They are in desperate need of updating! I changed rooms several times due to problems with the rooms. Not to mention, I checked in after 11:30pm. I was exhausted and frustrated with moving from room to room & still wasn't satisfied! After going through all of that, they didn't even offer a discount. I was not going to leave a review but the unprofessional manager had the audacity to take money from my deposit claiming 2 pillow cases were messed up. I will NEVER visit this hotel again. I will sleep in my car first! Not Recommended!

This place needs an update so bad! It is extremely old however it was very clean in the lobby the room was clean the Sheets Were crisp however the room was so damp and moist. The light fixture over the mirror did not work, when the toilet was clogged we had to unclog it ourselves because they gave us a plunger and told us to do it ourselves. I will never stay here again. The bright spot of this place is Claire who works at the front desk she was awesome.

The service was friendly. When entering, there is a clean and pleasant lobby with a computer area. Our king room was clean and had a safe, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and fridge. The bed was comfortable. The included breakfast had both hot and cold items. However, the saying goes that "the devil is in the details" and there were some issues: the inside of the microwave in the breakfast area was filthy, and in our room there was a burned out light bulb and a tear in the carpet. Overall, we had a positive experience and thought that we got good value for the price paid.

Wow. To be in the country.This stay was one of the most relaxing hotels. Shout out to Claire and her staff. They were very accommodating, sweet and courteous. The breakfast was good. Our room was clean and comfy. The hotel smelled good. The only complaint was, no microwaves in the rooms. But staff explained why, but it sure would of helped someone who is a disabled veteran that has problems with legs in feet. Maybe a suggestion would be to put microwave in rooms for people with mobility problems or disabled, could benefit them better. I feel having a microwave in room would be essential in today's 🌎. Besides that It was a delightful stay and we will stay again in the near future. Love the pond and little bridge it was relaxing sitting there. This Army Veteran had a beautiful relaxing weekend👍😁Rooms: Loved our king room. It smelled good and it was clean. Bigger TV would be nice😁Nearby activities: Nearest Walmart about 13-15 miles away.Food & drinks: Went to Nottoway for pizza and Crewe for hamburgers. About 3-5 miles up the street.

All in all, this isn’t a poor hotel. It’s the only game in town worthwhile if you are visiting Blackstone, Crewe or Burkeville. Despite prior reviews, it isn’t dirty. It is just in need of maintenance. The room had some peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, needs a new diverter in the shower, the carpet and upholstered chair replaced (you can smell remnants of smokers from the past), and a fresh set of linen/towels to replace the old. There is a decent cable package and the bed is slightly firm for my liking but comfortable. Given the lack of food options around, it really needs a microwave. Breakfast is lackluster but the coffee was good.The exterior is definitely in need of a refresh. Resurfacing the parking lot and a nice power washing of the building would help. Remove the trash/maintenance materials stacked around would clean up the place.The morning staff was friendly and polite. The night person in the other hand was a little less so complaining to us about what is and isn’t her job and that I couldn’t use my choice privileges membership on a room not in my name. Even having the nerve when my spouse asked if the room was prepaid to say, “I guess so.”To say you get what you pay for in this area is not true. Given there is not much nearby the price is a little steep given the overall condition of the hotel.

Stayed here the night of June 8, 2023 into June 9th. Decent looking brick building. Grounds could be better kept. Upon check in around 7pm, we asked for a late check out of 12 noon, which the clerk said no problem. Apparently the message was not relayed to day crew as we were just asked to leave at 11:15am.Room we had was not great. Wall paper coming loose. Floors not well cleaned. Bathroom was awful. Mold on the ceiling. Mold around the tub. Bathroom fan did not work.A/c unit ran but, it did not cool the entire room well. It got very warm over the course of the night.I cannot say the rest of the rooms had the same issue but. I would not stay here again.With better maintenance this could be a very nice hotel. I hope the owner decides to invest in maintenance. It would be worth it.

The staff was great especially Claire running the front desk, she was very personable recommended a few places to eat and just overall a wonderful person.The rooms were a little dated but not dirty. I would recommend anyone needing a place to stay in the area. Not many choices in the area. The beds were firm which we enjoyed, pillows were less than desired but I don't expect to much. We stayed 2 nights and we will be back to see the area. 2 👍 up.

Upon pulling up to check in, the front desk clerk, Sunshine, was outside smoking right out front. When we went to pay, we were told our card declined, and this was due to them using our card for another guest in our family group. They never asked for that person’s ID nor proof of payment, so there was a big mixup whom Maintenance gracefully took care of after the manager and the front desk clerk caught attitudes. Upon checking out, my mother had gotten so ill from the mildew, that the house man literally had to help us out. I was so grateful for his help. So, we tried to retrieve our money back where our card was charged for someone else’s room and Sunshine immediately told us she would not do it and we’e have to talk to the manager. I got on the phone with the manager who told me I needed to find the person who was in the room, and gave me their room number. He told me to tell them to call him and I told him he needed to call his front desk lady who was outside smoking a cigarette and listening to my whole conversation. He told me that I needed to find them since it was my family. But I didn’t know who it was, as we were there for a reunion where family meets other family members. When I told him that I didn’t work for him and he needed to ask her, he hung up the phone on me. Once again, to our rescue, the maintenance man fixed EVERYTHING. He is a Godsend and quite frankly should be running the place because he has the most knowledge of anyone there.Back to the mildew, the housekeepers came in and sprayed air freshener to cover the smell. The mildew had my mother so sick that we ended up calling EMS. She is on oxygen and an amputee. The overall experience was the worst we’ve ever had there out of the years my family has used Quality Inn for lodging during our family reunion. Again, shoutout to the Maintenance Man and the House Man, they were complete life savers.Safety: Not safe for elderly or sick people.

Room was VERY clean and comfortable. Big plus with ceiling fan. Claire at front desk was very friendly and helpful. Location may be a “little”remote but just a short drive to wherever we were going. Good breakfast. Nice hotel. Very reasonably priced. Definitely will be our go to when in the area.

Alicia and April made our stay AWESOME! All the staff were busy, friendly, attentive and super welcoming to all of us every time we returned. Free breakfast was okay, too. The ladies even helped us with a project (there for a funeral). Loved the location, fed the catfish, place was clean and accommodating, plenty of parking (lot entry needs a redo), all personnel were wonderful, beds/bathroom clean and comfy (need some pillows replaced)... just a wonderful time there!HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Place okay. Staff not so friendly.. They don't speak or greet anyone coming in or out just busy focusing on the computer screen. I have seen two different people at the desk and not one of them greeted me. It feels unwelcoming. Be better off driving few more miles to farmville to get a room. Felt bed recommending the place for a friend to stay for the holiday out of town. But it would be the last. Room smell like cigarettes. Microwave not in the room. Hotel needs a upgrade. At least the bed sheets are clean.. 2 stars for clean sheets and towels.

As if in the middle of nowhere isn't bad enough, the mini fridge didn't work, every 2 swipes with key card and it had to be reset, ice machines broken, indoor pool closed, almost nothing was available for breakfast 1 day (the 2nd day wasn't much better), and the water was lukewarm at best with it turned ALL THE WAY hot for both showers. I'll drive farther next time. The staff is friendly and helpful. That's probably the only good thing about this place.

Comfortable hotel with a friendly and welcoming staff. I found it a bit weird that there were no microwaves in the rooms but that didn’t detract from our stay. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. Breakfast was very good and available 30 minutes before it was technically scheduled. There was a slight technical issue with the tv on arrival but the gentleman from the front desk was able to remedy the situation in 2 minutes and did so with a smile. The indoor pool was awesome after a long day in the cold. I highly recommend the bar next door also. The owner has a personality that draws you in and the drinks are off the chain amazing.

It may have looked nice but that one night in that bed made my back hurt so bad. I was in pain all the next day.

I will preface to say I haven't visited in person but became familiar with the location due to the hotel tours by Dieselducy on YouTube (where the screenshots are from) who made this location 'famous.' Back when he stayed at this location it was a Comfort Inn. Please note these screenshots are from a video and going from photographs it appears but thought I'd share.

Charged me for someone else’s room as well as my own, then refused to help me sort it out. Required 15 phone calls with different people just to eventually be told they can’t help me and I should talk to my bank. Rooms were fairly gross but averagely clean, everything smelled like smoke. If you want to speak with somebody on the phone be prepared to call 3+ times. Front desk was kind but unhelpful. Just stay at the Farmville location, more convenient for everything and worth the slight increase in price. Believe all of the negative reviews here - it’s worth it to spend the extra $20 and stay elsewhere.

My stay wasn't bad; the room was extremely clean that's including the bathroom, it wouldn't hurt if they changed out the showerhead every once in a while; the pillows were way, way too small for my liking, more like throw pillows than bed pillows, even though there were four of them. I wasn't impressed with their breakfast but all things considered, I would go back.
