Two of my favorites are the verandah and the gallery. The verandah is located on the third floor and boasts scenic views of both the town and sunsets over the Chesapeake Bay. The Gallery floor (which is where we stayed) has patio seating outside and a beautiful, tranquil seating area inside that is complimented by lots of natural light. It’s a wonderful space to enjoy the company of others, or just to relax an appreciate the artwork. Our hotel room was spacious and comfortable. It was outfitted with a television, coffee/tea bar, and drawer space nestled into the bed frame for extra storage. The spa-like bathroom included a lighted vanity mirror, a deep tub and beautiful counter space. This was one of their cheaper rooms, and honestly, it felt like an upgrade!Location is everything, and this one does not disappoint! Hotel Cape Charles is situated in the center of town making it convenient to walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. Their patrons can borrow bikes, beach towels and beach chairs free of charge. Or, if you prefer to cruise around town in a golf cart, patrons who stay two nights or more can rent them for $50 a day (with a two day minimum). The golf carts are limited, so it’s probably best to reserve one. There are so many things that make this hotel special; I could go on-and-on. Like the Healthy Start complimentary breakfast, or the cute little hallway that connects you to Chuckletown gift shop. Hotel Cape Charles is a one-of-a-kind destination, and I really hope you get to experience it for yourself.Notable Mentions:Unfortunately, they are not able to offer discounts at this time. Our room did not have a microwave. However, should you need to heat something, the staff can assist you with using the one in the cafe area. The hotel has 1 room that is fully ADA complian. This is a seasonal property. It’s open on weekends only in December and closed the months of January and February.

Loved this hotel. We had a large suite with a kitchen....the beds were super comfortable, everything was clean. We also booked a single room with a balcony. Pam at the front desk is awesome...the cleaning staff is also very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location...you can walk to the beach or to most things you would want to do in Cape Charles.... Such a great little beach town on the Eastern Shore.

The Hotel Cape Charles was the highlight of our weekend vacation! The high quality and cleanliness of the hotel was apparent the moment we walked through the front door. The staff was helpful, kind, and made sure all of our questions were answered and needs were met. We even received text message check ins throughout our stay to ensure that everything was to our liking. The room was well equipped, clean, and cozy and the breakfast simple but delicious. Access to beach cruisers, beach chairs, and beach towels was great and made for one less thing to pack for the trip. We cannot wait to go back to Cape Charles and will surely stay at the Hotel Cape Charles anytime we are in town.

This was or third time staying here and each time the hotel keeps getting better and better. The hotel is very clean and tastefully decorated. The Hotel Cape Charles offers amenities that you can't find at other places like golf carts, bicycles, beach towels and an outdoor shower. The 3rd floor veranda and courtyard are great places to kick back and relax. All of the employees and welcoming and kind!

Miss Pam at the front desk overnight was wonderful. My boyfriend and I talked to her for a long time. She felt like an old friend and made our stay great. The beds were very comfortable. Rooms were clean. Little disappointed the light up makeup mirror wasn’t working in our bathroom but nothing that would prevent us from returning. We will be back to visit our new friend, Miss Pam.

It was set in the perfect location, right in the middle of town surrounded by restaurants and shops, with the beach just walking distance away! The hotel featured adorable design, friendly staff, and beautiful rooms with the most comfortable beds and lovely showers with excellent water pressure! With many beautiful hiking spots nearby and a peaceful atmosphere we were thrilled with our stay!

I almost hate to post how good this place is, if only to keep hoards of folks away! Seriously, Jawn and the entire tram at HCC are REMARKABLE! Everyone is friendly and charming. Very clean and premier location. Can’t say enough positive things about this place and all who work here. This is about the 4th time we’ve stayed here and lookForward to our next visit.

Just spent a couple days in this quaint little town. Jawn was able to get me into one of the garden rooms at a minutes notice. Upon arrival, Pam was wonderful! Her sweet disposition was so welcoming. The room was neat and the high ceilings and woodwork made it feel larger than it was. Very clean and comfortable. I do not recall the name of the other woman but she was just as pleasant. If/when I return I will definitely be staying here again! Thank you for making such a great couple days that much better!

Lovely boutique hotel on charming historic street. Great job mixing clean modern furnishing elements with the historic structure's elements. The rooms are quite spacious. Pam the night manager is a jewel, answered all our q and was very accommodating. The common area sans breakfast room is great. 4 not 5 stars only cause breakfast was inadequate...only yogurt and oatmeal.

We had a great stay at Hotel Cape Charles. Nicholas was especially helpful at check in, provided good recommendations and directions for all of our questions. The room is clean and inviting. The water pressure in the shower is so strong it feels like you're getting a massage 🙂 highly recommend staying here when visiting this area.

The hotel was nice enough, but no mention was made of the bicycles that are supposed to be available. Hotel staff seemed to be somewhat disinterested. Parking could definitely be an issue during prime season. The complimentary breakfast was definitely not up to the rest of the ambiance of the hotel, instant Quaker oatmeal and Chobani yogurt were the only choices offered, no mention of any homemade granola, the coffee and tea were served in paper cups and no offer of refills. Very disappointing.

Love the small boutique hotels. This one did not disappoint. Large spacious room, modernized throughout, but tastefully done. Located right in the heart of historic Cape Charles. Stayed in the off-season and I’m pretty sure it was still full (20 plus rooms). Great hotel staff, very informative and helpful. Within walking distance of just about everything, including the beach. Will be back and would definitely recommend to friends, family and prospective travelers. The Hotel Cape Charles adds a couple of carats to the hidden gem which is Cape Charles.

Another great visit and stay at the Hotel Cape Charles. This time, we really appreciated the precautions with covid-19. We had a kitchen in our room and an exit to the back patio -- just about the perfect setup during a pandemic. Jawn and Pam on the staff were great. Henry our dog really enjoyed his trip as well and the daily sunsets from the beach.

This place is a total gem, and that is an understatement! We stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend 2018 and couldn't have picked a better spot. The rooms are absolutely immaculate, the facilities in great shape, which I believe have been recently renovated. Jawn, Derek, and the rest of the hotel staff were absolutely the best part of the hotel. They made us feel at home and helped with any and all requests. Very personalized service that goes above and beyond what is usually expected! We loved it so much, we booked a 12-day stay later this summer. The location is very convenient - next door to some great eating, and a few steps away from the beach!

Wonderful staff, very accommodating. I’m not one to give reviews but wanted to share; this hotel is very inviting and charming. Very nice linens and toiletries. So much attention to detail in the construction and decor of this hotel. I will return monthly, A must stay!
