Excellent spot for breakfast when visiting Cape Charles. Hot chocolate was delicious, and I loved the waffles with bacon! You can't go wrong with breakfast/brunch at this cute coffee house.(Also, if you happen to be a reader of romantic suspense books, this quiet cozy town is the inspiration for USA Today Bestselling Author Maryann Jordan's Baytown Boys series. It was very cool to experience some of the spots that were described in her books.)Parking: It was easy to find street parking, either right outside the coffee house or very close by.

Can't say anything about the food as we left after standing at the counter for 20 minutes while the wait staff walked around us. There were tables available, although not cleaned, and they were busy, but not overwhelmed. We were greeted when we walked to the counter and were told they would be right with us. Apparently "right with you" means different things in this industry. Another group of 4 came in behind us and also questioned why no one would acknowledge Patrons waiting for a table. After 20 minutes of being ignored, even though we were clearly seen by the staff, we left. An experience that starts out this poorly cannot get any better. Another disappointment while visiting Cape Charles. This place has so much character...unfortunately it was ruined by such poor service.

We had breakfast at the Cape Charles Coffee House. Located in a building over 100 years old. We were able to enjoy fluffy pancakes, crisp bacon, seasoned home fries, stuffed breakfast burrito and endless coffee refills with the freshest fruit I've had in a while. It was very crowded but worth the wait. The hostess sounds like Miley Cyrus when she talks and the servers were very friendly with the biggest smiles signaling to us they were happy to accommodate us. We truly enjoyed our meals I just hate I forgot to take a picture of my food. 😏 Give them a try they won't disappoint.

Don't be fooled by the five star reviews. This restaurant is seriously over elevated and over rated!! Breakfast is very dissatisfying, ambiance is dead and the temperature inside the building is cold. Dress warm! Started dining here over a year ago and every visit has presented a consistent, progressive decline of quality each and every time. Nothing is worth the high prices you will pay. We had one cup of coffee, two waters, two orders of the two egg breakfast plates. Costed $35! Fresh fruit has been the only impressive part of my experiences at Coffee House for about 6 months now. You're MUCH better off eating at Sage Diner or even Waffle House.Dietary restrictions: There are no non pork substitutes. No chicken/ turkey options at all.

We stopped in this morning (3/29) and ordered 4 drinks and two self-serve pastries to go. The man behind the counter making the drinks was the rudest employee I think we've ever had the mispleasure of dealing with. He talked under his breath about us from the moment we ordered. He made snide comments about us standing too close to the counter after we ordered, even though no one else was in line and we weren't blocking the area. He was just absolutely rude and disrespectful. I'm betting he was Marshall, the same man others have commented about. Even after seeing the poor reviews, we still went because we mostly wanted to see the inside of the building, which is very nice. But, we will never be stopping by again.

Cape Charles is a charming town located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. We enjoy dining at the Cape Charles Coffee Shop located in downtown Cape Charles. The shop takes one back in time. The shop was originally a store. The decor and ceiling are worth the stop. The food is creative, and we enjoy the variety. They serve breakfast or lunch. Personally I love the Americano and bagels with salmon and capers.

The atmosphere was perfect for what I imagine a coffee shop should be. My partner ordered a water and breakfast burrito, while I ordered a Cafe mocha and breafast sandwich with hashbrowns (a la carte). All of it was good, hot and filling.Unfortunately the waitress did not write it down. She gave me a cappuccino instead. I verified this with my partner. I didn't mind because I like cappuccino.If you are In a hurry this place isn't for you bit we where definitely not in a hurry so all good.

Best place in Cape Charles for breakfast! Friendly, efficient wait staff, great coffee and muffins!! Good menu selection for breakfast and lunch, also serving beer, wine, Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and Kir Royale. We spent four days in the area, and had breakfast there every day. Dylan was our server the first two days, and was great.....friendly, efficient and had helpful suggestions.

It's okay it's no cracker barrel or waffle house it's a convenient location for breakfast. The pancakes were pretty good and cheese grits were great. No maple syrup for the cakes. It's a real cramped restaurant they have two floors they should have it utilized. Not much vegetarian options for their breakfast menu.

Cool building, probably decent coffee, but service seems to be an ongoing issue reading through these reviews. Walked in and reached for what I thought was a menu from the front counter and who I believe is the owner (Marshall) let me know with just the kindest of words that the papers sitting on the counter that appear to be menus are “not a menu and even if we did have a menu we wouldn’t put it there.” Needless to say we didn’t purchase anything. Support your local businesses. Just not this one.

I love this place. It looked closed but go ahead and waltz in. I had a caramel latte and a chocolate croissant. My favorite part is the owner....he's from NY, customer ahead of me is from NJ....I'm from California....hahaha. if you can't handle fast talking and light ribbing, stay home. Lol. This place is a gem. Cute art gallery upstairs. Just all in all a fab place. I'll be back for sure...headed to Ocean Isle Beach.

Super disappointed in our experience today. We waited 50 minutes and never got our breakfast burrito and French toast. We had to cancel our order at that point because we had to get back to work and didn’t have more time to wait. Witnessed an employee (an older man) pull the open sign and throw it behind something up front - it startled everyone as all the other tables were staring at this encounter. Super unprofessional and awkward. Felt bad for the two waitresses though. The table we were sitting at I had water dripping on me from the ac unit above couldn’t really move because the tables are so close together. Just overall not a good experience.

Straight up, best croissant I have EVER had. And I’ve had a lot of croissants living in Baltimore. (Apricot and chocolate) breakfast sandwich, eh. Too cheesy and buttery for me. And iced coffee not the best I’ve ever had. But damn. Croissants worth it.

Barista was very personable and friendly and had a great recommendation for us, shown in picture, it's called the Café Cape Charles! We were visiting Cape Charles and stopped in for breakfast here two days in a row. The food was really good - we had scrambled eggs, fruit, toast, and bacon both days! The waitresses were very sweet and friendly. The only little glitch was that both days we were there, the A/C didn't seem to working well so the restuarant was a bit stuffy. All in all it's a fun place to have some yummy food.
