I wish I had taken pics. The rooms were recently renovated but the tile work in the motel bathrooms is possibly original. Pink mosaic floor and pink subway tile. Love. Everything was very clean and very comfortable. The pool and pool bar were not open this time of year but they look lovely. Cape Charles is a wonderfully idyllic beach town and Cape Motel is a perfect respite after a days play. Whether it's a one night pit stop like us or a family vacation, Cape Motel is the place to stay.

Absolutely loved this place! Staff members were so friendly and helpful! Rooms were super nice and well-stocked, but not super clean. The floor was really dirty and sandy. Nightstand was covered in dust and what appeared to be pet hair. At least the sheets were clean! We loved the pool, and really loved the chickens and rabbits! Our toddler didn't want to leave the animals! Very much enjoyed our stay here!

The cape motel is now our go-to place for going south. Excellent staff. Clean rooms. Perfect location. I can't say enough. Just a great plan for main hiway motel. Cape Motel is a hidden gem! An old fashion by the side of the road motel - full of history, character - and mid century modern updated! It is centrally located. It is clean and shining. It has all the amenities - soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand cream, a laundry - and for your viewing enjoyment - chickens, bunnies, fields of corn and soybeans. There is a pristine pool and a container bar for beverages. This place rocks!

Did not expect a road trip one night motel stay chosen almost at random to be so memorable. Immaculately restored and updated classic small motor lodge that makes you feel instantly at home. Chickens and rabbits and sunsets available for your delight. With Sting Rays restaurant across the road for ribs and turnip greens, a perfect overnight stop while on your way to the bridge/tunnel.

Adorable place to stay for a night! We went in not expecting anything fancy, but it far exceeded our expectations! We stayed in a really nice room in the B&B. It was cozy and very clean, bathroom was spacious. We were also served breakfast in the morning and the food was great! The manager was wonderful and very accommodating. The grounds of the property are well maintained and the pool was an added bonus! Pleasantly surprised and would definitely return if we are back in the area!

I and my husband are guests of the motel. We just were heading over to the pool when we came upon a long haired large dog in the pool. The owner of tbe dog said she had permission from the owner of the motel to allow the dog to swim in the pool. We told her that that was against public health department rules and likely could cause e coli infecting the pool water. We had been in the pool earlier with another family who had a three and half year old and eighth month old. How do you you think they would react to knowing that a dog contaminated the pool. Obviously this is a problem and has ruined our stay!

We have nothing negative to say. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt at home.Bobbie, Katie and Cheyenne were awesome. Can’t say enough about these lovely ladies. The pool environment and Container Bar are so much fun. The chickens are beautiful and the bunnies are so cute.The rooms are super cute and clean. The new owner has taken a lot of pride in redoing this motel and it definitely shows.If you don’t want bugs (as someone commented) leave your room door closed. You are at the Bay and surrounded by farm land after all. We saw 1 bug in our room the entire week we stayed there.You are about 7 minutes from Cape Charles and Kiptopeke State Park. You truly can’t beat the price and environment. We will definitely be back to the area and will look forward to staying here again. Take care everyone at Cape Motel. You will hold a special place in our hearts.

We really enjoyed our short overnight stay! The room was obviously recently renovated, clean, and comfortable with a quaint throw back feel. The shower was nice and hot with decent pressure. The room had a Keurig, and the pods they provided were REALLY good. Plus there is a convenience store across the street that also serves breakfast. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

The owners were sweet & personable. The room was small, but cute. The beds/pillows were comfy. The barn door added such a cute look. The pool is small, but refreshing & clean. They have a bar at the pool, w/ music playing, making it fun. There aren't a ton of rooms, so not over crowded or loud. The animals on property were such a quirky treat.

We hosted my husbands 60th birthday at the hotel last weekend. The rooms are redone, quiet and clean. The staff was phenomenal in helping us pull off the perfect two day affair. Saturday we had a band, played corn hole and lit the fire pits. Everything was fantastic. I would recommend for a quick visit or take over the whole place for a weekend celebration! You won’t be disappointed!

Rooms were very clean. Lots of outside area for kids to play and to walk the dog. They also have chickens and rabbits to enjoy. And they have a fire pit. We would stay there again.Safety: A little set back from the highway. They only have 17 rooms so there are limited comings and goings.Food & drinks: There were eating places within a reasonable distance.

This place is too cute. Mom&pop motel - it is just adorable!Very pet friendly. Small retro room but freshed up/renovated.Our only complaint would be that our room was not clean: dust and a lot of hairs left on toilet seat, shower, floor,… Looked like a one off; maybe forgotten to clean or so?Would return.

I stayed here last night, and had a very enjoyable experience. This is a retro motel, old style. The kind that you find on US routes. It's a real family operation with great rooms a fire pit a bar an outdoor pool and everything that you need for a relaxing beach experience.It was very quiet last night, it's far enough away from the highway and well enough insulated that I didn't hear any traffic noise.This place is apparently very popular as I think they're at 100% occupancy at the moment. That's only going to increase as the summer wears on I would guess. So if you want to stay at a great place on the shore get a reservation early.

The Cape Motel staff was very accommodating with blocking rooms for my wedding. The manager/bar tender was out standing! Everyone had a blast at the container bar. All positive reviews about the rooms. 10/10 recommend!

The Cape Motel had been abandoned for years, I have actually driven by it so many times, always considering it another abandoned property on the eastern shore. After deciding to extend our stay on the ESVA for a few days and a quick google search, we found it had reopened. It was bought by new owners a few years ago and completely renovated. The motor lodge was bright and clean, the property was well maintained, and pet friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were fresh. The motel even had parking for our boat. Honestly, the place has the feel of a bed and breakfast with allof the cute details on the property. The owners home is on site. Charlene, Alan and all of the staff were very kind and accommodating. The pool was clean, the container bar was a great feature, and the fire pit was a bonus. We enjoyed our stay so much and are already planning our next trip. We will definitely be back again! Thank you so much for our wonderful stay :)

Outstanding customer service. Clean room. The grounds were clean and well maintained. Complimentary drinks at the outdoor bar. Everyone from the owner on down, were pleasant, and provided great hospitality. My children played with the other kids who's families were staying. My children really enjoyed all the animals that were there to see. My son took some great pictures of the sunrise, over the farmland behind the property. We had a pleasant stay.
