This place is amazing! Me and my girlfriends went here every day on our weekend trip. The coffee, quiche, donuts, and danish were amazing (just to name a few). And the service was excellent. The lady ringing us up (who I would assume is the owner) was extremely friendly and personable. I can’t wait to come back here and try the lunch foods!

One word - amazing! I loved everything about this place and can’t wait to go back. I got an almond croissant and coconut smith cake and both were phenomenal. My husband got biscuits and gravy and blueberry muffin and said they both were to die for. Everything there looked so tasty and I wish I could’ve eaten everything but alas I will have to return to try more!

Yes yes yes, 1000x yes, this is the place to come for coffee and treats if you’re in Cape Charles! I came 3 days in a row and would’ve come every day if their off season hours had been open! The customer service is fantastic. The lovely gentleman working there remembered me each day and even almost helped me get my double stroller in the door on my first time there. Their iced lattes are delicious, croissants are fresh, biscuit breakfast sandwiches so buttery, crumb cake SO good, but the s’mores cookie is to die for! I went to every coffee shop within walking distance and this is the one to be at. No seating inside, but plenty of tables outside. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had our wedding this past weekend on Cape Charles and Coastal Baking Co. made a phenomenal cake for us and our guests. My husband and I were seeking a 1920’s theme for our wedding and this cake definitely lived up to our expectations with its presentation and taste. We also purchased cookies and pastries for our guests while getting ready and for the reception. Everyone had nothing but positive things to say. We’ll definitely be coming back when we’re in town next time and enjoy some of their treats. Thank you Coastal Baking Co.Love, the Cochrans.

Food quality:5/5. Fantastic chocolate chip cookie and raspberry danish. Charleston chips were in ample supply as well as other delicious looking baked goods. Bakery was definitely popular!Experience: 2/5. A very small bakery and there was about a 25 minute wait outside to get in on a Friday morning. Staff was not friendly or welcoming.

Delicious pastries, desserts, and sandwiches! A great spot in Cape Charles when you are craving something sweet or need a tasty lunch to enjoy. On Thursdays, they make incredible Indian food specials at lunchtime - be sure to order them early as they sell out fast! They also have grab and go items like their chicken salad and several of their delicious sides available in their gourmet market. You're sure to find something you will love here!

Great food and friendly staff (even when they're busy). I have devoured everything I've gotten from them. The pastries were huge and the portion of chicken salad sandwich (also delicious) was so generous it didn't fit on the bread; I had to eat it with a fork (no complaints here).

After being treated to horrible and rude service at two other breakfast locations, my family and I ended up here. The entire staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. The owner came outside and overheard us talk about the other restaurants. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and more, apologized for the other restaurants and gave us local recommendations. We cannot recommend this place enough. The food was affordable, delicious and filling.

Stopped by downtown for a bite to eat with the family while moving from va beach to chincoteague. Found this resturant and it was delicious. Only 2 customers allowed in the shop at a time (COVID) and it was busy constantly had people stopping by around noon on a Friday. Whole families that are related are allowed in together. Employes all wore masks. We ordered bread pudding (delicious), sweet potato bread pudding (ok as I'm not a sweet potato person but everyone agreed the regular bread pudding was better), cinnamon roll ( a little dry on the outside but very good on the inside and they also heated it up for us) and lastly 7 layer bar (my wife said it's the best one she has ever had). We would definitely stop by again if we were in town or driving by.

Excellent bakery in cape Charles! We can here twice during our visit, and if you want incredible biscuits and breakfast option make sure you get there before 10:25am when they stop serving those items. Staff was very friendly and nice weather allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance. We will be back!

Overall, cute, local spot at the beginning of historic Cape Charles.Wait time: the bakery still has COVID restrictions with no in-door seating. They currently ask that only 2 parties are inside at one time. So, a line builds up pretty quickly outside. Just a heads up, you’ll likely have to wait, but the line moves pretty fast.Food:- Biscuits are excellent. We got the sausage biscuits, which comes with 2 biscuits in 1 order.- Cinnamon Roll: We were so looking forward to this pastry, but it was VERY dry. Such a disappointment as we went first thing in the morning to grab a fresh pastry.- Coffee: Wouldn’t bother getting anything but an ice or drip coffee. We ordered an iced latte and they gave us an iced coffee with vanilla and milk. I asked for a change and they suggested “ice coffee with milk is how we make a latte here.” If you want a latte, just specify you want it with espressoAgain, cute spot. But didn’t hit the quality mark a 4.9 rated spot should.

Absolutely phenomenal sandwiches and baked goods. Large portions, super affordable prices. The muffaletta was pure perfection, and the baked goods were insane. The lemon meringue cupcake was moist, and sang with natural lemon flavor. And, I'm still dreaming about the Cookies & Cream bar days later. Will most definitely be making a trip down again soon! My new fav lunch spot in Cape Chuck.

We haven’t had anything that was not immediately devoured by even the most cynical children - from pastries (fresh donuts, almond croissants, muffins, turnovers) to sandwiches (pastrami, egg salad, and turkey with delicious sides). Top that with friendly, caring service with a smile and I am just left wishing this bakery was in my hometown. Yet another reason to come back 😊

Cassie and her team are friendly and willing to help, and their products are excellent. We love to order from Coastal for working lunches at our office, because they are so willing to take advance orders and meet us before business hours for pick up, so I can still get to the office in time to start the day. On a personal level, I have enjoyed countless tasty sandwiches, casseroles, and baked goods, and I just love visiting with Cassie. Plus she's super sweet to my mom, and there's nothing better than that! 🙂 Thank you, Coastal Baking Co! (Also, they have a great little market!)

Their sandwiches are delicious and huge. I had the regular chicken salad and it is some of the best I have ever had, and the bread it was on was really good too. We also had some of the pastries and they were good. It was hard to choose because everything looked so good. The staff/owner are also very friendly and great service.

I ordered a cake well in advance of my grandson’s 13th birthday, I was told it would be a three layer lemon blueberry cake with lemon curd & blueberry filling between the layers. The frosting was supposed to be lemon as well. The 8” cake was $60 with minimal decoration (just HB and his name). We were all extremely disappointed with this cake. It was dry and seriously lacking in any lemon flavor. There was no lemon curd between the layers, just some blueberries. The frosting was vanilla. Plain vanilla. As a first time visitor to CC, I had high hopes for the quality of the baking but will not be going back there again.

Lovely addition to Cape Charles! We went for breakfast and lunch last weekend, and everything was fresh and delicious. We tried both the cranberry walnut chicken salad and the curried chicken salad. Both salads were very good and the portions were generous. Coffee is good too; nothing fancy (no lattes etc.), but it is a quality product. The ham biscuits were great for breakfast.There is a small but well-stocked shop as part of the bakery that offers a variety of pre-packaged foods. We only had to wait briefly to get in since they are limiting the number of customers in the store. The employees were very friendly and helpful. We look forward to visiting again!

Coastal baking is an amazing little bakery with a great quality selection of pastries and sandwiches serving lunch and breakfast.My recommendation would be to get there 5 minutes before they open as a line out the door forms very quickly.
